SIXTEEN. kiss and tell.
With her purse in hand, Selena stepped out of the car and made her way towards the bar where her cousin's surprise engagement party is being held. As soon as she arrived, she was greeted with warm hugs from the newly engaged couple, Jay and Priscilla.
Selena couldn't help but smile as she witnessed Jay's romantic proposal to her cousin. She smiled widely.
She saw someone snapped a picture of her kissing her temple, capturing the joyous moment. Selena decided to share the photo on Instagram, excited to be the maid of honour at her cousin's wedding in Mexico in a few years.
She joyfully set aside her phone and began to dance to the rhythm of "Work." Her body gracefully swayed to the music, expressing her inner joy and freedom.
She paused her dance and settled into a chair outside, relishing the sight of cars whizzing by. Priscilla, her cousin, joined her, playfully nudging her shoulder.
"I can't believe you're marrying Jay after four years together and having Aiden," Selena exclaimed.
"I'm beyond happy. You did an amazing job planning the surprise party," She replied.
"Thank you. I still remember the day I got engaged like it was yesterday," Selena reminisced.
"You're welcome. You looked absolutely stunning in your dress," She complimented.
"Thank you. I really appreciated it," She whispered gratefully.
"You're welcome. Do you ever miss your ex?" Priscilla asked curiously.
She was taken aback by the question, as they had never discussed her ex-wife or ex-girlfriend before. She smiled.
"More than I care to admit." She replied.
"If she hurts you again, I'll give her a piece of my mind," Priscilla mumbled, flexing her muscles and stretching.
"Show her what you're made of," She playfully joked, laughing along.
"I can be tough when I want to be," Priscilla whined, gazing at her own ring.
Selena chuckled and wrapped her arm around Priscilla's shoulder. Priscilla rested her head against Selena's neck.
"I have something to confess," Selena whispered.
"Well, what is it?" She asked, intrigued.
"I've been seeing her for a while now," Selena confessed.
"Why haven't you told anyone yet?" She asked, raising her head to meet Selena's gaze.
"I didn't want to overshadow your moment," Selena explained, taken aback by her reaction.
"I've always liked her. She made you happy when you were married," She said, standing up from the chair and biting her lip.
"I hope we can make it work," Selena said, looking at Priscilla with hope in her eyes.
"I'm rooting for you to find love again," She declared.
"I can't believe I asked for a divorce after telling her she was the one. I never thought she would actually go through with it," Selena admitted, rubbing her neck.
"You thought she wouldn't give you the divorce, didn't you?" She asked, understandingly.
"I thought she would fight for our marriage. I felt like she didn't love me," Selena confessed, shaking her head.
"You thought wrong then." Priscilla said.
"I made a big mistake divorcing out of the blue." She admitted.
"You should tell her that." She suggested.
"I'm excited for the wedding in Mexico. My album is finished." Selena said changing the subject.
"It's been a long time coming. I'm blessed for everyone who supported us through everything we've been through. Being a mother to Aiden and now fiancé Jay," She expressed.
"I love you so much," Selena said, hugging her.
"I love you too, Lena." Priscilla said and hugged back.
Selena smiled, stood up from the chair, and went back to the bar with her. She talked to her family and then went to her apartment.
She sat on the bed, humming a song under her breath. She danced as if nobody was watching.
She entered the bathroom, removing her clothes. She cleansed her body and washed her hair and turned off off the water to step out of the shower.
Wrapping a towel around herself, she searched for clothes and found a set of lingerie to wear. Selena climbed into bed and closed her eyes, falling asleep.
Suddenly, her phone rang, waking her up. She answered the call with a soft smile.
"Hello?" She greeted.
"We need you at headquarters to discuss the deal we made before fashion week," Her boss Tom informed her.
"I'll be there soon. I'm currently in Texas," She explained.
"Well, hurry up and get here. It's an important meeting," He urged.
"I'll be there soon," She said.
"See you there," He replied, ending the call and glancing at his watch with growing impatience.
Selena tossed her phone onto the bed and drifted to sleep, only waking up when the warm sunlight streamed through the window. Stretching her arms and rubbing her eyes, she rose from the bed and made a beeline for the airport, eager to begin her journey.
Passing through security, she boarded the plane and closed her eyes, immersing herself in the soothing melodies of her favorite music. As the plane touched down, opened her eyes and disembarked, greeted by the bustling atmosphere of the airport and the excited faces of her fans.
Amidst the flashes of cameras and the requests for autographs, she made her way to the waiting car, ready to continue her adventure. Arriving at the building, she closed the door behind her and offered a warm smile to the receptionist, who returned the gesture.
Her team was gathered in the room, patiently awaiting her arrival. Selena gracefully took a seat on the chair, her eyes scanning the faces of her record label team.
"Hello everyone," She greeted, her voice devoid of any excitement.
"Hi there, Selena." A few voices chimed in unison.
"What's the purpose of this meeting?" She asked.
"We need to discuss your relationship with your ex-boyfriend and former 'Wizards of Waverly Place' co-star, David Henrie." Tom spoke up.
"I already made it clear that I wasn't going down that path." She said annoyed reminding them.
"But Selena, it could have a significant impact on your future image. Many of your fans didn't approve of your previous relationship with her." Tom persisted.
"As I've said before, I couldn't care less about your opinions on my personal life. It's none of your business who I choose to date or not." She deadpanned.
"Until further notice, you are released from your record deal with Interscope." Jeff, her boss said.
"You can't be serious! You can't do this!" She said raising her voice.
"I have the power to make this decision, and I just did." Jeff calmly replied.
"I promise I'll end things with her. Please, don't do this." She pleaded.
"Let's make a deal right now." Tom interjected.
"What kind of deal are we talking about?" She asked.
"You know, David wasn't exactly certain about tying the knot, and that uncertainty ultimately led to your breakup. He hasn't uttered a word to the press," He revealed.
"I can handle that, but what's Eugenia's role in all of this?" She inquired curiously.
"Well, when she came to check up on you, you found comfort in her embrace. And then, well, you two rekindled your relationship," Tom explained.
"That explanation does seem plausible," She admitted, nodding in agreement.
"Alright then, have a fantastic day," He said, extending his hand for a farewell handshake.
She reciprocated the gesture, shaking his hand before heading back to her apartment. As she closed the door behind her, she made her way to the kitchen to enjoy a well-deserved breakfast.
As Selena sat down at the table, she eagerly indulged in the delicious meal she had prepared. The past few weeks had been nothing short of chaotic for her, but she wouldn't have it any other way.
Lost in her thoughts, she continued to savor each bite while scrolling through her phone. Suddenly, a picture caught her eye - a delightful moment captured of herself enjoying a popsicle in the aisles of a grocery store.
Excitedly, she decided to share this delightful memory with her Instagram followers. She smiled softly.
After finishing her meal, Selena placed the dishes in the sink and carefully stowed her phone in her bag. With her keys in hand, she made her way to the door, to drive to her friend's house for a party.
As she arrived, she knocked on the door and was warmly greeted by Ashley, who enveloped her in a hug. Passing her bag to Ashley, Selena stepped outside to grab a drink from the bar.
Taking a seat, she ordered her beverage. She struck up a conversation with friend Alfredo, who happened to be acquainted with her ex, Justin Bieber.
"Are you excited for the album release?" Alfredo inquired.
"Absolutely! I've missed working on my music and being on stage," Selena replied with enthusiasm.
"I can't wait to see you perform," Alfredo exclaimed.
"I'm going all out for this album, with big plans in store," Selena said, taking a sip of her drink.
Alfredo nodded, scanning the backyard to find another friend to chat with. Selena ran her fingers through her hair, letting out a contented sigh.
She couldn't wait to reunite with Eugenia, as they had been apart for a few days due to her schedule and helping her cousin Priscilla get engaged. Just as she was lost in her thoughts, Theresa pulled her into a warm embrace.
Returning the hug, Selena beamed at Theresa, who returned the smile. She looked at her.
"Selena?" A voice called out, causing her to turn around.
Instinctively, she crossed her arms over her chest, unsurprised to see the person standing before her. She rolled her eyes.
"Hey, Justin," She greeted with a forced smile.
"I heard you're single now," He said, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips.
"It's true, I'm single again, but that doesn't mean I'm getting back with you," She replied firmly.
"Come on, don't be like that, babe," Justin pleaded, a sly grin spreading across his face.
"I love someone else. I don't want to see you ever again," She said, her eyes glaring at him as he winked in return.
She rolled her eyes and swiftly turned on her heels. Alfredo, standing nearby, flashed her a reassuring smile, which she gratefully returned as she made her way towards the door.
"I need you in my life, Lena," Justin pleaded, grabbing her arm.
"Don't touch me. You don't get to call me that after what you did," She warned, pushing him away and striding towards her car.
As she reached for the car handle, she felt a gentle hand on her arm. She turned to see Alfredo, concern etched on his face.
"Are you okay, Sel?" He asked, his voice filled with genuine worry.
"No, I'm not okay. He thinks he just waltz in back to my life as if he didn't hurt me or break my heart repeatedly," She replied, her voice tinged with frustration.
"I'll tell him to back off from you," Alfredo promised, his tone filled with determination.
"I'll see you around. Please apologize to Ashley for me leaving early," She said, sliding into the car and driving off towards her apartment.
After shutting off the engine, made her way inside the cozy house. With each step, she could feel the warmth enveloping her.
As she entered the living room, decided to switch on the TV, craving some entertainment. Engrossed in a captivating show, she gradually drifted into a peaceful slumber.
