So, I didn't write enough today, so y'all get a Dex POV instead of a chapter. Sorry. But this is when they're in the healing center after getting kidnapped, and they're cuddling (bc I thought it would be cute). Lori's just asleep through all of it.

When I wake up, I’m not alone in my cot. Lori is sleeping next to me. She’s so sweet. I’m glad I told her I like her. And that she actually likes me too. Now that we’re safe, we can really be together. It might be a little weird, because she was with me in her old universe too, but that just means she’ll already be really comfortable with me. 

“Dex, you’re awake!” Elwin exclaims. “I hope you’re ok with Lori being there. She got lonely in her cot.” 

“It’s fine. Is she doing ok?” 

“Yeah, she’s actually better than I expected. Are you ok with a few visitors?” 

“Yeah.” The first ones in are my parents. I sit up, without waking Lori. 

“You have to stop doing this to me.” Mom says, wrapping me in a teary embrace. 

“He’ll probably start making a ton of new gadgets.” Dad says, joining us. 

“Where are the triplets?” I ask. 

“They aren’t allowed in here unless they’re actually hurt, and even then, they might have to get treated in the hall.” Dad explains. “But they wanted me to tell you that they’re really happy that you’re back. Except with a lot more screaming.” 

“That sounds like them.” I say, vaguely wondering what they did to get a ban on coming in here.  

“Lori’s next to you.” Mom notes. 

“Yeah. I actually like her, and she said she like me too, before…but now maybe we can be something.” 

“I hope you can.” 

“Do you think you could have another visitor? He’ll probably strangle me if I don’t let him in soon.” Elwin interjects. 

“Sure.” The second he opens the door, Fitz runs over to my cot and gives me a huge hug. 

“Stop doing this. This is the second time, and that’s two more than the number it should be.” He says. 

“I’ll try my best. It just seems like I’m always with the special girl at the wrong time.” 

“I have an assignment for you. You have to make me twenty self defence gadgets that you can use.” 

“Only twenty?” I say, rolling my eyes. I’m glad I decided to become friends with Fitz. 

“Sophie, he’s-” is all I hear from Elwin before Sophie comes and gives me the biggest strangle hug ever. 

“Dex, I was so worried about you!” She squeals. 

“Glad to see you too.” Somehow, Lori slept through all of this. I talk with everyone for a while longer, then Elwin announces that I need more rest. Although I want to keep talking with everyone, and enjoying the fact that I’m not tied up in a Neverseen basement anymore, I am exhausted.  Everyone hugs me again, and leaves. I turn over, and tentatively put an arm around Lori, careful not to wake her, and fall asleep.
