Dominik and Lev stood outside of the kitchen, arms crossed tightly as they spoke in hushed voices. "Ты должен сказать ей, Доминик," Lev hissed in their native language.

you need to tell her, dominik

The mafia leader sneered, it was the first full day he's been back since his hunt for those responsible for attacking his wife. Early in the morning, Aleksei, Dima, and him presented all the information to Lev for an open discussion on what is the best plan of action. Normally, Dominik made his own decisions almost immediately. But now, reluctantly after realizing Salina's father is the main problem, he consulted with Lev.

"Я полностью осознаю." Dominik bit out as he scratched the back of his neck. At the base of it, Lev caught sight of a hickey on his skin and shuddered in disgust.

i'm fully aware

Seeing this, Dominik smirked. "What? You don't like it? I think it's a nice addition to the collection," he moved the top of the shirt to show the marks all over his collar. His brow raised in amusement when Lev blanched. "Stop it, you defile her."

"Right now I'd say she defiled me," Dominik snickered as he walked backwards into the kitchen. Lev swatted at him as he lifted the bottom of the shirt to show them leading down his abs, Dominik cackled before turning and almost running into his wife. Salina screeched, making sure she didn't spill the mug she was holding.

Dominik covered her hand from the hot coffee that splashed, letting it burn him instead. Salina hissed and held his hand, "You idiot, you need a new bandage now."

He grunted and let her cut off the bandage covering the stab wound on his hand, taking the new bandages she'd passed over begrudgingly. "I made you coffee," Salina reminded him as she was in the middle of flat ironing her hair.

She was dressed casually, Dominik loved seeing every side of her through her outfits. Salina dressed to the nines and took great care in how she presented herself, while it benefited them both business wise he knew she did it for herself. And that's what made him appreciate it most. But these casual outfits that made her look even more at home in their house made everything more surreal about their marriage. It was like he could see her in every inch of the house.

Salina ignored his staring as usual, half of her hair was pinned up so she could finish it. She passed Lev a cup of the tea he liked while Aleksei and Dima walked in. She walked out to grab another hair clip as Dominik grabbed his new favorite mug from the cupboard.

When Aleksei caught sight of it, he immediately opened his mouth when he saw the misshapen, bumpy ceramic mug. Dominik glared sharply at him, "Watch your words carefully. When she comes in you tell her this is the best goddamn mug you've ever fucking seen. Matter of fact? Don't say shit because she'll know you're lying. She's got a fucking sixth sense or something and she barely let me keep this one." Dominik held the mug protectively. It was a nice navy blue, his favorite color, and DA + SC was painted at the bottom. He'd found it in the trash by the kiln he bought her last week and had to wrestle it away from her to keep it.

Aleksei covered his mouth, snorting loudly as Dima elbowed him. "It's nice boss." Dominik only sneered at them, filling it with coffee as his wife walked back in to sit at the counter and straighten her hair while everyone ate the breakfast she made with Lev. But she paused when everyone was already looking at her. She faltered, her sneaky eyes darting from Dominik sipping on his coffee and the other three looking at her.

"You're very good at pottery, hun," Lev smiled genuinely but Aleksei cackled loudly. Snarling, Dominik chucked the nearest thing- a plate- at Aleksei's head to which he ducked as Salina began yelling. "I told you to throw it away, Dominik!" He winced as her voice pitched with her anger.

Salina lunged for it, but he lifted it up out of her reach as they both glared at one another. "Never," he pressed his hand to her forehead and kept her out of reach as he drank from the mug. Salina wound up and smacked at his hand relentlessly before he let her go, he chuckled down at her before slapping his hand against her ass when she turned away.

"I hate you," she murmured as her face went hot knowing that the others had seen her piss poor attempt at getting back into pottery. "Don't lie, baby," Dominik grinned as everyone else settled down. Aleksei cleaned up the shattered plate on the ground before he patted Salina on the back with a smirk. "I do think it's cute," he assured her. Salina rest her cheek on her fist and ignored him while Dominik sat down besides her at the bar.

When everyone was done eating at the counter, Lev shot Dominik a look. Sighing loudly, he gestured his head towards the door. Salina glanced up as everyone thanked her for breakfast and Dominik began dragging her chair closer. He bent down to press his face against her shoulder, smelling the heat off of her hair and huffing. Still he grazed his hands up her shorts that she wore and toyed with where he felt the hem of her underwear. "Domo," Salina moaned and rubbed his shoulders while trying to keep his attention.

"Yes, baby," he kissed her jaw. She deadpanned and pulled back to look at him, "You have something to talk to me about."

Dominik did pull away that time, brows risen up a bit as he looked down at her. "You know?"

"I think I know," Salina sighed while resting her arms over his broad shoulders. His eyes softened, leaning forward and resting his forehead against her own. She was careful of his stitches that should be dissolving soon, when she was sure she wasn't irritating them she lifted her hand to cup his cheek. "You can tell me, I'll be okay."

Dominik shut his eyes for a moment, pressing his nose against hers for a moment. "I know you will. I just... I don't know."

Salina fixed his shirt almost meekly, peering up at him through her lashes. "It's called concern for your wife's wellbeing, mon cœur. It's normal," she smiled in amusement. Dominik rolled his lips in thought, leaning forward and kissing her softly. "We got what we needed out of that Irish asshole, your father was in contact with them and knew about the plan," he ripped off the bandaid.

He watched her face. He watched it closely as she sighed, as if she was tired. Her eyes fell shut and her lips almost turned down. Not knowing what else to do, he kissed the ends of her small frown quickly. Salina caressed over his cheekbone, grazing her nails over his freshly shaven face as she processed.

She couldn't find herself to be surprised. But the betrayal did sink in deep, however no tears rose to her eyes as she had none left to give. Of course, of course he'd do this. If Salina wasn't somehow benefiting Laurent in this marriage it makes sense he'd 'want her back'. Typical.

Salina had known as soon as Rory called her Beaumont. She knew in the back of her mind and Dominik has just confirmed it all.

Dominik slid his hand up to the base of her neck, cupping it sternly to focus her attention on him. His other hand held her thighs, "Talk to me, жена. My eсолнышко."

wife, my little sun

Salina laughed quietly while wiping under her nose, sniffling. "You ever going to tell me what the last one means?"

"One day. Now stop deflecting."

Humming quietly, Salina stared up at him with low lidded eyes while sliding into his lap. Groaning, Dominik lent back in his chair and cupped her butt over her shorts. She was in little work out shorts and a tight, cut off sleeve jersey that grazed the tops of her shorts. The outfit made it easy to slide his hands under her shorts and feel her while admiring how beautiful she is on top of him.

"I'm not deflecting, you need to tell me what your plan is going forward." Salina batted her full lashes at him, nibbling on her lip. His response dictated how she would truly feel about this entire situation. If Dominik decided to kill Laurent- which he technically was well in his right to... he's killed for less- then she would not only have to mourn the betrayal of her father but the death of him too.

"I haven't decided."

Salina furrowed her brow, tilting her head in question. Dominik grunted, leaning back as he stared at her. Waiting.

Her eyes widened, her voice coming out quiet. "You waited for me?" It cracked at the end as she looked more shocked at the gesture than her father's plot against her.

Slowly, he nodded at her. Salina thought about that first month they got together, how everything business wise was his way or the highway. He accepted her opinion if she gave it but he'd never asked for it. Or at least, waited for it.

"Thank you," her voice was so quiet only the two of them could hear it as she lent forward to kiss him gently. "I think you have to do what you have to do to keep your reputation intact," she bit her lip as guilt began to weigh on her. This time tears did form at the corners of her eyes. "Of course, I don't want that for my dad. Whether he's shit or not. This entire thing he brought onto himself." She held his face while looking up at him, "If you think... If you think ending it is what you would do if he wasn't my father then that's what you should do. I'm not going to blame you or hold it against you."

Her husband held her hands against his face, kissing both of her palms. "I'm not going to disregard the fact that he's your father. You're my wife, this isn't a normal thing and you don't have to act like it is." He watched her wipe her teary eyes on her shoulders, nodding appreciatively. "We'll compromise and respond accordingly. There's ways to keep him in check without killing him right away."

Salina frowned, "What's to stop him from trying it again?"

"He can try but nothing like that is ever fucking happening again. I'll have it taken care of before it gets to that. Now, please stop crying. The only time I want to see you cry is when it's on my dick, hm?"

Salina's face fell in shock before she punched his chest. Wiping the tears away, she tried to get up as he laughed quietly.

"Just when I think you're getting sentimental, Ivanov!" Her eyes rolled up but amusement simmered in her chest. He chuckled louder and yanked her back into his lap but this time her back was against his chest. Wrapping his arms around her tight, he kissed her neck sweetly.

"C'mon beautiful, you love it. Besides, you know I'll handle everything right? You know that?"

Trying not to get stuck on the use of the word love, she relaxed against him. Slowly, she nodded. "I know, Domo. I'm not worried."

"Good girl," he murmured.

Lev came into the kitchen again a bit awkwardly, Salina then stood up. She brushed her hair behind her ears before looking between the two, "I'm going downstairs before fixing up the garden since I haven't been able to these last few days, get me if you need anything? I'll sit with you after three okay? I'll help with paperwork." She leaned forward and kissed Dominik soundly.

"Ah- before you go. I figured I'd let both of you know who called," Lev held up his phone sheepishly.

Both their eyes narrowed while looking at the older man. Behind him, Dima and Aleksei popped up, looking a little pale in the face.

"You're parents called Dom, they're on their way."
