I saw Dorcas sprawling on the floor in pain and ran to help her up.

"Give me that tonic on the TVs. "She pointed to a bottle of tonic.

I did as she directed and she took a mouthful of it.for some times she was still feeling pain and then few minutes later, it stopped.

"What's that? Is it menstrual PAIN "I asked in confusion.

"No "she shook her head trying to caught her breath. "It's ulcer. "

"Ooooh "I nodded and that was that for that day.

"What's Osa  in English? "I asked her one day. I had have this thought all along but I decided to bring it up that one day.

She frowned at me. "It's ulcer "

"Osa ? Isn't Osa  a Yoruba name? "The Yorubas call it osa too so truthfully, I was confused she was saying the Yoruba own.

"Osa is ulcer in English. "

"Osa is Osa in English? Ogbeni, you go school so?? which one is Osa is Osa in English? "

"Mumu. You nor know anything at all. Are you sure you go to the university? Instead of you to say you don't know, you are just here saying nonsense!! "

"Mumu. Go and check your dictionary. You are just stupid not to know. "And hissing, Dorcas turn to go but I was not finished with her.

"There is nothing like Osa in the tionary. Mumu. Spell it na "

She shook her head in pity for my life.

"You are such a dumber! "And hissing once again, she left sadly.

"Osa is osa. Mumu. Nothing wey she know. Na only to dey make mouth na im she sabi. Mumu! "I said while trying to look for it in my phone dictionary but I couldn't find it because I kept typing the Yoruba spelling.

Am crazy right?

  If I told you it was of recent, I know the real spelling of Ulcer you wouldn't believe me right? 

I must have been a total fool in front of Dorcas. Oooh poor me.

  I have tried looking for her to correct my mistake ever since but I haven't been hearing from her after I left Lagos to stay in Benin for the mean time.
