Emma's POV

"You really don't like socializing, do you?" This is what I hear, when I get startled by Alisia.

I turn to look at her, shocked that she had said something this rude.

"Um... No, I mean, I do, ummm... Wait, what? No.. Um, hold on...!"

I can't seem to find the right words to answer her right now.

I wait for her to leave, and eventually she does, and I take this opportunity to run out of the house.

Immediately after I step outside and slam the door behind me do I realize that I should have brought a jackter out with me. Its snowing like crazy, and I don't want to go back inside because I don't want to look stupid.

So I find a curb with only a little snow on it and crouch down, shivering in place. After I don't know how long, I hear a door close from behind me and the next thing I know, Stewart is sitting next to me on the curb as well.

Stewart sighs and says, "Look, I was kind of expecting this to happen. Nonna Alisia is not really the person you want to get upset with. She can get under your skin sometimes. You just gotta learn to live with it. You understand me?"

I just sit there, not making eye contact.

"Hmmm... That's what I thought..."

"Its just that I feel like I don't quite fit in with your family, especially your grandmother! She makes me feel different and out of place..." I finally find my words to say something.

"Yeah, OK. I kind of have to tell you something..."

"What...?" I ask, curiously but cautiously.

"Ummm I kind of said that my grandmother was excited to see you just so you can come here with me... I am always kind of nervous around her. She's always picking on me..."

I stare at him in wonder, now ignoring the fact that I am starting not to feel my fingers. "Dude, that's just wimping out." I retort.

We laugh a little and when Stewart asks for forgiveness, I accept.

Then we head inside and join the party again. Everything is good now.
