The next day...

Brooks: *wakes up* ...

I'm so tired...  I really want to sleep more... Well. It's a rest day for us. I don't think me and the guys have any agendas today, but... I really wanna be early. 

Well, screw it. I'll sleep more. Please, Nikki, don't destroy the door... I'm so tired...

35 minutes later...

Nikki's P. O. V

Nikki: *drinking coffee* Where is Brooks? He's so late. Cross!

Cross: What?!

Nikki: Get Brooks right now... He's late waking up...

Cross: Huh, that's weird. Okay. On it. *walking to Brooks bedroom door*

Cross's P. O. V

That's weird. Brooks always wakes up more early than everyone. Even beating me sometimes. 

Cross: *walks up to his door* ...

Okay. Hope he's not dead. 

Cross: *knocks on the door* Brooks?! Get up or I'll get the knife! 

No response. Probably really tired. 

Cross: *knocks again* Don't let me break down the door.

Brooks's P. O. V

Brooks: Huh? Who's that? *drowsy* 

Then a muffled voice spoke through the door.

Cross: Hey! You awake now? It's freaking 8:30 AM. Good lord, you're slow.

Brooks: Okay. I'm just really tired yesterday. Gimme a minute. *goes into his bathroom*

5 minutes later...

Brooks: *goes out from his bathroom* ... 

Okay. I felt extra like what, 30+ minutes would be enough for me but nope. I still feel sleepy. But I can't be lazy. 

Brooks: *goes out of his room* ...

Then I was greeted by a mad Nikki? Okay. I get it. 

Brooks: I know what you're gonna say. I'm still sleepy by the time I woke up. Sorry.

Nikki: *sighs* That's okay. Plus, it's our rest day. We can just stay in the house for the whole day. 

A-kun: Sorry. that would be a boring chapter, Nikki. We can't have that.

Brooks: Thank god, you're forgiving today. 

Cross: Well. I know it's our rest day. I have a place to go if you guys want to relax... *looks at his phone*

Then me, and I guess everyone else got confused...

Brooks: *curious* What is the place may I ask?

Cross: Moray Towers. I can use my car again. 

A-kun: Remember the CAR?! Yep! You don't! It's from the start of the book. It got left out. The poor car has some dust now.

Then my Inkling friends got surprised...

Nikki: *surprised* Wait, you actually got a car?! You never told us or even me till now.

Brooks: *laughs* You never mentioned it since we got here Cross. *still laughing*

Glen's P. O. V

Hmm... Moray Towers... That's a really good place to be relaxing to be fair. I wanna go. I wish the winds are powerful there so we can just feel the wind. Wow, I'm already imagining the feeling of being there.

Glen: Cross.. *says shyly*

Then Cross looks at me...

Cross: Yea, Glen?

Glen: I... I wanna go there.

Brooks: *surprised* Well, shoot. If Glen agrees, I'll go. 

Nikki: The question is, can we even fit into the car?

Cross: Yep. It's just a 5 seater car. It just fits all of us.

Nikki: Then I'm in! *says cheerily*

That's a relief. 

Brooks's P. O. V

Okay. So Cross has a freaking car, he used it to pick me up but didn't use it when we went to the agency, and the freaking Coral City to pick up Glen and Andrew. And oh yeah, the Splatfest yesterday. And he just thought about this now? 

Seriously? Life would really be easier... 

If HE DIDN'T FORGOT ABOUT HIS OWN CAR!!!!! 

Brooks: Okay. I'll just get into my room and get dressed up... *walks to his room*

At Brooks's room...

Brooks: *opens his clothes drawer* ... *thinking*

Hmmm... What I wanna wear... Hmmm... I'll just wear the most comfortable. I'm not styling or anything today. Plus I GOTTA take with me a jacket. The winds on those towers can be cold. Especially when it's near Squidmas... 

Brooks: *grabs his choice of clothes* ...

I grabbed a grey brand name shirt and wore black jogging pants. Again, I'm not styling so I can wear whatever I want. And I wore my orange sneakers. And of course, I grabbed the thing that I ALWAYS need to wear. My mask. Today, I picked a blue one.

Brooks: *startled* ...

Oh yeah. Lemme get to my wardrobe. 

Brooks: *opens his wardrobe* ...

I for one finally touched with my jackets. I almost never wear them because of the always warm weather of Inkpolis Plaza. But I guess the winds at the towers are gonna be too cold. I grabbed my dark blue jacket.

A-kun: Sorry For The Interruption. Here's The Jacket...

A-kun: HEY! That's not what I wanted. GET IT OUT! I DON'T NEED MEMES RIGHT NOW.

A-kun:Here. That's More Better. Jesus That Took A Shouting To Get The Right Picture...

Not too long later...

Brooks: Okay... *finishes wearing the clothes he chose*  I'll bring a smol bag. 

A-kun: Get it? It's an inside reference.

Then someone spoke behind my door...

Nikki: Are you good now Brooks? I'm ready to go! *muffled*

Brooks: Wait, I'll bring some things with me... *grabbing stuff*

Okay. I'll bring my wallet, my headphones, and my phone. Why the hell would you use your headphones if you're not using a phone WTH you thinking dud.

Brooks: We all good now. *walks out of his bedroom*

Outside of his bedroom...

Outside, Nikki was waiting for me. And her only. So I guess I'm pretty fast to prepare. It's not like I wanted to be first. I guess they all have their own routine of preparing things.

Brooks: Seems you're excited today Nikki... It's unusual for you to be first. 

Nikki: Why I should not? It's finally a rest day and staying in our apartment is... Not bad, but boring as hell. *shrugs* 

Brooks: You sure dislike boredom. 

Nikki: Plus I can't wait to just chill at the towers...

Brooks: Yep. Did you bring a jacket with you?

Nikki: Yes, I do. 

Brooks: Okay then I guess we two are all set. *sits down next to Nikki*

Nikki: Brooks.

Brooks: Yeah?

Nikki: I have something to say. It's important.

Brooks: Lemme hear it then *curious*

Then Cross came out of nowhere and interrupts us two.

Cross: Uh... Excuse me?

Brooks: *startled* ...

Nikki: *also startled with a slight bit of blushing* ...

Cross: Okay. I won't spe-

Nikki: It's NOTHING! *angry*

Brooks: *sighs* ...

Technical Difficulties... Brought you by a smol, Nikki, shouting at smol Cross...

Cross: *scared* You're finally done?

Brooks: Jeez. That took a while. *facepalms*

Nikki: *finally calms down* ... *sits down on the couch, away from Brooks*

Then Glen and Andrew finally got finished...

Glen: What happened here? *confused*

Andrew:*also confused* Nikki? Why are you angry? 

Cross: Don't mind her. Let her calm down a bit more. *looking at Nikki*

Glen: *walks up to Nikki* Nikki?

As for me, I was just there doing nothing. Sitting there minding my own business then for SOME REASON, Andrew stares at me... Passive-aggressively? Oooo gawd. I rubbed him the wrong way did I? What the hell did I do?

Brooks:*looks away from Andrew* *nervous* ...

Cross: Okay, okay. It's literally almost 12:00 AM. We have to go now. Moray Towers is really far from here. I can't afford more time lost.

Brooks: Okay. *stands up* 

Glen: Nikki, please calm down. The others are leaving now. Please get up.. *worried AF*

Fast-forward to the Plaza center...

Brooks: Bro, why did you forgot to use your car?

Cross: I know I didn't use it. But there's no parking lot near or anywhere near the Plaza. So I had to call F. A. O to assist me to take care of the car. *calls up someone*

Brooks: What are you doing?

Cross: I'm calling the agent that holds my car. May I excuse me... *talking on the phone*

Brooks: *silent* ... *looks behind him*

Huh. The three are holding up the wait. Seems Nikki finally. Finally calmed down. Like, for real this time. And Andrew. Is being Andrew. Still being a chill person like he always is. 

Cross: Okay. He said it's coming right now. Tell the others it's coming.

Brooks: You got it. *walk to the others*

I walked to the 3 and told them the car is coming...

Glen: Okay then.

Andrew:*nods* ...

Nikki: Okay. 

Cross's P. O. V

Oh, I see it now! 

Cross: *waves his hand* ...

The car came towards me and the Inkling agent got out of the car and I gave him a bit of cash.

F. A. O. Agent: Thanks! I also put gas in it too. So you don't have to. *gives the keys to Cross*

Cross: Oh thanks, man! 

F. A. O. Agent: No worries. I'll go back now...

Cross: Okay. Thanks for helping me! 

F. A. O. Agent: Yeah. *runs away* 

Okay. The car is still like the car that I used to pick Brooks up... It's doesn't have any rust or anything that would make this car ugly. The agent really did a great job taking care of it. I really owe the guy...

Cross: Guys! *shouts at the others* The car is here now. 

Brooks's P. O. V

Huh, the car is still in pretty good condition. The color is so like... Made for the night-life or something. That dark blue color. Whatever. 

Brooks: Alright. *walks to the car*

Glen's P. O. V

The car is so cool looking. 

Glen: Yay! *walks to the car*

Nikki's P. O. V

The car looks pretty cool. Pretty weird. I wonder how Cross is gonna drive... He's human after all.

Nikki: *silent while walking to the car* ...

In Cross's car...

Nikki: How far from here is Moray Towers?

Cross: Pretty... Far... Don't worry. You can just take a nap while I'm driving. Plus don't worry about my driving. I picked up Brooks when we started to move to Inkopolis Plaza. 

Brooks: You sound confident again. Hope it doesn't bite you in the ass.

Cross: Nah dude, *uses the GPS* lemme just put the location of Moray Towers...

Brooks's P. O. V

I was sitting next to Cross, as he did his thing, I grabbed my headphones and just listened to my music. 

A-kun: What songs do you listen to?

Brooks: *wears his headphones* ... 

Cross: Okay... It's 5 hours far from here. Okay. Better get your sleep. Fair warning, I'll wake you up guys if we are in a pit stop. 

Nikki: *yawns* Yeah..... I'm gonna sleep now...

Cross: Okay. Let's go. *starts driving*

4 hours later of all driving and boredom...

Cross's P. O. V

Hmmm... Where do we stop for gas? I don't see much around this road... But I guess I'm near Moray Towers so let's just go there. 

50 minutes later...

Cross:10 minutes left.... *murmurs* (I'm so tired....)

At the Moray Towers...

I finally arrived... The good thing before I arrived I also saw a gas station nearby. So as soon we go home I'll gas my car...

Cross: *looks behind the car* ... *sees Nikki and others*

They didn't even wake up.. Even Andrew is asleep. Well time to wake them up...

Cross: *tugs Brooks* Bro, time to wake up... We are here. 

Then the sleepyhead finally woke up...

Brooks:*wakes up* Huh?... Cross? We here? *drowsy*

Cross: Yes.

Brooks: Okay... *rubs his face*

Cross: I'll wake up the others.... *tugs Nikki* Nikki? 

Then Nikki woke up... Pretty quickly. Weird. 

Nikki: Cross? Why? *drowsy also*

Cross: We are here... 

Brooks: I'll leave the car now...

Cross: Yeah... Go now Brooks... *unlocks the doors*

Brooks:*opens the door* ...

Cross: And Nikki, also wake up the others.

Nikki: Okay... *tugs the others*

Cross: *sighs* ... (Finally...)

I left the car and I talked to Brooks who is looking at the towers...

Cross: You cool there Brooks?

Brooks: Yeah... Though it's still cold even though I have a jacket on... Brrr... 

Cross: Me too. It's doesn't really feel right with the cold weather. I still get shivers...

Then a voice called me and Brooks...

Cross: *looks behind him* ...

Nikki: Hey you two! Why did you leave early?

Glen: Don't get angry Nikki. It's probably cold inside the car...

Brooks's P. O. V

Thank god we have Glen as the peacemaker of all of us... Well. How the hell do we get up there?

Brooks: How do we get up there Cross?

Cross: Uh, they are gonna use the spawn circle to get us up there.

Brooks: Here's Mr. Brainnugget. 

Cross:*rolls his eyes* Whatever. Let's just get up there. Follow me. *walks inside the building*

Brooks:*totally silent* ...

Inside the building...

Cross:*uses his earpiece* Brooks. 

Brooks:*hears the voice* Hm? What is it Cross?

Cross: I called up the F. A. O so we can get up there without talking to the people there. So we can just go to spawn circle to get us up there.

Brooks: *confused* You prepared for this? Just yesterday we were tired as hell. Well, okay. I won't complain.

Cross: *walks up the spawn circle* ...

Then guards that seem to look like F. A. O Agents talked to Cross and don't ask me what did they say. I'm not Cross. But I saw his Agent I.D shown to the Agents and granted us access.

Cross: Okay. We are good now. We can go up there now.

Brooks: Okay. 

Us 5 stood over the spawn circle and we got teleported to the spawn circle of Moray Towers itself. 

Cross: And... We are here! Enjoy guys... *walks off the platform*

Nikki: Yay! *runs off the platform*

Brooks: *silent as he walks off the platform* ... *looks at his watch* (It's 7:02 PM...)

Glen & Andrew: *calmly walks off the platform* ...

As Cross and Nikki, we walking around the towers, I was just chilling at top of the towers... I did not run off. I just sat there thinking about what I should do next... Should I see Cap't again? Or focus on other things...  

I sat there silently. Then I heard someone's voice...

Glen: Hey... 

Oh, it's Glen. She's looking... A bit timid right now. Something the matter?

Brooks: *looks at Glen* What's up? You wanna talk?

Glen: Um... Yeah... *sits down with Brooks*

Brooks: What do you wanna talk about? Wait, you seem nervous... Do you wanna switch places to sit? I mean this sitting place is really high up.

Glen: Okay... 

The sitting place I was sitting at, is just when you go off your spawn circle. I sat there because so I wouldn't having any problems going back to the circle when we go back. So I gotta adjust I can talk with Glen.

Brooks: Okay... Where do you wanna move to?

Glen: Over there... *points to the box down*

A-kun: I really had to edit it. I did it to not get you confused...

Brooks: Okay then... *walks to the spot*

Brooks: Okay. *jumps at the box* ... *then sits on it* 

Glen: I have a question. *sits down on the box* But first, remove your mask.

Brooks: *removes his mask* Okay. Fire away. 

I am feeling something bad about this... Probably my mind going places but I have to be cautious about this...

Glen: Can you tell me your relationship with Nikki?

Brooks: *surprised* ... 

Yep. My instincts helped me again. Why the hell she chose THAT question out of everything else?!

Brooks: Uh... Why ask that? *stuttering*

Glen: She told me some stories that you are a very cool person. Even for a human. So tell me, are you just friends?

Brooks: Yeah... *finally calms down* I mean I appreciate the praise from her but you really think that would go THAT far? *back to chill mode* Nah man. She elbows me all the time. Plus, I'm a human. 

Glen: Okay. I mean, you're pretty nice too. And also dependable. 

Brooks: What do you mean dependable? *confused*

Glen: You always do the other things that the others don't wanna do. Or, atleast what Nikki told me.

Brooks: *chuckles* Really? I still feel like I don't do enough for you guys... 

Glen: Oh, don't say that! You and Cross are really helpful for us three. Plus I never thanked you and Cross that you helped Nikki to pay the hospital bill.

Brooks: Oh, no worries. I got experience fighting in Turf War. So, we could say it was a win-win situation. 

Glen: I guess... But how about your commander? Cuttlefish? Right?

Brooks: Yeah. I was thinking about that earlier...

Glen: Are you coming back to him?

Brooks: Quite possibly. I don't really know what to do at this point... *looks down at the ground*

The wind blows past us as we had a moment of silence...

Glen: What time is now Brooks? 

Brooks: It's uh... *looks at his phone* 7:55 PM...

Glen: The talk didn't last long enough right?

Brooks: I guess so.

Glen: And also, Nikki told me you and Cross are... Agents?

Brooks: Oh? Yeah. We are. *looks at Glen*

Glen: And the name is F. A. O?

Brooks: Yeah. Wow, Nikki really told you stories. That probably kept you awake at night.

Glen: Yeah. I mean, she's my best friend. She wouldn't really hide something from me.

Brooks: *smiles* ...

Glen: And also, Nikki. Most of her stories are about you. Like, one time you cooked something yourself and she tried it and it was really good. Is it true?

Brooks: Yeah. It was before going to Coral City to pick you up. Like, the "day before".

Glen: Huh. She must truly grown attached to you. *giggles*

Brooks: Yeah, yeah whatever. We can talk about different topics now.

Meanwhile at the other side of the towers where Brooks and Glen are sitting at...

Nikki's P. O. V

Nikki: C'mon Andrew! Don't be always a silent person. We'll take a picture together.

Andrew: *sighs* Yeah. Cool whatever. 

Nikki: Here then! Stand here next to me. 

Andrew: *internally disappointed* ... *stands next to Nikki*

Nikki: Cheese! *take a selfie with Andrew*

Andrew: *sighs* You know, that's the 47th picture you've taken here. 

Nikki: I don't care! I have lots of storage here!

Andrew: Well, blast away. But really, don't run off like a little kid.

Nikki: Alright! *hops happily towards the top of the other tower* 

Andrew: Geez... What time is it? 8:06 PM. Can I go home?...

Meanwhile in the middle.....

Cross's P. O. V

I was in the middle of the map and I analyzed the place because some reports told some things are happening right here at Moray Towers but I don't seem to find anything real suspicious. But I'll watch out more...

Cross: *looks at his watch* ... (It's 8:06 PM. I think we have to go home now. It's a 5-hour ride home for squid's sake.)

So I used my earpiece again to connect to Brooks's headphones so I can tell him we're going home.

Cross:*uses earpiece* Brooks. We're going home now. Tell Glen. I'll get Nikki and Andrew.

Brooks's P. O. V

As I and Glen were still talking, my headphones stopped playing music, and the voice of Cross telling me we are going home... And I should tell Glen right now. Okay.

Brooks: Uh... Glen.

Glen: Huh? 

Brooks: We're going home.

Glen: *disappointed* Really?

Brooks: I was told by Cross. So I mean he has some kind of reason. Let's get going now shall we Glen? *wears back his mask*

Glen: Okay... *starts walking to the spawn circle*

Outside of the building... 

Cross: Alright guys who are ready for another trip back home?

Brooks: *looks at the 3* ...

Glen, Nikki, and Andrew didn't even respond. Haha, get ignored lol.

Brooks: Uh, Cross. They are not giving a dang. *laughs*

Cross: Don't worry, I'm also tired. Like them.

Brooks: Alright.

Inside the car...

Brooks: *wears his seatbelt* *sighs* ... *wears his headphones again* *starts sleeping*

Cross's P. O. V

Alright, time to get the GPS working again. And also time to gas this thing. Cross, don't get tired while driving. That's the worse thing you can do in this situation.

Cross: *starts driving* ...

5 hours of driving and suffering for Cross later.....

Cross: *sighs* Thank you, lord. We finally here. Oh yeah. *calls the agent who took care of his car*

Time to wake up everyone else. It's 1:30 AM... It's so late... 

 Cut to Cross waking everyone up.

Brooks's P. O. V

Brooks: *sees Cross's car gets driven by the agent* ...

Cross: Okay. Let's go home now... 

Brooks: Okay... *starts walking home*

Woah... I'm so tired as hell... I got to know Glen and Nikki's thoughts about me. And I thought this was supposed to be a rest day, We went home at 1 AM. Jeez. But I guess it's not too bad. 

2020 A-kun: Hey, hey, hey. It's me. You enjoying it so far? The not scuffed grammar of my first ever book? Pretty pog yeah? Okay, you can go now.
