ChildInnit (Part 1)

//// Tommy gets turned into a baby :)

It was just a regular day on the SMP lands. Tommy was messing around with his tower near the prison, adding some details and rooms out of boredom. Tubbo and Ranboo were busy and he didn't feel like traveling all the way to the tundra to annoy Techno or chat with Phil. Wilbur was out of the question. He doesn't want to spend time with his crazy brother that is obsessed with his rivalry with Quackity and Las Nevadas. And with Dream in the prison, there was no need to constantly grind for better and stronger gear.

So he went back to the old tower he built forever ago, back when Ghostbur was still alive. He missed the happy ghost and Friend quite a bit, especially now when the revived Wilbur was such a bitch. All he had was a blue sweater made from Friend's wool and some of the blue dye the ghost had given him. Everything else... either lost or destroyed during the doomsday explosions. He groaned and tried to get rid of the depressing thoughts and focused on his brewing stand.

It was annoying to build stuff on the outside, so he was making some potions of slow falling to have better access. Or at least he thinks he is. Techno had brewed some when he was over there, so he knows that he has to use phantom membranes. But the rest was mostly guessing on his part, since he didn't really pay attention. Watching Techno make potions was pretty boring, so he zoned out or got  distracted every five minutes. Were golden carrots in it? He thought he saw Techno put them in, so he did as well. Also Redstone and a spider eye. Wait... wasn't that potion of weakness? No... why would Techno make those? They were definitely in a potion to get stronger... no that's blaze powder.

He grabbed the finished potion and inspected it, watching the light blue swirls move around. It does have the same color. Right? Yes, it was blue. No... that was swiftness. But swiftness uses sugar... wasn't slow falling white? No... it did look like a very light blue. He just shrugs and drinks it anyways. What's the worst that can happen? He has some milk right next to him in case he accidentally made poison or harming, so he'll be fine.

A weird tingle ran through his body and he felt dizzy. "That doesn't feel like slow falling..." His vision became blurry and he immediately tried to grab the milk, not liking the strange feeling. But before he could fully grab and drink it, he collapsed to the ground and lost consciousness.

Sam was doing his regular patrol around the prison, checking the walls and roof of the prison for any kind of damage. Dream should never even have the tiniest chance of escaping, so it was mandatory to check every last corner every day. Tiring, but that's just part of the protocol. A small sound to his left caught his attention. It came from the small watchtower Tommy had build out of spite when he banned him from the prison grounds. But who could blame him, he doesn't want the teen to get hurt again or free dream, either on purpose or on accident. Just look at what happened to Ghostbur because of that.

The weird sound from the tower grew louder. It sounded like... crying? Oh what happened now? Sam used one of his Enderpearls to teleport over to the tower. Maybe Tommy was in trouble or having a breakdown. It happened before and even with the teen showing an obvious hatred for the creeper hybrid, he can't help but be a bit concerned for his safety. He has been through enough trauma as it is.

But when he landed on the tower and went inside, he didn't find Tommy... or at least not the same Tommy he saw a few days ago. His clothes were piled on the ground and right in the middle laid a small toddler, no older than a year. He had the same blonde hair and blue eyes as well as the small scar on his cheek. There is no way this is a coincidence, especially with the pile of clothes that were obviously Tommy's.

"Tommy?" The creeper hybrid carefully picked up the crying child, wrapping it in the way too big red and white shirt that had been laying on the ground. Tommy looked up at the prison guard, his crying calming down to small hiccups as he tried to curl up more into the warmth of the shirt. "There you go..." Sam looked around, trying to figure out what had happened that could cause the teen to turn back into a baby. An empty potion bottle laid on the floor, together with a knocked over milk bucket.

There's no way that's the cause of this... right? "How in the world did you manage to do this... I never heard of a de-aging potion." Of course the toddler didn't give an answer. Instead, his cries started to get louder again when he tried to snuggle closer to the guard, only to meet cold netherite. Sam tried to calm him down, rocking him and talking to him in a gentle voice, but nothing worked. In fact, it only got worse over time, the cries growing in volume quickly.

The creeper sighed and walked back to the prison, keeping the crying child close to his chest, who just cried louder when being pressed against the cold armor. Even with a kid, he has to keep Dream locked away and guarded at all times. He noticed a single crow watching him carry Tommy before it flew off north. And everyone on this server knows what happens when a crow is watching you like that.

"Looks like someone might pay us a visit later... Depending if he still cares about you or not." Tommy just kept on whining, squirming so much it was hard to keep a good hold on him. Sam almost dropped him twice before tightening his grip. "By Prime above, will you just hold still for a second? You're gonna hurt yourself." He placed the child down on his desk, crouching down a little to be on eye level. "I'm trying to help you. You have to work with me here."

The toddler stared at Sam for a few seconds, completely still, before he slapped him in the face. Granted, he's a toddler and a hit from him hurts as much as a drop of rain hitting his face, but he still didn't like the kid's attitude. "Hey! What do you think you're doing! Don't just hit people, that's rude!"

Tommy started wailing again and Sam was sure that his eardrums would burst. "Okay okay. I'm sorry. Please stop crying." He tried to reach for the child, but Tommy hit his arms and tried to crawl away, almost falling off the desk. "Nononono!" Sam catched him, but the kid immediately tried to get away from him again, screaming and squirming. "Tommy please! I'm trying to help you!"

God why is taking care of him so much harder than when he took care of his own kid?! Is it because Tommy still has his memories? Or maybe because Phil just raised them differently. But even then, kids shouldn't have such disrespect for adults! Surely he wouldn't allow his kids to hit others! Then again... seeing who his kids turned out to be, maybe he did raise them like this.

The bell signifying a visitor made him jump. Right... talking about the avian. Since he saw a crow earlier, this must be him. Sam opened the portal and allowed the visitor in, grabbing his sword just in case it wasn't who he was expecting. Sure enough, out the portal came Phil with his striped hat and a crow on his shoulder. "Sam. A crow told me you did something with Tommy. What-" He stopped when seeing the tiny toddler in Sam's arms, immediately recognizing who it was. Who wouldn't recognize their own child?

"I didn't do anything. I found him like this in his tower." Phil stepped closer and smiled when Tommy looked at him, squealing and stretching his arms out for him. "Hey buddy... what happened to you?" He carefully took the child into his own arms, laughing when Tommy reached for his hat immediately. The avian allowed him to take it and play with it. "Yeah... you always loved my hat." Sam stared at the scene in disbelief. Tommy had been screaming just a second ago and now he was giggling and squealing while playing with Phil's iconic hat.

The crow on his shoulder trilled at the small boy, who immediately cooed and reached a hand up for the bird. Sam was about to warn Phil, tell him how rough he is with anything he touches, but stopped when he saw the bird hopping down to nestle itself onto the child's chest and stomach, allowing him to pat it's head. He was suprisingly gentle with the creature for a one year old.

"He grew up with the crows... he never once hurt them, nor did they hurt him." A gentle smile was now permanently on the winged man's face as he held his son close, keeping him safe while he played with the black bird. "You said you found him like this?" "Yes... in his little tower next to the prison. There was an empty potion next to him." "Then this shouldn't be permanent. There is no potion in existence that keeps it's effect forever." "There also isn't a potion that turns people back into toddlers." "There are so many combinations we haven't tried. It might be possible."

The tiny baby yawned and snuggled into the soft green and blue clothes of his father, who immediately detached his winter cloak and wrapped it around him too. "We'll see what will happen. I'll take him home with me." Into the Arctic? With Technoblade? Sam didn't like that thought. "I don't think that's a good idea... you live in the tundra. That's way too cold. And it's so dangerous with Technoblade around and-"

The creeper was met with the cold stare of the avian, who held his sleeping child against his chest. "I don't remember asking for your opinion. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm taking my child home with me. I've raised him around Technoblade the first time and that won't change just because you don't like him." Without another word, the bird turned around and left through the portal, leaving the prison guard in the main room by himself.

It was a short travel home, but for Phil it felt like hours. He didn't dare to travel through the Nether with a toddler, so he had to take the long route. And even that didn't take that long usually, but he also refuses to use his trident, not even bringing the kid near any water when he knows that they will enter the tundra soon and he could freeze to death.

He sighed in relief when finally seeing the safety of his and Techno's little cottage in the distance. Just in time too, as it was starting to get dark now. The crow that was perched on his shoulder flew off towards the houses, obviously planning on telling the others what had happened. Phil couldn't care less about how many other crows will hear about this. The most important thing is to get Tommy inside and into some warmer clothes.

He immediately relaxed when the warmth of his house surrounded him after closing the door. Tommy still felt pretty warm where he's pressed against his chest and wrapped in his cloak, so he probably won't get sick. A small smile made its way onto Phil's face as he carried the toddler upstairs and carefully laid him down on his bed, using pillows to make a barrier around him. Can't risk him rolling off the bed.

Once he was absolutely sure that Tommy was safe, he went through a bunch of chests to search for some clothes. Good thing the immortal is such a hoarder when it comes to things with sentimental value, like photo albums or some of the baby stuff when his boys were small. Sure, he tells people that items mean nothing and he still stands with that. If it would safe someone's life, he would burn it all immediately. But for now... he kept them close. It's one of the few things that remind him of that simpler time... when everything was alright.

When his boys were happily playing together, when Techno teached Wilbur and Tommy how to use a sword (without Phil's permission. He just came home after Techno agreed to watch them by himself to see them train with wooden swords), when Tommy took his first steps, when Wilbur held his first guitar. It was just... better back then. More peaceful. No wars, no nations to defend or destroy. Just their little family.

A crow perched itself on his shoulder and cooed, nudging him out of his thoughts. "Right... sorry... got lost in thoughts again." He finally found a small bundle of baby clothes he had kept and smiled, walking back to his bedroom. Tommy was still asleep and curled up under the thick blanket, small noises leaving him every now and again. Phil sat down on the bed and carefully moved Tommy to where he could change him into warmer and proper clothes.

Suprisingly, the toddler kept sleeping throughout the whole changing, not even stirring. At first Phil was worried, but that immediately changed when he held Tommy in his arms again and saw how he curled up against the warm chest of his father, a tiny fist holding on to his shirt.

A few crows had gathered in the room now and watched as Phil hummed an old lullaby he used to sing to them, one Kristin had taught him when they had Wilbur. Being the goddess of Death didn't allow her to spend a lot of time around her husband and children, but she did try to be there as much as she could when the boys were smaller. She managed to see Wilbur's first steps and hear Tommy's first word, but also missed some events due to her duties. Phil never blamed her. He knows how hard it is to keep the circle of life and death going and he was grateful for every second they were able to spend together.

It was also her that asked Techno to protect her family. Of course he would have done it anyways, as Phil is his friend and they had lived together for centuries, but she had asked anyways. Not as a goddess or higher being, but as a worried mother. A friend. And it was what kept him around the kids, even long after they grew into teenagers and adults. Well... almost adult for Tommy. Techno never had been good with kids and would have loved to at least stay in a different house to escape the chaos, but he didn't. He protected them, just like how he promised.

A sound from downstairs made Phil turn his attention to the hallway outside his room. Soon the large figure of his companion appeared in his view. "There you are. I was looking for you. Where did- Is that a toddler?" Techno stared at the sleeping child in his friend's arms, immediately noticing the small detail that it looked a lot like Phil. "Um... yes? It is." "You never told me you and Kristin were expecting again. Looks like another mini Phil."

Phil laughed and walked over to Techno, allowing him to get a better look at the child. "This isn't a new child... it's Tommy." The Piglin hybrid stared down at the tiny toddler, clearly not believing that this is the same loud mouthed teen he had seen a few days ago. "Sam found him like this with an empty potion bottle next to him. When a crow saw them they immediately got me."

Tommy started to squirm in Phil's arms and yawned, showing that he doesn't have any teeth yet. By prime how young is he? One year olds usually have a few teeth by now. Bright blue eyes opened and started to look around, still half asleep. "Now that you said it... he does look like him." "It is him. I'm absolutely sure about it." "If you say so."

When Tommy finally spotted Techno, he squealed and reached up for the hybrid. The tiniest smile appeared on his face when he allowed to baby to grab his finger and play with it. "So... what now?" "What do you mean 'what now'? We just raise him again, like we did before." "You mean you raise him and I have to listen to his screams... again..." Phil just shook his head as he left the room and walked downstairs, Techno following close behind. "We need to make him some food... I'm just not sure if it should be milk or not. Tommy always was a small baby and later made a huge jump when he was a teen... it's hard to tell if he's old enough to start eating other things."

"I mean... we can just do milk for now to keep it safe. Do you think we have the stuff to make some or should I ride to the village?" The bird looked over at his friend, grinning. "Awww I knew you liked him." Techno huffed and grumbled some curse in Piglin. "Do you want help or not?" "I think we have the stuff here, but not a lot of it." "Then I'll go and get some." Within a minute, he had grabbed Emeralds, a bag and his cloak and left the house.

Phil laughed and looked down at Tommy, who was playing with Phil's necklace that Kristin gifted him. "See? He has a huge soft spot for you." The child just cooed and reached up for his father's hat now. Phil let him take it and held him close with one arm while preparing a bottle with the other. Good thing that he had some formula here for emergencies, as it had happened that Ranboo had asked him to watch Micheal for him.

Once the bottle was done he sat down on a chair and fed Tommy, who eagerly drank it all. Looks like someone is pretty hungry. But Tommy had always been a hungry baby, sometimes drinking one or two bottles more a day than usual. At least he catched up on all the weight he needed to gain, being born prematurely and all.

Techno returned only a few minutes after Tommy finished his dinner, yawning loudly afterwards. "I got enough to last us a week for now. We don't know for how long he will stay like this." Phil nodded while slowly walking around the room, humming that lullaby again. For a few moments he felt like he traveled back in time, back to the cottage in the woods where he raised his sons the first time. Back to when everything was okay, when their family was okay.

Techno watched him walk around with Tommy, putting away his things while doing so. It's been a while since he had seen Phil so relaxed and calm. Sure, the avian usually was the calmest there is, only snapping here and there when his crows just annoyed him too much, but never so relaxed and peaceful. The last time he saw him like this was shortly before Wilbur and Tommy left to go on their own adventure, only three years ago.

"Take him to bed... and go right with him. I'll clean up down here." "Are you sure? I can still help you." "Yeah. You need the rest. Just go." Phil smiled and nodded, slowly making his way back up the stairs to his bedroom. It had been a long day after all... and he was pretty tired. While he got ready for bed, Techno cleaned up the last few things on the bottom floor before retreating into his own bedroom.

The lights were dimmed and the house became quiet.

Phil woke up to the sounds of a baby crying. He groaned and looked at the window, noticing the moon was still high in the sky. The avian turned back to where the crying was coming from. Tommy laid in a small nest he had made for him, crying loudly. "Shhh... hey its okay... Dad's here..." Phil picked up the screaming child and held him against his chest, rocking back and forth. "I'm here... everything's okay..." Tommy's crying didn't stop, not even after he started singing him his lullaby again.

That's one of the things that made raising a child difficult... they can't tell you what's wrong. At least not at this age. Phil got up and walked around the room, rocking Tommy while he tried to think of ways to calm him down. He's probably not hungry, he would tug at Phil's shirt if he was. A useful little detail that Tommy had developed. "Mmm... you want Henry? Remember Henry?" He knelt down and opened one of his many chests, searching through it until he found Tommy's old cow plush. It was missing an ear and had lost a bit of color over the years of washing it, but was otherwise fine.

Almost immediately, Tommy calmed down when the cow was placed in his arms, hugging it tightly while sniffing and hiccuping. "There you go... Henry always made you feel better." Phil sat back down on the bed, keeping his child close while he slowly fell back asleep. He got comfortable and made sure not to wake Tommy up before starting to drift off to sleep again himself.

When Phil woke up the next morning, he immediately knew something was off. He was curled up in his bed under his blanket, his wings spilling out over the bed behind him. Why does he feel like something's wrong? A yawn forced itself out when he sat up. His room looked normal. His desk, closet, bed, the small nest next to him. Wait...

"Tommy?!" He jumped out of his bed and checked if his child was really gone before he sprinted downstairs. Once he got to the bottom of the stairs, he stopped and stared at the scene in front of him. Techno was sitting on the couch in front of the fireplace, an empty bottle on the table and a squealing toddler in his arms that was happily playing with his crown. The Piglin had heard the fast steps coming down the stairs and waved. "Morning Phil."

The bird sighed in relief and plopped down on the couch as well. "You gave me a heart attack... I thought Tommy was gone." Techno chuckled and looked back down at the toddler. "He was squirming around and cooing when I checked on you. You were still asleep, so I took him downstairs to let you sleep longer." "Thank you... but at least leave a note or something. Don't do this again..." "Oh come on. You know no one can come in here undetected. The wolves and crows make sure of that." "Still a bad way to wake up... thinking your child is gone."

They watched Tommy for a while, playing small games with him to keep him occupied. Even Techno stayed for the whole day, who clearly was growing more attached to the kid by the second. "He's not as annoying like this", was what he said as an excuse, but Phil didn't buy it. The hybrid had a soft spot for both of Phil's kids from the start. He had helped raise them and became a sort of uncle for them.

A knock on the door made them both look up. Phil opened the door and smiled when seeing their young Enderman hybrid friend. "Hey... Um... have you seen Tommy by any chance? He didn't show up to our meet up point and isn't answering his communicator." "Yeah. He's here. You can come say hello to him if you want." Ranboo nodded and entered the home. What he didn't expect to see was Techno, holding a baby Tommy in his arms.

"Wait... what?"

Decided to make this a 2 parter because I like this part so far but have no motivation to write the second one yet. I still wanted to show you this part though  ^-^
