We were learning about Ancient Greece.

"What's with the baseball shit? You know you're a hockey player right?" Adam said. I rolled my eyes.

"I play baseball too." I said.

"What else do you play?" He asked.

"I do dance and gymnastics." I said.

"Alana." Ms. MacKay said.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Why did the ancient Greeks fight?" She asked.

"For pride." I said.

"Exactly." She said. She said then went on with the lesson. After that we had training. We skated in the road.

"I don't know what I been told!"

"Sound off!"

"One, two."

"Sound off!"

"Three four!"

Then we passed Bombay.

Finally! We're headed to Los Angeles.

Charlie had his seat next to me. Goldberg fell asleep on his shoulder. I laughed.

"You havin' fun over there Char?" I asked.

"It's a blast." He said. I ended up talking to him the whole time. Then we got off the plane. We had a day before the competition.

We practiced from 8 am to 4 pm. Then we had the day off. We had to get to our dorms. I shared one with Connie and Julie.

"I'm bored." I said.

"You're always bored McClennan." Connie said.

"Let's go explore." I said.

"Fine." She said. I took off my hockey gear and changed back into my jersey and shorts. I put on a Yankees hat and we walked out the door.

We walked around going into stores and buying clothes. Eventually we had to get back by six. So we headed back. We had to be in bed by nine, so I took a shower and then called my home.

"Hello?" Some man? Said.

"Who is this?" I asked.

"This is the McClennan home." He said.

"Can I talk to my mom or brother please?" I asked rolling my eyes.

"Oh, you're the hockey girl." He said.

"Yeah, the hockey girl. Pass the phone to my mom dummy." I said.

"Thats not way to talk to someone." He said.

"I just wanna talk to my mom!" I said.

"Fine." He said then passed the phone to my mom.

"Hi mom." I said.

"Hey!" She said.

"My first game is against Italy. In Los Angeles." I said.

"Wow! That's cool." She said

"Thanks. Anyway I better get going. Bye love you." I said.

"Love you too." She said then hung up.

I tried to go to bed but I couldn't. I heard laughing in the other dorm. I walked over there and opened the door.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Shh!" They said. I went up to them. Pranking Dwayne.

"Feather and shaving cream. Classic." I said.

"Feather." Goldberg said. Luis handed him the feather out of the cowboy had and put the hat on. He's kinda cute in a cowboy hat.

He ticked Dwayne with the feather. Nothing. He did it again. He wiped his face. We did this until his whole face was covered in shaving cream. Then he woke up and screamed. We jumped up. I ran out of the room before I got in trouble.

I eventually fell asleep.

The Next Day

We went into the locker room and changed into our jerseys.

We walked out as they introduced us. I was on the bench. We started.

We got the puck and Charlie passed it to Dwayne. Score! I cheered.

I saw some kid talking shit to Jesse.

I looked in the audience. The Sandlot guys!

"Change it up!" Coach yelled. I went out. The score was 3-0. Banks passed the puck to me. I did my famous move and it went straight into the net. My team cheered.

By the end of the game we had won! 11-0! I changed out of my gear. When I got out of the locker room I saw the guys!

"I can't believe you guys came!" I said hugging them.

"We couldn't miss your first game!" Angie said.

"You we're amazing out there!" Olana said.

"That was great! Eleven to nothing!" Ham said. Benny just kept quiet. I didn't really want to talk to him. The rest of the team came out. As I saw him the feeling I felt, wasn't love. He's messed with me too much. I'm finally completely over him. Wow.

"Who that?" Connie asked looking at Benny.

"That's Benny." I said blankly not even looking him in the eye.

"Hot." She said.

"Connie!" Guy said.

"Oh calm down." She said.

"Um, Alana we really have to get going. Coach went to do down sponser thing, so we gotta go." Charlie said putting his arm around me. A little weird but I kinda like it.

Especially since it's making Benny glare at him.

"Sorry guys. I'll see ya." I said. I hugged my brother.

"Bye sis." He said.

"Bye Yeah Yeah." I said.

We walked out of the stadium with Charlie.

"You can take your arm off now." I told him.

"Oh. Right. I forgot about that." He said then moved his arm. We went to the beach to celebrate. I drew in the sand.

"Alana! Come in the water!" Adam said.

"Alright! I'm coming Banksy." I said then jumped into the water. I splashed him.

He grabbed me and threw me further into the water.

"Hey!" I said. Normally we would have been practicing, but coach has been busy.

After a few hours we went back to our dorms. I fell asleep after changing into pajamas.
