Dye Your Hair to Prove a Point
based on my headcanon of techno having pink hair. TW: homophobes and rude words.
No one expected the blood god to have pink hair. But no one remembered the time when he didn't, either. Because he never left his home world, until his friend dragged him onto a different server.
Skywars. An interesting start to the beginning of a life of bullying small children.
He spent hours and hours playing games with his friend, before a proper was given.
"C'mon bacon! Don't let some rando kill you! You got this!" his friend cheered, floating, almost invisible, above him. Bacon, pig, potato, porkchop, king; all types of names given because of the pig ears hidden in Techno's brown hair.
The diamond sword easily sliced across the other's body, sending him to the void.
"If you wish to defeat me, train for another hundred years!"
"Try again, nerds. Honestly, I won't be surprised if you get the highest rank for Skywars."
He chuckled and pulled up his communicator screen to select another game. The familiar cage surrounded him as the countdown began.
Lilia, his friend, rushed to grab blocks as the cage disappeared and Techno tested armour and weapons. Tossing a stone sword to Lilia and taking an iron for himself, they crossed over the emptiness to head to the middle.
Other players were already fighting over the loot, and Techno joined in the fight, as Lilia quickly enchanted a pair of leggings.
Easy. Easy. And die. A body was knocked off the side, and a message popped up on Techno's screen.
After the game, Lilia dragged him to the hub to check out the rank.
Always has her head in the clouds, he thought, rolling his eyes. Why would she care about my accomplishments?
A holograph of Techno stood beside the game titles, stating stats. 349 wins. That's only in solos. 349. In a row. Wow.
"Well? What's the stats?" Lil asked, staring at what would be a holograph of herself instead.
"Three hundred forty-nine wins."
"Hahaaa! No one can stop the pig king!" she cheered, and offered to grab a bite at a coffee shop in the main hub. And naturally, she chose a ham pretzel. As they sat at a table, Lilia's eyes wandered across the cafe, looking at other customers.
"I'll be right back," she said, putting down her pretzel and strutting over to another table.
Techno couldn't hear what she and the two others were talking about, but he knew what this was about. Lilia, being the flirty, girly girl she was, was trying to hook up with someone. Again. Maybe to get Techno jealous, maybe to have someone with her or maybe to prove that she was pretty enough to get what she wanted.
So it surprised her when both of the boys sitting at the table frowned at her and stormed out of the shop. She frowned at them and headed back to her friend.
"What was that about?"
"Hmph. I thought that one of those boys were kinda cute, so I asked for his number and whatnot, but he turned me down. He turned me down!"
"Hm." I don't really care.
"Ugh, I should've known that they were a bunch of homos." Techno's eyebrows arched at that comment. Lil carried on. "Faggots. Like, don't they realize that boys are supposed to like girls and girls like boys? It's abnormal."
Okay. So I didn't expect that my best friend was a homophobe. Although I should've, now that I think about it. Time after time, Lilia would always wear stereotypical 'girly' clothes. Draw 'cute' things. Try to not fight, since that wasn't very 'lady-like'. Her favourite colour was pink. Of course, she had her own opinions.
Techno finished his sandwich and bid Lil goodbye, before heading to another store down the street and teleporting to his home world.
It was a few weeks later that Lilia popped by, and offered to play some more skywars.
And Techno both hated and loved the look of pure confusion and disgust on Lil's face when he saw his hair, now dyed pink to match his pig ears.
And then destroying her in the skywars game, killing her over and over, saying that no, it wasn't personal, yes, she was a bad player and no, he will not play skywars with her anymore.
Well, maybe there was one person who'd remember the time Techno had brown hair, but she'd never want to talk to him again, and, even though Techno lost his only friend, he was glad she never did.
god its late. ALSO, it hurt so much to write the f word in this; no one should ever be called that. Be supportive of your peers <3
