She frowned but didn't turn around.

It's probably some person talking to someone else.

She remained standing on the rail looking over the river.

"Please, can you just come down from there. You have a family who loves you and cares for you. It's not a bad life. It's just a bad day. Please."

Alexis' frown deepened as she remained standing there. There was someone; a stranger, who was a males voice, that was actually talking to her.

"Did you hear me?"

Footsteps.

"Please come down."

Came.

"Miss?"

Closer.

"Can you hear me?"

Finally Alexis turned around and jumped down from the rail a little too fast making the guy step back startled. She stared at him and raised her eyebrows.

"Thank you." He simply said gritting his teeth making his jaw clench and released a long breath to which Alexis was surprised.

She took the time to take in his appearance; beautiful dark caramel skin, soft hair, 6 something, around her age, dark brown eyes and a killer jaw line with a slender built.

All in all; he was a very handsome boy. Period.

"What?" Alexis slurred a little looking at him in anger. The alcohol in her hadn't fully worn off yet but she was good enough to call it sober.

"Ah- well um I couldn't let you jump." He said in a duh tone.

"Oh you thought-" Alexis snickered point back towards the rail where she was standing on a minute ago, "-that I was gonna jump?"

"Well-" the guy frowned his thick eyebrows and licked his lips frowning.

She gave a small laugh. Not the kind of laugh you do when something humorous happens, the kind of laugh where you're mocking someone laugh.

"Oh no. I just do that all the time but I guess you had no idea. But thank you though, for your.... little speech. I think I needed the reminder." She shrugged and put her lips into a thin line. Moving back, she grabbed her backpack, slung one strap over her left shoulder and started walking away in the direction to her house when she stopped.

"Oh and if you're trying to save someone from jumping off a cliff-" she said without looking back, "-don't bother talking them down. Just grab them and drag em to the side. Trust me, it's way better."
