Megan's POV
I grab a pair of scissors and shove them in my bag. I run out the door after my mother and my grandmother and hop in the drivers seat after them.
"Megan, are you sure you want to drive today? It's a little bit of a drive to Pies and Prejudice." My mother asks me as I buckle myself in the seat.
I nod, telling her that I'm perfectly alright with driving today. My mother has been always a little hesitant with letting me drive the car, always thinking that we could somehow end up with a wrecked car driven into a pole. But that's never happened. I'm a careful driver, besides, if something were to happen to the car while my mother was here I'd surely get grounded. No way am I letting that happen.
We get to the tea shop without anything happening out of the ordinary. My mother lets out a relieved sigh.
Gigi opens the door to the shop, which has some people waiting around for it to open for the day. They slip inside as we file in.
I walk over to the stand that was assigned to me. It's a cupcake stand and it's going to be opened officially for business as a new stand for Pies and Prejudice. I'm glad I have a responsibility here now, it makes me feel like I play a big role in the family business.
Today, the big opening for the cupcake stand. The cupcakes have been freshly baked when I came in to bake them this morning with Emma. There's a little ribbon wrapped around the glass case containing the cupcakes. The ribbon's for when I have to cut it for the grand opening. There isn't going to be a big celebration with anyone or anything, just me, Gigi and my mother.
My mother and Gigi come to my cupcake stand to watch me cut the ribbon with the scissors I brought along with me. They give a little clap as the scissors slip through the ribbon so easily. The ribbon falls to the ground. They clap a little more, making some customers confused and decide to mimic them out of confusion. I let out a small laugh as I see this. Some people are starting to line up at the front counter. Some come to the new stand.
I happily help them out to buy some cupcakes.
