A Lie
~ Yeona's POV ~
I gradually opened my eyes, seeing the radiant sunlight shining in through my window.
I lazily sat up and looked at the time.
10:00 am.
I didn't have the energy or strength to go to work, so I decided to just stay home for today.
I rubbed my eyes, getting off of my bed and heading over to the restroom.
I looked at myself in the mirror and noticed how puffy and swollen my eyes were from crying last night.
Remembering last night stung my heart.
I couldn't forget the look on Jimin's face.
All I saw was bitter anguish.
Suddenly, my phone rang, startling me a bit.
I picked up and answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hey, where are you?"
It was Jungkook.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I went to your work to see if you were there and you weren't. And by hearing your raspy voice, I'm guessing you just woke up?" He asked.
"Yeah... Sorry, I'm just too tired to go to work.." I said, trying to hide the fact that I just didn't want to see Jimin.
I knew that if I saw him, my heart would break all over again.
"Well, you better hurry up and open your door cause I'm right in front of your house." Jungkook said.
I widened my eyes and hurriedly rushed downstairs.
I immediately opened the door, revealing Jungkook standing there with his hands in his pocket.
"Ah, look at you. You're a mess." He said as he reached out his hand, gently fixing my hair.
I blushed at his gentle touch.
I didn't know how Jungkook managed to make me feel butterflies in my stomach even at my worst state.
"Yeona, you alright? Your eyes are swollen... Did you cry last night?" He worriedly asked.
I gulped.
"I-I don't want to talk about it..." I sadly muttered as I grievously looked down.
"Keeping it to yourself is going to make you feel worse." Jungkook said, forcefully pushing me into my house and shutting the door.
"Now tell me." He said, giving me a concerned look.
I hesitated, but I decided to tell him.
"J-Jimin broke up with me..."
Jungkook widened his eyes, and his expression softened.
"B-But why?" He confusedly asked.
I nervously bit my lip.
I was really hoping he wouldn't ask me that.
I really didn't want to tell him, but I had to get it off of my chest.
I took a deep breathe, and looked up at him.
"Because... I-I like you..."
Jungkook froze, his eyes growing larger as he stood there completely speechless.
My cheeks flared up as I shyly looked down, apprehensively shutting my eyes.
I was afraid to hear what he was going to say.
Suddenly, I heard him let out a scoff.
"Awe, you fell for me already? That's no fun."
I quickly looked up, looking at him in utter astonishment.
"W-What?"
"Yeona, the only reason I became close to you was to see if I could make you fall for me." Jungkook said, displaying an arrogant smirk on his face.
"Jin couldn't do it, but I knew I could." He cockily said as he shrugged his shoulders.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
I clenched my fists as I began to tremble with anger.
"So you're saying, this whole thing was a lie? The roses, the flirts, the sweet compliments, the kindness, it was all just a joke?" I asked, feeling my rage boiling up inside of me every second.
Jungkook scoffed, giving a smug look.
"Yeona, you're just a game to me."
That did it.
My affection towards him completely disappeared.
All I felt was hatred and abomination towards Jungkook.
I raised my hand, giving him a hard slap on his face.
"Fuck you." I said, glaring at him with nothing but enmity in my eyes.
Jungkook slowly looked at me, holding his cheek in pain.
"How dare you slap me? It's your fucking fault for falling for me." He said, shooting me a fatal glare.
I scoffed as I placed my hand on my waist, looking at him in utter disbelief.
"You sure are one heartless bastard."
Jungkook rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"Okay, and?"
I couldn't believe him.
He was literally the definition of cruel.
"Get the fuck out of my house, and never show up in front of me again." I demanded as I pointed towards my door for him to leave.
"Whatever." Jungkook said as he shrugged his shoulders, walking over to my door, and leaving my house.
As soon as he closed the door, my expression softened.
The tears I was holding back all flowed down my face like a waterfall.
I cried my heart out, slowly wiping my tears away.
"I'm so stupid... I'm so stupid..." I said over and over again, weakly crouching down on the floor.
~ Jin's POV ~
I was on my way to Yeona's house to give her some cookies I made, then I saw Jungkook angrily come out of her house.
I hurriedly walked over to him and called him.
"Jungkook!"
He looked at me, and I noticed that one side of his cheek was extremely red.
"What happened?" I worriedly asked.
"I don't want to talk about it." He said as he looked away from me with his eyebrows furrowed.
"D-Did Yeona do that?" I reluctantly asked, referring to his cheek.
"Yeah. She did." He said, nodding his head in agreement.
I knew Yeona wouldn't do such a thing for no apparent reason.
I knew she wasn't like that.
"What did you do to her?" I asked.
Jungkook scoffed, innocently shrugging his shoulders.
"I didn't do any-"
I forcefully grabbed him by the collar, pulled him closer to me, and glared at him directly in his eyes.
"I said, what the fuck did you do to her?"
Jungkook fearfully gulped.
His eyes shifted away from mine as he reluctantly bit his lower lip.
"I-I made her fall for me... making Jimin break up with her.." He confessed as his voice trembled.
With that, I swung my arm at him, giving him a hard punch on his face.
Jungkook fell to the ground and groaned in pain.
"I fucking warned you." I said, walking away from him and rushing over to Yeona's door.
