Long chapter ahead!!
2 years later...
"Come on, when are you guys coming back."
"Soon."
"Ughh, you guys got engaged you didn't actually get married, y'know?"
Taehyung laughs at Jimin, looking over at Jungkook who is still sleeping in bed.
"We'll be back soon. I promise." He says adjusting the sheet he wrapped himself in to take Jimin's call.
"Come back for real. I haven't even gotten to congratulate you in person." Jimin says, obviously pouting. "And tell Jungkook to give your ass a break, this much sex can't be natural."
Taehyung covers his face as he flushes immensely. "Jimin, goodbye."
"Love you. Come back soon." The older laughs.
"We will. Tell Yoongi I asked about him." The brunette says looking over at Jungkook again.
"I will." Jimin says. "Bye."
Taehyung ends the call before walking back to the bed, crawling over to where Jungkook is laying.
The brunette smiles down at him mischievously as he straddles his waist, chuckling as the younger stirs.
"Kookie." Taehyung sing-songs playfully as he trails his hands down his bare chest. "Jungkookie."
"Hm?" The younger hums, still half asleep with his eyes closed.
"Jungkook-ah." The brunette chuckles, leaning down and pressing a kiss to Jungkook's neck. "You have to wake up now."
Jungkook forces his eyes open against the light flowing in past the curtains.
Taehyung sits up and looks down at him again. "Good morning."
"Good morning." Jungkook rasps, stretching his arms over his head. "Why are you up so early?"
"Jimin called. He really wants us to come home." The brunette says. "We've been gone for more than two weeks."
Jungkook smiles as he sits up, wrapping his arms around Taehyung's waist. "I promised everyone they would get to see the resort."
"I know. I'm sure Chaesal will forgive you." Taehyung says, smiling as Jungkook leans his head into the crook of his neck. "I feel like I'm gonna switch."
"That's okay." The younger says pulling away. "I'll get dressed then. You might want to too."
"Okay." The brunette says before crawling off Jungkook's lap. "I'm gonna shower."
"Okay. Be careful." Jungkook says standing from the bed.
It had nearly been three weeks since Jungkook and Taehyung went on their "extravagant getaway" to a resort in Jong-gu.
The trip was originally set to only be a week but then Jungkook kind of made a promise that everyone would be able to enjoy the resort for a little while.
But Taehyung wasn't complaining, he was fronting most of the time and whenever he wasn't he knew someone else was having the experience of a lifetime.
Though it was meant to be a trip celebrating Taehyung and Jungkook's engagement the other alters never felt out of place or like they were invading their privacy, Jungkook made sure of that.
"Hey, hey."
Jungkook looks up to see Jongun strolling out of the bathroom wearing one of the ridiculous tropical shirts that Taehyung hated.
"Jongun. You fronted again." The younger chuckles.
"Duh, you still haven't taken me to the gift shop and we're leaving soon. You promised you'd let me get Vic something." The older says standing in the mirror and ruffling the front of his hair. "Besides, I think I've been the most fun to be around durning this trip. Besides Taehyung probably."
"Why do you say that?" Jungkook asks as he pulls a t-shirt over his head.
"Cause, Hajoon's all 'I just want to sit on the beach and read my boring ass books.'" He says in a snooty voice. "Vic's all 'I can't swim and I hate the way sand feels on my feet.' And Chaehyeon's all 'Hyungie this' and 'Hyungie that' y'know? I'm just chill. I can swim and I love the beach."
"Thanks for that." The younger laughs. "But I enjoyed my time with everyone all the same. And honestly I don't really like the way the sand feels either."
Jongun makes a disgusted sound before walking back to the bathroom. "Boring! You're boring, I can't."
Jungkook shakes his head at him. "Hurry up and get ready. After I take you to the gift shop I have to book our flight home."
"You should just leave and let me stay." Jongun says coming out of the bathroom spraying himself with perfume. "Ew, lavender. He knows I hate lavender."
"Come on, Jongun." Jungkook says sliding his shoes on and grabbing the keycard.
"I'm coming." The brunette says skipping to the door.
It was a quiet day at the resort, it was a weekday so it was bound to be uneventful but Jungkook still took a moment to take in the beautiful scenery.
"So here's the plan." Jongun starts as he walks alongside Jungkook. "I'm feeling switchy and I'm sure there'll be something in the gift shop that's gonna trigger someone else so I'll tell you what I'm planning on getting Vic just in case."
Jungkook nods for him to continue.
"You know how particular Vic is about jewelry so let's steer clear of any of that. And don't get him anything that looks like a souvenir. Maybe a cup or a mug. He likes coffee, right?" The brunette chatters excitedly.
"He's your boyfriend shouldn't you know if he likes coffee?" Jungkook asks.
"Shit, you're right." Jongun sighs.
"I'm sure he'll love anything you get him." The younger says reassuringly as they enter the store. "As long as it's from the heart."
Jongun nods. "I'm gonna browse."
"Stay close, please?" Jungkook says as he walks off.
"Yes sir." The brunette says rolling his eyes obnoxiously.
Jungkook's phone rings and he answers while he looks around the gift shop. "Yes?"
"Wow, you disappear for three weeks and this is how you answer the phone?" Namjoon asks in fake hurt. "What happened to you, Jungkook?"
"Hi, Namjoon." The younger says in a much more lively tone.
"Hi, Jungkook." The older responds in the same tone. "How's Taehyung?"
"He's fine." Jungkook answers. "How's Hobi?"
"He's fine too." Namjoon chuckles. "Any chance you and your fiancé will be returning this week?"
Jungkook hums in thought at he finds Jongun contemplating over a coffee mug and a dream catcher.
"Come on, Kook. It's been three weeks." Namjoon complains. "Three whole weeks. Jimin and Hoseok keep going on and on about celebrating with you guys and I'm sick of hearing it."
"Why are you guys acting like you got engaged?" Jungkook asks. "Can't we celebrate our own engagement for as long as we want to?"
"I also think leaving for a month is a bit much." The older says, obviously messing with Jungkook. "Even Yoongi asked about you guys."
"We really appreciate you guys being so excited for us but we both really needed this." The younger explains. "We'll be back soon. I mean it this time."
"Jungkook-ah, what about this?" Jongun says holding up a dream catcher. "Y'know, for his nightmares."
"That's nice, Jongun." Jungkook nods to the brunette.
"Jongun's there?"
"Yeah."
Over the past two years Namjoon has come to know of Taehyung's disorder. It was almost impossible to hide as everyone got closer and noticed the changes in Taehyung more often.
Namjoon and Hoseok were both accepting of Taehyung and they always went out of their way to make sure they weren't making him uncomfortable but Vic and Hajoon were still not comfortable fronting around them.
Chaesal and Jongun didn't mind as much so usually they'd be fine switching out when they were around.
"Jungkook, I need your full undivided attention." Jongun pouts. "Get off the phone."
"I'm sorry, hyung, we have a seriously life altering decision we need to make concerning a coffee mug and a dream catcher so I'll have to call you back." Jungkook says rolling his eyes at Jongun.
"Fine. But let us know when you're coming home so we can plan something for you guys." Namjoon chuckles.
"Okay, I'll talk to you later." The younger says ending the call. "What is it, Jongun?"
"Purple or blue?" He asks holding up two different dream catchers.
"Purple." Jungkook says. "And, again, he'll like whatever you get him. Trust me, alright?"
"Alright. I'll get the purple one then." Jongun says putting the blue one back. "I just really want him to like it."
"He will." The younger reassures him as they continue to browse. "You really like him don't you?"
"Yeah. I've never felt like this for anyone before except, well...y'know, except for you." The brunette says, a smile still tugging at his lips as they walk around the store.
Jungkook nods, letting silence settle between them despite the awkwardness that follows in its wake.
"Can I ask you something, Jungkook?" Jongun asks after a moment.
"Yeah. Shoot." The younger nods.
"I know we talked and cleared the air between us already it's just...why didn't you just tell me that you had feelings for Taehyung instead of just letting me find out?" Jongun asks.
"I tried to." Jungkook sighs. "So much was happening around that time and you rarely fronted. Before I got the chance Vic came around and I figured you were over me so I just let it go. I'm sorry I didn't try harder to tell you."
"No, it's fine. I kinda always knew." The older shrugs, looking down at the dream catcher in his hands. "I'm not upset about it anymore, now that I have Vic."
"You aren't?"
"No. I'm happy for you guys, I really am."
Jungkook smiles softly at Jongun. "Thank you, Jongun. I'm happy for you and Vic too."
A smile immediately forms on Jongun's lips when Jungkook mentions Vic. "Yeah, thank you. He can be an asshole sometimes but I love him."
"You love him? You really do?" The younger asks, it was the first time he's heard Jongun say he loved Vic.
"Don't make a huge deal about it." The older laughs, rolling his eyes in slight embarrassment. "And don't tell anyone else. I have to tell Vic first."
"Aw, that's so good, Jongun. You're in looooove~" Jungkook sing-songs, earning a playful punch in the arm from Jongun.
"You're so annoying." He groans, a smile on his face as he blushes. "I said don't overreact."
"Okay, okay. I'll stop." The younger chuckles. "Vic's gonna be so happy."
"I hope so." Jongun says. "Let's get out of here, I'm gonna dissociate."
"Okay. Do you want me to pay?" Jungkook asks as they get to the counter.
"I got it." The older says. "Did you want to get anything?"
"No. I'm good." The younger says before letting Jongun get the dream catcher.
Jongun complains about how switchy he was feeling as they leave the gift shop.
"It's probably because we're gonna be heading home soon." Jungkook says.
"True. Y'know, I just don't get travel anxiety." The older says shaking his head. "What's there to be anxious about? I mean...sure the we could get in a terrible car accident or the plane could crash or something like that, but it's completely out of our control if it does happen, so we might as well just have a good time."
Jungkook looks at Jongun. "Lots of people have travel anxiety."
"I'm gonna switch." The older says, blinking a few times. "Here, take this in case it's Vic. And don't let him see."
"Sure." Jungkook says taking the bag from him.
Jongun falls silent as Jungkook leads the way back to their room, he falls behind a few times but Jungkook is patient with him.
When they get to the room Taehyung fronts with a small sigh, pressing his fingers against his temple.
"Hey, you." Jungkook smiles at him as he opens the door.
"Jongun?" The brunette asks as he walks inside.
"Yeah. He wasn't going to let us leave until we got Vic's gift." The younger chuckles. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. Just a little headache." Taehyung sighs, sitting down on the bed, he was still really dissociated. "Um...what did Jongun get Vic?"
"A dream catcher, for his nightmares." Jungkook answers, sitting down next to his fiancé and pulling him into his arms. "You're still dissociated."
"Mhm." The brunette hums hugging him back, laying his head in the crook of his neck. "I'm sorry."
"I already told you about that, Tae." The younger says. "You don't have to be sorry. Just take your time."
Taehyung sighs, giving himself a few minutes to become grounded. "Did you book the flights?"
"No. When Jongun fronted we went straight to the gift shop." Jungkook says, playing with Taehyung's overgrown hair. "I'll do it in a second."
"Vic's scared to fly." The brunette says, pulling away slightly to look up at Jungkook. "But I always trigger him with my travel anxiety."
"I know. He'll be okay. Planes rarely crash and~"
"They crash more often than you think~"
"No they don't, they're safer than cars~"
"I rather crash a car than fall out of the fucking sky, Jungkook." Taehyung argues. "You can't change my mind. You won't."
"Fine, scaredy cat." Jungkook says as he leans in for a kiss.
Taehyung pulls away. "You don't get to kiss me after calling be a scaredy cat," He chuckles, pushing him away.
"How dare you reject me, Kim Taehyung." The younger says narrowing his eyes playfully.
Taehyung laughs just as Jungkook's phone rings. "Ignore it." He says taking Jungkook's face between his hands and kissing him.
Jungkook kisses him back, forgetting about his phone as he places his hand on Taehyung's hip.
"Today's our last day here, Jungkook." The brunette says with a playful smile as he straddles Jungkook. "How are we gonna spend it?"
"I don't know," The younger says as Taehyung kisses his neck. "we could go to the beach, walk along the boardwalk, go on rides~"
The brunette laughs at his suggestions. "Don't be a dork."
"Hey, you don't get to sit in my lap after calling me a dork." Jungkook says pushing Taehyung off of his lap and down onto the bed, the older squeaking in surprise as Jungkook hovers over him.
"Don't be mean, Jungkook-ah." The brunette laughs. "And don't take my kindness for weakness."
"You're a dork." The younger says as he leans in.
"You're a dork." Taehyung says just as their lips meet, smiling into the kiss as he deepens it.
Jungkook's phone rings again, vibrating annoyingly against the mattress.
"Ignore it." Taehyung says again.
"I can't, baby. Hang on." Jungkook says pulling away and grabbing his phone. "Oh, it's Jaehyun."
"Didn't you tell him you were on vacation?" The brunette asks, sitting up on his elbows.
"Yeah. It must be an emergency." The younger says standing from the bed. "I'll be two seconds. I promise. Don't go anywhere."
Taehyung rolls his eyes as he falls back on the bed with a pout. "I'm not going anywhere."
Jungkook chuckles as he answers the phone, stepping out of the room to talk to one of his clients.
Taehyung sighs softly as he turns on his side, admiring the ring on his finger as he thinks about his future husband.
He never thought he'd be getting married, it was something that he always assumed was off the table after his diagnosis but after Jungkook came into his life that changed.
It wasn't easy dating as part of a system but Jungkook sure as hell made it look easy, he made Taehyung so happy and he was so close with everyone that, even when things got tough, he wouldn't trade them for the world.
Taehyung didn't know what the future held, but as long as Jungkook was apart of it he was excited.
He was ready to spend the rest of his life with him.
