The world we live in

In the wonderful words of TheMjPrincess

Why has the world become so cruel? How have we become so monstrous and barbaric? Of course, the average person seeing such questions would instantly disregard them- seeing no relation to their own lives.

But the truth is, it's got everything to do with each and every one of us.

You see, over time, the world has developed into a cruel, mean and heartless congregation of acts and ideas. Nowadays, whenever something goes wrong, many people have a habit of saying "Well it's a cruel world."

And I'm ashamed to say that even my closest peers will conclude that if the world is cruel-so should we become.

Now people say it's easier to just toughen up when life beats you to a pulp or when the world turns it's back on you. They say it's testing for you to harden yourself- but what if that were not the case? What if the real testing was to see whether or not we would remain true to ourselves in spite of the harrowing reality around us? What if it was a trial to see whether or not we would still be capable of the love despite the harsh nature of our environment? Do you really believe that's where it should end? That our stories and books should end in one, generic and cruel conclusion.

I can't answer those questions for you, but what I can do is encourage you to NEVER stop questioning. If you believe in something- NEVER lose faith in it, even though your own demons are clawing at you. Let your heart and your innermost beliefs lead the way.

It seems hard at first, but I believe there's something bigger. Bigger than what we're taught, bigger then what we see, and bigger than what, we're shown to be. "reality." But in order to achieve that "something bigger" we all need to build up our dream stamina and shut out all the negativity. After all, imagination is the only weapon in the world against reality.

I feel like I'm ruining this perfection that she has written but I'll add a little extra.

I myself have noticed other's nagging to the younger people about growing an "extra pair of skin," I aware that it's done out of worriedness, but I think that it shouldn't have to necessarily be that way.

When you grow an extra pair of skin you begin to function differently and become less of a human. In a sense of not showing sympathy or being aware that everyone makes mistakes. Why are we all becoming accustomed to saying the never-ending phrase "It's a cruel world?" It's not an excuse for the cruel individuals that are lurking around waiting for one to make a mistake so they use the excuse to be rude. Yes, life does have its downsides, but nowadays it's becoming more downsides than upsides. You have people ending their own lives and people thinking they have to mold into the "world and the other half is barely surviving in this "world." I think that it's ridiculous that we've all pushed aside all of the harsh words in exchange for saying the infamous phrase.

It takes more than one person to stop accepting the cruelness that society has molded onto us. We have to stop allowing this all together if we want to put a permanent end to this. I believe that we should all be able to actually enjoy life without having to come upon the phrase "It's a cruel world," throughout the day.  To me, it seems like no one has fully been able to appreciate life because of all of these mishaps.

What kind of world do you want to be in? One where you go about your day without unnecessary rude remarks or a life where you become acclimated to the jab at your heart that you experience when you receive yet another rude response?

I will have a chapter about women rights and all that jazz coming up soon so be on the look out.
