The Valkyries and I were in the living room at night with the CPUs and CPU Candidates. We were gonna watch the first Sonic movie as a recap before watching the second movie tomorrow.

Patrick: Before watching the second movie, we first have to recap with what happened in the first movie.

Neptune: It's always important to do so.

Patrick: I remember two years ago when I watched it in theaters that was the first time I went into a theater really early before trailers started and where I was introduced to the game, "Noovie". I saw the movie the day after Valentine's day. It was released on Valentine's day. It was one month before the Coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak pandemic happened. I remember that pretty well. Thankfully it did well in the box office like "Detective Pikachu" did.

Neptune: Yeah... every time a video game movie was released they always received bad criticism.

Kiana: Sonic's first movie design was hideous which caused people to instantly hate it. But then the people who made the movie decided to listen to the fans and changed Sonic's design however, doing that caused the release date to be pushed back.

Mei: And with the new design, it caused people to not hate the movie.

Bronya: Yes. Thanks to the change, the film did well.

Seele: That wasn't the first time a studio listened to the fans. There were other times that studios listened to fans.

Patrick: It relates to James Marsden's previous film, "Hop" Where he drives with a sentient animal before driving with another sentient animal in Sonic's movie. Sonic also relates to Ben Schwartz' other characters Dewy from "Duck Tales" and Leonardo from "Rise of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".

Kiana: How exactly?

Neptune: Because they're blue.

Himeko: And let's not forget Jim Carrey. He's really funny.

Patrick: I liked how he danced to his favorite song "Evil Grows" while playing Dr. Robotnik/Dr. Eggman. I also laughed from his two lines, "Nobody cares!", "AAAGGGHHH!!! Give me a BIG FAT BREAK!!!", And "What do I look like an imbecile? Of course I want a latte. I LOVE THE WAY YOU MAKE THEM!" HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

Neptune: HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

Himeko: HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

Noire: Very funny.

Fu Hua: Jim Carrey is a great comedian like in his other movies, "The Mask", "How The Grinch Stole Christmas", Dumb & Dumber", "Dumber & Dumber To", "The Truman Show", "Bruce Almighty", "Ace Ventura", "Mr. Popper's Penguins", "A Christmas Carol", "Horton Hears a Who!", "Batman Forever", and "Kick-Ass 2".

Patrick: It was a nice choice to have Jim Carrey play as Dr. Robotnik/Dr. Eggman. Since "Sonic Adventure" He's only been voiced by Mike Pollack since nobody can replace him.

Neptune: Me, Nep. Jr, and Plutia are based on Sega's consoles. Isn't that right?

Plutia: Yes.

Nepgear: Yes only you were based on one of Sega's cancelled consoles.

Neptune: Oh don't remind me!

Noire: That is so true. A cancelled console.

Neptune: Shut up loner!

Noire: I am not a loner! Don't call me that lazy goddess!

Theresa chains them with Oath of Judah.

Theresa: No fighting.

Plutia Yeah no fighting or else I'll punch you both.

Neptune and Noire: Yes ma'am.

Theresa frees them.

Patrick: Anyways...

Blanc: Sonic's voice has changed a few times. Right now Roger Craig Smith voices him.

Vert: Most people like Jason Griffith better because he fitted Sonic better. He also voiced Shadow too before Kirk Thornton did.

Patrick: I also remember when before watching the movie I watched the music video "Speed Me Up" by Wiz Khalifa since he did do the music video for "Fast and Furious 7" with Charlie Puth and since both movies are made by the same people who did the "Fast and Furious film series.

Neptune: Yeah... always going fast with their movies.

Theresa: If we're done here. Let's get started.

Patrick: Ok.

I hit the play button, then the movie started.

(After the movie)

Patrick: This brings me back memories from 2 years ago. Before the pandemic.

Kiana: Yeah... 2 years ago.

Himeko: Let's start talking about it. Sonic's caretaker Long claw was like Obi-Wan Kenobi taking care of Luke Skywalker then she dies defending Sonic from the Echidnas after making Sonic use the rings to go to Earth to protect himself so they never get their hands on Sonic's powers.

Neptune: Caught a glimpse of Sanic on Crazy Carl's drawing of Sanic.

Patrick: Maddie acted like a cartoon character pulling out the wrong thing then pulling out the right thing.

Kiana: Sonic called Tom, Donut Lord because of how he talks to donuts. And he called Robotnik, Eggman because of his robots shaped like eggs.

Patrick: The way Sonic used the rings reminded me how Hoops uses it's rings as portals.

Fu Hua: Robotnik's truck was originally Galvatron from "Transformers: Age Of Extinction". Paramount has kept it.

Seele: The way he was able to move super fast in his perception where it looked like time stopped in the road house scene and the scene where he plays with Eggman's missiles was really interesting. Like something a cartoon character would do.

Nepgear: He's fast just like Road Runner, Speedy Gonzales, The Flash, Quick Silver, and Rainbow Dash.

Patrick: He started a bar fight that happens in some movies.

Neptune: And Sonic ate chili dogs.

Himeko: I've witnessed some bar fights during times when Ive gone to bars before.

Uni: The highway chase scene was really cool. And Cartoony where you defeat something they keep coming back smaller.

Noire: And cartoony with having trouble getting a bomb off of you.

Patrick: The way Sonic said "Nailed it" was like how Dewy said it.

Himeko: Robotnik then danced to "Evil grows" from his Tunes of Anarchy playlist and while experimenting on the quiz caused an overload outage then he got the power back on.

Neptune: He called his lab his evil lab. He does refer to himself as an evil villain. He pretended to ski and then get chased by a T-Rex and pretended to have no head.

Bronya: Using the song was Jim Carrey's idea from what we've heard from WatchMojo.com.

Blanc: Then he uses the quiz to power his ship.

Vert: Tom and Maddie used smelling salts to wake him up then Sonic said the line, "Gotta go fast". Which was the name of the theme from "Sonic X".

Rom: Then the little girl, Jojo gives Sonic his iconic shoes.

Ram: The trailers showed Sonic with his iconic shoes not with worn out shoes. Thankfully Sonic got his iconic shoes.

Patrick: There was that delete scene where Tom and Sonic talked about how emotions have effects on power which is true. Emotions have effects on power. Rage makes people strong and sadness makes people weak. And friendship and love make people stronger.

Peashy: Very true.

Uzume: Emotions can really have an effect on power.

Theresa: the part where Sonic was in the sack was funny.

Neptune: Pushing Tom and Maddie off was really unexpected. Then Sonic slows time down with his speed then plays with the missiles and then Robotnik manages to push the button with a funny face allowing him to use Sonic's power against him.

Seele: Sonic then saved Tom and Maddie with his ring portals before landing on the ground with his rings the same way how he drops his rings everyone he is hit by an enemy and a hazard.

Bronya: And then the chase was on where Sonic and Robotnik go to random spots around the planet during the chase. Like Paris, The Great Wall Of China, and Egypt.

Patrick: And the beginning of the movie showed the chase scene told from Sonic's point of view then the whole movie reversing back so fast to the beginning. Movies have had that before.

Blanc: Then Sonic gets blown up by Eggman when they end up back in Green Hills. Tom tries to stop Robotnik then the people of Green Hills stand up to him.

Neptune: And after hearing Tom's words, he woke up and then lightning was coming off of him then he took his piece of power back from Eggman, finishes the final battle then he and the Donut Lord banish him to the mushroom planet where Sonic deals the final blow. Sonic saved the day.

Rom: Then it cuts to where Jojo was singing "Gotta Go Fast" while running around her mother.

Ram: And then Tom chooses to stay in Green Hills while everyone decides to keep Sonic a secret from everyone else.

Nepgear: Then Green Hill Zone's theme plays in piano during a day in green hills.

Uni: And then a general gives Tom an Olive Green's gift card which was unexpected. Usually they give lots of money, a letter from someone famous, and other things even better.

Nepgear: And then the movie shows Sonic living with Tom and Maddie. All his stuff was in the basement all the way from his cave.

Kiana: And then there's the scene where Eggman was on the mushroom planet shaving his head off for no reason.

Mei: He was starting to look more like himself from the video game.

Bronya: He was also carrying a rock with a face around calling it agent Stone like his partner.

Patrick: He was beginning to sound like Mike Pollack. Then it shows him putting his goggles on like shown in the first trailer. And then the credits roll.

Neptune: In 8-bit style. Like in Wiz Khalifa's music video where it was reused in.

Patrick: Then it shows the post credit scene where Tails appears still with his voice actress, Colleen O'Shaughnessey teasing the sequel. Then he flies with his two tails. He was searching for Sonic and needs him for something which we're going to find out tomorrow.

Neptune: Most people wanted Tails to be voiced by Tom Holland in the sequel but does not happen and Tails still has his video game voice actress.

Patrick: Tomorrow we finally go to see the sequel.

Theresa: Alright girls and boy. As much as I'd like to continue talking about Sonic The Hedgehog, we have to get ready for bed now. You need your rest for classes tomorrow.

Himeko: Yes. You better recharge your batteries.

Kiana: Ok.

Patrick: Yes.

Theresa: First thing after classes, we drive straight to the mall at the theater. We already printed out tickets so be ready.

Valkyries and Patrick: We will.

Neptune: I guess we should get going now too.

A random portal opens then the CPUs and CPU Candidates step through before it closes. Then me and the Valkyires get ready for bed.
