Today the Valkyries and I were at the movies ready to see "Top Gun Maverick". Joining us were Enterprise and Intrepid.

Patrick: The original "Top Gun" was my mother's favorite movie of all time. My mother really loves Tom Cruise.

Kiana: Your mother... a lover of "Top Gun".

Intrepid: My museum has an F-14 from the movie. And so does USS Midway.

Enterprise: Tom Cruise made an entrance on the premiere of the movie by showing up from a helicopter.

Patrick: My mother really loves Tom Cruise's work.

Himeko: Tom Cruise is a great actor and has maintained his appearance over the years.

Intrepid: It's 30 years after the original "Top Gun" and Iceman asks Maverick to teach some pilots. One of them is Goose's son.

Enterprise: The trailers showed some of the pilots getting killed off with some F-18 Super Hornets getting blown up and a funeral scene. Some of the characters are going to get killed off.

Intrepid: I hope Maverick does not get killed off.

Patrick: Fun Fact is that the actors were taught how to fly real fighter jets to make the movie more amazing and more great.

Seele: The trailers showed the actors piloting the fighter jets.

Mei: They really wanted the actors to be piloting real jets.

Bronya: Yes.

Finally the trailers stopped and the movie was starting.

Everyone: It's starting.

(After the movie)

We walked out the theater satisfied.

Patrick: It was great!

Intrepid: And It was even better than the first one!

Himeko: Very emotional!

Enterprise: It was a great movie. Despite the delays. It was worth the wait.

Patrick: So that funeral from the trailers was for Iceman not one of the pilots.

Mei: So they decided to kill him off.

Seele: At least Rooster was able to forgive Maverick for what he did.

Patrick: And it was great seeing an F-14 Tomcat flying again. Though that scene where Maverick visits his old jet was not in the movie. And I was hoping that he would be married but he was not. The internet said he wasn't with Charlie anymore. And we got to see Penny Benjamin who Maverick dated before Charlie. After doing a high speed pass over her.

Himeko: You think they will marry?

Patrick: Less likely. But maybe they will. In some alternate universe Maverick would be married and with children.

Intrepid: The beginning and end were the same. First beginning the movie on an aircraft carry while playing "Danger Zone". And then ending the movie by flying into the sunset. Only flying in a North American P-51 Mustang.

Enterprise: The beginning was exactly the same. Saying the same thing about Fighter Weapons School/Top Gun and the ending was exactly the same with dropping the character names with the actor names and shots of the characters.

Theresa: We heard the exact same lines from the original movies like "Talk to me Goose." "You think. You're dead." "

Patrick: My only complaint was hearing the F word. I really hate that word.

Fu Hua: Let's not talk about it.

Patrick: That plane they were testing might have been the new SR-72. The descendent of the SR-71 Blackbird. The same shape and the same design.

Intrepid: Only it was a fictional version of the SR-72. Called the SR-72 Darkstar.

Enterprise: Let's just go home.

As we were going home, several jets flew above us. An F-14, an F-15, an F-4, an SR-71, an F-22, an F-18, an F-35, and an F-117.
