Megan's POV
I don't know what Cassidy is going to tell her mother at this point. It's clearly all up to her to make the decision. She's always so independent and always seems to know exactly what to do in a situation like this. That's why I'm kind of surprised when she whines to her mother. "It was Annabelle who did this! I can't believe her! She must've purposely given you the salt instead of the sugar! I knew we should've thought harder to prank her while we had the chance!"
Mrs. Sloane-Kinkaid looks shocked by Cassidy's sudden explosion. "Um what is this talk about pranking? Why are you so shaken about this? Did something happen upstairs up in the turret while I was baking?"
Cassidy looks at us for moral support, and I give her a slight nod, letting her tell her mom what has happened, though it can seem like too much. Cassidy takes in a quick breath before saying, "Annabelle attacked all of us."
Mrs. Sloane-Kinkaid panics. "WHAT?!" She runs to her daughter and grabs her arms and starts inspecting them, as though she were searching for bruises. She grabs my own arm and glances at it. Cassidy is trying to calm her mother down. "I didn't mean like that, mom. I meant she attacked us emotionally."
She lets go of our limbs but still doesn't seem to calm down. "That's still very bad, honey. I should call the rest of your mothers about this." She turns to the phone on the kitchen counter and begins madly dialling a number. Becca speaks up before she can hit call. "Um, Mrs. Sloane-Kinkaid? The truth is, we're all alright now. We really just want to some clear and straight revenge on Annabelle."
Cassidy nods with interest in the subject of pranking. Her mother sets down the phone, and she looks down at the floor. "Oh? So you speak of pranking. You know, David wasn't the only one to pass down the joking genes to Cassidy. I too was once a great prankster!"
Cassidy looks nervous. "Um, mom? What are you saying? Does this mean you want to prank Annabelle or something?"
"I want to join you girls! Please? It'll be so fun!"
Emma and Jess look at each other smiling, clearly amused by this idea. But Cassidy looks annoyed. "Mom, I don't think you any clue of how to prank."
Her mother crosses her arms, smiling. She gets defensive. "Is that a challenge I hear?"
Cassidy shrugs. "I guess."
"Alright, so let's not worry about Annabelle for now. I'm going to show you girls that I am capable of pranking you all. It'll come quick, and besides, Halloween is coming soon! So I'll prank you girls and then you'll decide whether I'm cut out for helping you with your Annabelle prank!"
Cassidy, looking jokingly flustered, finally agrees, and Mrs. Sloane-Kinkaid gets all jumpy and excited. I, for one, am nervous. I did not intend to come to Sloane-Kinkaid's house to come out with a target on my back!
On our way back home, Sophie and I walk into a nearby café to get a snack. Sophie asks me, "I never knew that all of you have this sort of fun! Does this normally happen?"
"Getting so involved in a pranking competition? No, this doesn't happen a lot. But we do get a lot of this kind of drama." I smile at Sophie. "Welcome to the club."
A/N: hey guys! I apologize that this was a slightly shorter chapter than usual. I think I'm going to end off Stinkerbelle's Revenge and make the whole pranking competition a new separate chapters under the name of Proving To Prank or something like that. Let me know what you think in the comments of the name, or if you have any other suggestions.
