Amber saw Alexis. Amber read the look on her face; Alexis was hurt, broken and bruised all at the same time inside. She knew what that felt like. She knew what living, breathing and walking around acting like nothing was wrong felt like. It was all so familiar. She saw Alexis, her glassy eyes now and again, when people would walk past her calling her names.

Why is she so fucking weak? Amber would ask.

Amber was sick of it, sick or watching Alexis let people trample on her. Sick of watching Alexis keep crying like a baby at every little thing everyday.

"What's up?" Amber said when she met Alexis at lunch near her locker.

Amber was wearing a mini skirt with sneakers and a crop top showing off her belly ring.

Alexis turned around half expecting the person standing near her locker to be Amber.

"Hi." She simply stated and turned around slamming her locker and walking towards the girls stall.

"What's wrong?" Amber asked as they both entered the girls bathroom stall.

Alexis walked to the sink and splashed water on her face. Looking back up to the mirror, she took in her reflection. Her dark skin tone went a little pale, not the type of hot brown and honey anymore but the type of warn out brown cloth. Her hair was crusty and her lips; were dry and cracked. Her eyes looked like they were volcanoes awaiting to erupt and her face, lack of make up. She sighed hanging her head and resting her palms on the sink.

"How can you be so....fine?" Alexis whispered and turned around to Amber who was just looking at her with a resting face.

"What do you mean?" Amber simply asked raising her eyebrow.

Alexis scoffed. "About this. All of this. How can you just walk around like nothing bad has happened?"

Amber shrugged, "I've encountered worse things believe me."

Alexis shook her head is disagreement, "You don't even get it Amber. A life was lost. A mother lost her daughter. Some people  lost their sibling. Everyone lost either a friend or enemy but we all lost a good person!"

Ambers face hardened, "Don't start freaking lecturing Alexis. Okay? Don't give me that "they lost a daughter speech." Truth is the mom wasn't even crying at the funnel ok. She wasn't sad. Those people that went to attend the funeral, they were all fake. They never cared about Wendy at all. You wanna know why? Because she was a bitch. And when you're a bitch; you're mean and you're selfish and you're a slut even if you're a virgin!"

She scoffed again, "She didn't deserve that believe me I really mean it. But the reality is, no one cares about you unless you're pretty or you're just dead."
