This is one of my favorite chapters. Hope you enjoy it.

Selena prepared for the Grammy's, she made her way to the limo with excitement building inside her. Upon arrival, was greeted by her dear friend Taylor Swift, the two posed for pictures before heading into the venue side by side.

Taylor kicked off the show with an incredible opening number, leaving Selena clapping in awe once she finished. The rest of the night was filled with laughter and joy as the two friends enjoyed the festivities.

As the night came to a close, Taylor was awarded two well-deserved awards, one of which brought Selena to tears. Overwhelmed with pride, Selena couldn't express how happy she was for her friend's success.

After a night of excitement and celebration, the show came to a close, leading to a series of unforgettable after parties. Selena, feeling the exhaustion creeping in, made her way back to her cozy apartment, shutting the door behind her.

With a sigh of relief, she carefully hung her dazzling dress on a hanger, placing it gently in the closet. The softness of her bed beckoned her, and she couldn't resist its allure.

Closing her eyes, she drifted off into a peaceful slumber. As the sun rose, casting its warm glow through the windows, Selena stirred from her sleep and the anticipation of heading back home filled her heart, and she eagerly prepared a delicious breakfast.

With her bags neatly packed, she made her way to the car. Parking in the driveway, Selena stepped out of the car, feeling a sense of familiarity wash over her.

She pressed the doorbell, patiently waiting for someone to welcome her inside. The sound of the door swinging open greeted her ears, and a smile spread across her face.

"Hey Selena," Her stepdad Brian greeted, opening the door for her to come in.

"Hey there," She replied, embracing him in a warm hug.

"How are you doing?" He asked, returning the hug.

"I'm good," She answered, stepping back.

"How was the drive?" He asked.

"I'm tired a little bit," She admitted, running a hand through her hair.

Brian nodded understandingly, watching as Selena exhaled deeply. She walked past him to greet her younger sister Gracie.

Selena made her way to her old bedroom and collapsed onto the bed, shaking her head in disbelief. She sighed.

She couldn't believe how foolish she had been, letting Eugenia go without a second thought. She realized now that she should have fought harder.

Getting up from the bed, she headed to the living room. Brian raised an eyebrow as she walked past him towards the door.

"You going out?" He asked curiously.

"I'll be back in a bit," She replied, continuing on her way.

Selena went to the park, sitting down on a bench and letting out a sigh. She ran a hand through her hair, shaking her head in frustration.

Taking her cell phone out of her pocket, dialed Samuel's number. She took a deep breath, hearing his voice on the other end.

"Hello?" He answered.

"It's Selena. I'm ready to go on that date now," She said.

"I thought you told me you weren't over her," He reminded her.

"Not anymore. I'm moving on," She lied, hoping he would believe her.

"See you tonight," Samuel said.

"Bye," He said.

Selena hung up the phone and stood up from the bench. She walked home with a grin on her face, excited for her date with Samuel and picked out an outfit and opened the door when he arrived.

"You look amazing, Selena," He said.

"Thank you so much," She replied closing and locking the door behind her.

He led her to the car and opened the passenger side door. They arrived at the restaurant, holding hands and ignoring the paparazzi taking pictures.

They sat down at a table and talked for a little bit. Selena laughed when he told a funny joke, trying to act happy on this date.

But then, her mood changed. She frowned and smiled trying to hide her true feelings.

"I'm sorry," She apologized.

"What's wrong?" He asked, his face filled with concern.

"I can't do this. I apologize for taking up your time tonight," She uttered, rising from the table.

"Please, Sel, don't go," Samuel pleaded, blocking the exit.

"I'm trying to develop feelings for you, but I can't force myself to do it. I still have lingering feelings for her even though she's moving on," Selena explained, letting out a sigh.

"Why did you ask me out tonight in the first place?" He asked.

"I thought I could overcome my feelings and potentially move forward. But I realized I couldn't," She confessed.

"I can't believe you're using me for your own advantage," He exclaimed, drawing attention from the other patrons in the restaurant.

"I regret this. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me someday," Selena whispered under her breath.

"I have to go now," Samuel said, placing money on the table.

"I hope we can still be friends," Selena said.

"I need to depart before I say something I'll regret," Samuel stated.

"I never intended to hurt you," Selena admitted, feeling guilty for using him as a rebound.

"You really know how to spare my feelings," He said, his voice dripping with sarcasm, left the restaurant.

"Fuck," She muttered quietly, trailing behind him, her frustration evident.

Running his fingers through his tousled hair, he let out a sigh of exasperation. She chose to remain silent, not wanting to worsen his already distressed state.

Samuel stood directly in front of her. She started to nervously twirl the fabric of her dress, avoiding his gaze.

"Did you ever feel more than just friendship towards me?" He asked, making her meet his eyes.

"I tried to develop some feelings for you, but no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to move on," She confessed, her voice filled with a mix of sadness and resignation.

"I hope you find happiness with her," He uttered softly, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead and took a step back.

"I hope so too," Selena whispered, her words barely audible, as he climbed into his car and drove away.

She wrapped her arms around herself, appreciating his understanding amidst the chaos. She knew she didn't deserve a friend as loyal and kind as him.

Selena strolled along the bustling sidewalk, taking in the sights and sounds of the city. As she glanced around, her heart skipped a beat when she spotted her ex-boyfriend Justin approaching her and pivoted on her heels, changing her course to head in the opposite direction.

Selena continued her leisurely stroll through the California streets, she couldn't help but notice the temperature dropping slightly. She shivered, wrapping her arms around herself for warmth.

Determined to distract herself from the chill, she decided to seek refuge in a nearby diner and sat down. Selena pulled out her phone, intending to catch up on her social media accounts.

However, after a few minutes of mindless scrolling, grew bored. She slipped her phone back into her pocket.

Out of nowhere, a random guy approached her with a smug smirk on his face. Selena rolled her eyes and shot him a glare.

"Leave me alone, douchebag. I'm not in the mood for your crap tonight," She spat out, her frustration evident.

"You stupid bitch." He said, walking aaway

Selena muttered a curse under her breath, her anger still simmering. She turned her attention to the waitress who had just arrived at her table.

"It will be ten dollars," She said.

Selena handed her a ten-dollar bill, flashing a small smile. She looked at her.

"Keep the change," She said graciously.

As the waitress walked away to fulfill her request, Selena couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over her. Taking a sip of her water, she savored the refreshing taste.

She decided to continue her walk, water bottle in hand. As she strolled through the streets, Selena took in her surroundings, appreciating the quiet solitude.

She paused for a moment, taking another sip from her water bottle and wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. She turned around and looked at someone.

Her eyes widened with surprise, a mix of shock and anticipation filling her gaze. She parted her lips, ready to speak, but before she could utter a word, was interrupted.

"Hey, Selena," Eugenia greeted, her eyes scanning Selena from head to toe.

"Where's your girlfriend at?" She spat out, her tone laced with bitterness.

"I don't have a one," She replied, her voice steady.

Without missing a beat, Selena downed her water bottle, tossing it effortlessly into a nearby trash can. Confusion etched across her ex's face.

"Cut it out," She said rolling her eyes.

"What are you even talking about?" Eugenia asked.

"You called her babe and held her hand, Eugenia. It's obvious you two are a thing," She said, disappointment tainting her words.

"Wow, seriously?" She questioned, her voice tinged with disbelief.

"Yeah, dead serious," Selena affirmed.

"You still look really hot when you're jealous. I miss that look on your face." She said.

"I am not jealous. Right now, I am happy with someone who makes me happier than you ever did!" Selena lied, her words filled with regret as soon as they left her mouth.

The confession hung in the air, causing Eugenia's eyes to widen in astonishment. A flicker of hurt passed through her gaze, and grimaced, trying to conceal her sadness.

"I hope you are happy with whoever you are seeing. They're lucky to have you," She managed to say, her voice tinged with a hint of sorrow.

"I hope you find someone, Eugenia," Selena said, taking a step closer.

Eugenia blinked, feeling tears welling up in her eyes. Selena found herself instinctively pulling Eugenia into a comforting embrace, as if nothing bad had ever happened between them.

They held each other tightly, but as their eyes locked. Selena's gaze involuntarily drifted to her lips and leaned in.

"Selena," Eugenia whispered, their lips briefly touching.

But Selena pulled away immediately. She sighed shaking her head.

"I can't do this," Selena said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I'm not dating anyone. I can't get over you," She admitted, her vulnerability on full display.

"I know how you feel. I lied about dating someone," Selena confessed, her eyes locked onto Eugenia's.

"I'm sorry about the lie," She expressed with sincerity, her eyes filled with regret.

"Is that so?" She questioned, her curiosity piqued, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

"Yes, I truly am sorry," She whispered, her voice barely audible, her shoulders slumping in guilt.

"You sure?" Eugenia said.

"Yeah," She said quietly.

"Why didn't you fight for our marriage then?!" Eugenia exclaimed, her frustration evident, her voice laced with hurt.

"I should have never let you leave us. I should have fought against the divorce, especially since I filed the papers that morning," Selena regretfully admitted, gently touching her cheek, her eyes welling up with tears.

"You shattered my heart into a million pieces, Selena Marie Gomez," Eugenia whispered, her voice trembling as she sniffled, her hands trembling with emotion.

"I'm so sorry for not fighting for our marriage," She whispered, her gaze fixed on her, her heartache visible in her eyes.

"I thought you were the one," Eugenia said, unable to meet her eyes, her voice filled with longing.

"You will always be the love of my life. I'm such a coward for walking away," Selena said, shaking her head in self-disappointment, her voice filled with regret and self-blame.

"Why did you do walk away?" She asked, her eyes glancing on her.

"I thought we would both find more happiness if we weren't together anymore," She admitted, running a hand through her hair.

"You thought I would be happier without you as my wife?!" Eugenia screamed, her voice filled with disbelief.

She began to pound on her chest, but the pain seemed to have no effect on her. She kept doing it.

"I was only thinking about what was best for us in the end," Selena defended, pushing her away.

"I can't believe you threw our marriage away because you didn't love me," She said, shaking her head in disappointment.

"Of course I loved you, Eugenia!" Selena yelled, her voice filled with raw emotion.

"Oh, really? That's a fantastic way of showing your love!" She shouted back, her anger boiling over.

"You know why I did it!" She yelled, her voice filled with a mix of frustration and desperation.

"Why did you break my heart? Care to explain?" Eugenia asked, placing her hands on her hips.

"I already told you why I had to end our marriage," Selena replied, crossing her arms over her chest and rolling her eyes.

"That's a load of crap, and we both know it," Eugenia retorted.

"Please don't make me say something I'll regret," Selena said, trying to hold back her anger.

"You can't handle the truth, can you?" Eugenia muttered.

"I felt unsatisfied in our relationship. I didn't think you were capable of being mature, and that's why I was unfaithful," Selena admitted with a sigh.

"Well, it's nice to know how much our marriage really meant to you," Eugenia said sarcastically rolling her eyes.

"That's not what I meant, and you know it," Selena whispered, rubbing her temple to calm herself down.

"I'll see you around then," Eugenia said, turning to leave.

"Wait, let me apologize for what I said. I didn't mean it," Selena said quietly.

"You've already said enough. I was in pain when you asked me to sign the divorce papers," Eugenia replied.

"I don't want to lose you again. We can fix this," Selena pleaded.

"You lost me twice before. I don't know if we can get back the love we had. But I'll always love you, Selena Marie Gomez," Eugenia said, placing a kiss on her cheek before walking away.

Selena watched her go, feeling a sense of loss wash over her. She headed to her mother's house, trying not to disturb her family and once inside her bedroom, replayed the conversation in her head.

She whispered before promising to move on. She got into bed to sleep.

"I thought you were the one,"
