Chapter 67
Jimin and SoYi had just arrived at their school in Jimin's car and after finding a place to park, they got out in silence as they had been most of the way.
SoYi was feeling very tired and sleepy even though she had managed to get five hours of sleep thanks to Jungkook and his voice, which had surprised her a lot. Of course, she hadn't said anything about it yet because she didn't have the time to discuss it with him.
So despite sleeping, she had a terrible headache and didn't feel rested enough, making her walk around like a zombie that wasn't fully in touch with her surroundings.
Jimin on the other hand was silent because he too hadn't slept much and had also been working on Jungkook and his muscles first thing in the morning. Of course, what had ruined his mood, wasn't the physical tiredness because he was used to that but it was his emotional state that had gone downhill because of his girlfriend.
"SoYi!" he looked up and noticed that SoYi had walked way ahead of him and called her name making SoYi turn her head and give him a bored look.
"I forgot to tell you. Here's a chart I made of the things you need to read to be able to build the beginning of your paper. Your project guide. "He told her and hurriedly opened the bag looking for the folder he had prepared for her, with clear instructions so he had tried to make it as understandable as possible and detailed.
"You can use our library at home. You have every book you'll need," he added as SoYi took the folder from his hands and gave him a smile full of relief because the stress of this assignment was already starting to eat away at her and she didn't know where to start even though she knew how the material should be laid out.
"Do you think we'll be able to finish it in time?" She asked him as she opened the folder and as she flipped through it she began to wonder if he was helping her or just loading her with a bunch of stuff to read because what he had assigned her seemed to be too much for just the beginning of a task.
"You'll finish it if you work hard. Your project is going to be excellent if you follow my instructions." Jimin answered her with a smile and his head held high, feeling proud of the fact that he was going to come out of this assignment as a great supervisor.
"Yes, I appreciate that, but don't you think all these books for just the beginning of it, are a bit too-"
"Oh, I have to hurry. I have class and then I have to pass by home again to check on Jungkook. I hope you read all of this and at the end of the week, you can present me with the beginning of your paper. "He told her before starting to walk away down the halls leaving behind a SoYi who still didn't fully understand his words.
At the end of the week...... Six days from now..... What??!!!!
--- change of set---
"Gosh, we're running late. Go faster, faster. " Roel said as she looked at her phone screen and realized they only had ten minutes until her first hour was to start and she and Yoongi had been stuck in traffic for fifteen minutes now.
"It's okay. So what if you miss a lecture? It happens, we are all human."
"Humans who lose track of time while eating breakfast, you mean. It's not even a valid reason" Roel added to his words feeling bad that she was the reason they had departed late from home today. "You should have reminded me that we are running late?"
"You were eating so happily, I didn't want to spoil the moment." Yoongi mused with a smile even though his eyes were ahead, watching the traffic.
Roel watched him in silence for a moment before turning from her window and letting her anxiety go.
"I don't know if anyone has told you, but you're very different from your outward appearance." Roel let these words go with confidence as for as long as she had happened to know him, he had seemed very unlike her first impression of him.
"Why? What is my outward appearance like exactly? " Yoongi raised one of his eyebrows out of curiosity as he looked in her direction for a moment before finally reaching the place where he took the turn to exit the main road.
"Well... on the outside you look like someone who isn't friendly. Your face never shows expressions when you're alone. That is, if someone saw you from afar, they would be afraid to approach you I believe." Roel explained, not wanting to add the fact that his style also carried a strong efficient aura around him.
Everything about him screams 'Don't talk to me'. From his mint hair colour to his black clothes and leather jacket to his facial expressions that almost never look welcoming at first glance. Right down to the tattoo on his arm that although it's in colour combined with the studded bracelets he wears on that arm, make him look like someone you wouldn't want to mess with.
"Strangers should be scared of me. Because that's what I want. If circumstances between us weren't different. If we weren't a family now, I wouldn't have a reason to talk to you and I probably, wouldn't." Yoongi spoke sincerely and although it was understandable to be like that, Roel couldn't help but feel a little hurt by the fact.
"Maybe.... but let me believe that I'm good enough to be your friend even if we weren't family anymore. "She replied, clearly showing that she was a little offended by his words but smiled anyway.
Yoongi stayed silent until he finally brought his car to a stop in the parking lot of their university and then as he saw Roel grabbing her bag to get out of the car, he couldn't help but blurt out a reply.
"It's not that you or anyone isn't good enough to be my friend. It's that I don't want anyone around me anymore."
"Why?" Roel asked him, one foot out of the now open door and the other still inside as her attention had now turned to Yoongi and her eyes were glued to his, curious for knowledge.
"Because...chasing butterflies is a dangerous sport," he replied, pointing to the butterfly tattooed on the outside of his right arm and then he got out of the car, leaving Roel more confused than she had originally been.
---time skip---
Jungkook sat on his bed bored for one more day as the house was empty and he was the only one left behind.
Under other circumstances, this wouldn't have bothered him as he certainly had plenty to do, from swimming to practising at his gym but now that he was recovering his muscles, he wasn't allowed to make any sudden movements yet.
The music playing from his phone was starting to not even enter his ears and his hands were now too tired to play any other games to pass the time.
Oh, why did I wake up so early? How is this day going to pass by? It's only twelve still.
He complained inwardly, regretting the fact that he had forgotten to turn off his alarm clock yesterday and had rung today as if he too had to go to practice today.
Now that he thought about it again though, Jimin was going to wake him up for his massage anyway because he didn't have time to look after him later after all, so he wouldn't have escaped waking up early anyway.
Jungkook ran his hand through his hair annoyed until the sound of the bell reached his ears and made him look towards his door for a moment.
Despite this, he did not move from his seat. Namjoon should be around somewhere, he thought since he had no reason to go out often and he hadn't stayed home to open doors, so he'd just ignore it.
But the doorbell continued to ring somewhat insistently, annoying him a little, until his phone began to vibrate, drawing his attention away from the annoying constant sound.
Once he got the phone in his hands though and saw Anika's name calling him, the world seemed to stop for Jungkook as a ray of happiness hit him.
Carefully he answered the call, trying not to sound nervous from his voice alone.
"Jungkook, hi~. It's Anika. Aren't you home? "Her sweet voice sounded through the speaker of the phone and a smile couldn't help but reach Jungkook's lips along with a feeling of shyness and joy at the fact that she probably thought of him and called him up to see how his situation was.
"H-hey...um...yeah I'm home. Where else would I be in this state," he replied as his hand reached the back of his neck, rubbing the spot awkwardly as if she were in front of him.
"Oh, I've been ringing the bell for so long but no one is answering. I thought I could come by and check on you. Come on, please let me in. I've brought you something for your recovery as well~." She told him cheerfully not knowing the shock she had caused Jungkook at that moment nor the pain it would cause to his muscles as he, literally hurried to get out of bed and ran to open the door for her.
