Different
~ The Next Day ~
As I entered the Park Enterprise building, I got into the elevator and headed up like usual.
Reaching Jimin's office, I suddenly heard furious yelling from inside of the room.
"I TOLD YOU NOT TO SCREW UP THIS PROJECT!!!"
I anxiously gulped, fearful of Jimin's loud voice.
I stopped in my footsteps and contemplated on whether to go in or not.
Suddenly, I heard something harshly shatter on the ground.
I gasped and quickly opened the door to see what happened, only to see Jimin fiercely clenching his fists and glaring at a quivering girl worker on the ground.
I shifted my eyes on the glass vase shattered all over the floor.
Although I knew I shouldn't be interfering, I knew I couldn't just let this poor worker suffer like this.
I hurriedly rushed over to her and bent down onto the ground.
"Are you okay?! Are you injured?!" I asked worriedly.
She was quivering with fear and she was a crying mess.
I felt terrible.
"Yeona, get out." Jimin demanded, pointing towards the door with his index finger.
Hearing his hostile remark, I shot a deadly glare at him.
"How can you do this your worker?! Look at her! She's crying because of you!" I angrily yelled at him.
Jimin folded his arms and furrowed his eyebrows, shooting a glare right back at me.
"This doesn't concern you. Mind your own business Yeona."
I tightly clenched my fists.
"You're so heartless." I said.
I helped the girl worker stand up and headed towards the door with her, not caring whether I was going to be scolded by Jimin or not.
But I suddenly felt a forceful grip on my arm, making me stop in my footsteps.
I turned around to see an agitated looking Jimin.
"What do you think you're doing? I'm not done talking to her yet." He said, obviously annoyed by me not following his orders.
I harshly pulled my arm out of his grip and scoffed.
"I'm sure you've traumatized her enough."
With that, I left his office with the girl.
Reaching a couch located in front of the elevator, I made her sit down and I gently stroked her back to calm her down.
"Are you okay?" I asked, looking at her with concern.
She sighed as she wiped her tears away.
"T-Thank you.." She quietly muttered.
I warmly smiled at her and shook my head.
"It's nothing. I couldn't just leave you being tortured like that." I said.
The girl stayed silent, staring at me with a rather amazed expression plastered on her face.
"H-How are you able to handle him?" She curiously asked.
I raised an eyebrow in utter confusion.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Are you not afraid of him?" She asked.
"Of course not. He's just an unfair jerk, but I can handle him." I said, letting out a small chuckle.
She looked at me with great admiration in her eyes.
"You're really brave Yeona..."
I widened my eyes.
"How do you know my name?" I asked as I cocked my head.
The girl chuckled.
"You're very famous in this company. Everyone knows you as the only assistant that didn't run out of the company crying on her first day."
I bursted into laugh, finding out I had such reputation.
"Wow, I feel like a celebrity." I jokingly said.
She let out a laugh.
"Oh! I'm Choi Eunha by the way." She said as she introduced herself, giving me a soft smile.
"Nice to meet you Eunha." I said as I smiled back at her.
Checking her watch on her wrist, she suddenly gasped in shock.
"Oh I have to get back to work!" She said, quickly standing up from the couch.
"Thank you again for saving me Yeona! Bye!" She said as she hurriedly bowed at me and left.
After Eunha was out of my sight, I let out a deep sigh.
"Well, now I have to go and see that brutal boss of mine" I said, lazily standing up from the couch as I gloomily walked towards Jimin's office.
As I got to his door, I suddenly heard voices talking from the inside.
I couldn't help but eavesdrop.
"Hey, don't you think you're being too mean to your workers Jiminnie?"
Oh, it's just Jin.
"I mean, look at the vase you threw on the ground. Don't you think you're a bit too aggressive?" Jin asked.
I heard Jimin let out a scoff.
"I could care less about my workers. It's Eunha's fault for not listening to my orders." He said.
"And if it wasn't for my stupid assistant, I would've been able to teach Eunha a lesson."
I rolled my eyes.
Stupid assistant huh.
I heard Jin let out a laugh.
"Yeona's so different from any other assistants you've ever had. She's brave and caring, I like it." He said.
I couldn't help but smile from his heart-warming compliment.
"Well I don't like her. I'm just not firing her because I really need an assistant." Jimin said.
"Yeona irritates the hell out of me I swear. She's rude, she talks back, she's annoying.." He said as he began talking crap about me.
Feeling great rage and hatred boiling up inside of me, I tightly clenched my fists and furrowed my eyebrows.
That crossed the line.
I forcefully barged into the room, causing Jin and Jimin to look at me in astonishment.
"Well well, your rude ass assistant is here your majesty." I said, shooting a fatal glare at Jimin.
The two of them just stared at me with greatly widened eyes.
I'm pretty sure they could see how enraged I was by the look on my face.
"Y-Yeona! I'm so glad to see you again!" Jin said, breaking the awkward silence.
"Mhm." I said, not taking my eyes off of Jimin even for a split second.
I guess Jin felt uncomfortable with the great tension in the room, because he slowly began to head towards the door.
"W-Well would you look at the time! I'll get going Jimin, Byeo!" He said as he hurriedly rushed out of room and shut the door.
I still didn't take my eyes off of Jimin.
"What?" Jimin asked, raising an eyebrow at me in irritation.
"You're seriously so rude, you know that?" I said, placing my hand on my waist.
"I've been told." He said as he rolled his eyes.
"Don't you think you should apologize for what you said about me?" I said in an agitated tone.
"Why? It's the truth." Jimin said as he shrugged his shoulders.
That did it.
I furiously walked up to Jimin, and gave him a hard slap on his face.
"What the hell?!" He yelled as he held his cheek in pain.
"Who the fuck gave you the right to slap me like that?!" He angrily shouted.
I let out a scoff of disbelief.
"And who the fuck gave you the right to talk crap about me behind my back?"
Before Jimin could utter a single word, I turned around, walked away, and left his office.
