Jake's Takes

(Jacob Batalon, Tom Holland, & Zendaya are sitting across from an interviewer.)

Jake: Guys, good to see you.

Tom: Nice to see you.

Jake: Welcome to London.

Zendaya: Thank you.

Jake: I'm honestly surprised not to see (Y/N) behind you, Tom. Him being your bodyguard and all.

Jacob: [chuckles]

Tom: He's actually over there. *points*

(Jake looks over at Y/N standing with some crew members.)

(Y/N): *waves* Hello.

Tom: I can bring him over.

Jake: If you don't mind?

Tom: Not at all. (Y/N)! Come here, mate!

(Y/N): Are you sure? I mean, I'm fine right here. You're in my line of sight.

Jacob: "Line of sight" [chuckles] So serious.

(Y/N): I'd be out of frame anyway.

Jake: No you won't.

Zendaya: Get over here!

(Y/N): Yes, ma'am.

(He walks over to the trio & stands behind Tom.)

Jake: You know I'm a huge Spider-Man fan so for me the only bad thing about your Spider-Man is that we had to wait so long to get him. Well, I think 13 movies.

Zendaya: Aw.

Tom: I was waiting for you to say that. Take it easy.

Jake: If you could drop Spider-Man in one of the earlier Marvel films and kind of see him play around and have some fun, what is the scene earlier pre Spider-Man that you'd love to see him play around in?

Tom: Well, Spider-Man is actually in a previous Marvel movie. My version of Spider-Man. Do you know where it is?

Jake: I don't.

Tom: Do you guys know where it is? (Y/N), don't answer because I know you already know what Marvel movie it is.

(Y/N): These lips are sealed.

Jacob: Are you talking about the Iron Man thing?

Tom: Yeah, my Peter Parker is in Iron Man 2. At the end when all the robots are attacking all the people and the little kids wearing an Iron Man mask and the bad robot recognizes the Iron Man mask as a threat and the kid puts his hand up then Tony Stark lands next to him and blows him away and goes "Good job, kid." and flies away. That's Peter Parker.

(Y/N): Quite the mouthful there.

Zendaya: That's the theory.

Tom: No, it was actually me.

Zendaya: It's confirmed? Can we confirm that?

Tom: Kevin Feige actually confirmed it.

Zendaya: Oh, then it's confirmed.

Jake: That's awesome.

Tom: It's not actually me, it's Jon Favreau's son, Max.

Zendaya: Aw.

Jake: Aw.

(Y/N): Adorable.

Jake: So trivia, there's another person who has played Spider-Man that we just don't know about.

Jacob: Nice.

Zendaya: Fun fact.

(Y/N): The more you know.

Jake: You know, obviously one of the fun things that we all hear about you is that you're not the best at keeping Marvel secrets to yourself.

Tom: Yeah.

Jake: I'm sort of curious not that we're past Endgame. Past Infinity War. What is the biggest Marvel secret you were able to get out of him?

Zendaya: "Get out of him."

Jacob: I feel like it wasn't hard to...

Zendaya: We don't have to.

Jacob: He just says it.

Jake: [chuckles] He just says it?

Zendaya: He's just very excited.

Tom: You have to imagine I do all these interviews and I keep it to myself so the next person I talk to I'm like; "Oh, my God. This happens..."

Zendaya: And I guess we're safe people to talk to about it. We have to find out at some point.

(Y/N): I just tune him out.

Tom: No you don't.

Jake: Well, especially for this movie, you had to know things about Endgame that we as fans didn't know which I kinda felt bad you guys didn't get to experience it organically. How were you told that Iron Man is dead?

(Imagine Y/N standing behind Tom.)

Jacob: I mean, yeah.

Zendaya: He told me too early.

(Y/N): I was driving him back to the hotel one day...

Tom: Oh. [chuckles] I remember this.

(Y/N): We were stuck in traffic and then, out of nowhere, he just blurts out; "Iron Man dies in Endgame!"

Jake: [laughs]

Zendaya: You didn't.

Tom: I did.

(Y/N): Took everything in me not to pull over and fight him.

Jacob: He would've killed you.

Tom: [chuckles] Don't remind me.

Jake: You know, with Spider-Verse which we got a couple of months ago and this film touches on the idea of the multiverse and kind of different people in different universes coming in. Any chance there's a multiverse in which Andrew Garfield Spider-Man and Tobey Maguire Spider-Man and then your Spider-Man all meet together?

Zendaya: That would be dope.

(Y/N): I'd like to see it happen.

Jacob: Clashing.

Jake: Then you could just say that everyone just comes from a different universe.

(Imagine Y/N behind Tom.)

(Y/N): [chuckles]

Jake: Is your no answer an answer within itself?
Tom: The thing about this film that's so exciting is that we take Spider-Man to Europe and what's so cool about that is you've never seen Spider-Man in before...now of course I'd love to make a movie with those guys. That would be so cool.

Jacob: [laughs]

Jake: I was like oh, we're getting the junket answer.

(Y/N): Had me going there for a bit.

Tom: No, it would be amazing. It would be really, really cool and it's something the fans really want so whether Marvel and Sony decide to do that...

Zendaya: Decide to do it. [chuckles]

(Y/N): Fingers crossed.

Tom: It's not up to me. I can't walk in and say; "Kevin, this is what we're doing on the next one." But yeah it would be really awesome.

Jake: There's a great scene on the roof with you and Jake where you sort of talk about who we call to talk about superheroes. When you guys, like, you still have friends that you call to geek out? Because I have friends and whenever I see a movie like this I have a list of people I have to call and tell them whether it's good or not.

(Y/N): You do important work.

Jake: Ha, I really do. My buddies from elementary school. You guys have people that you can still geek out to about this?

Tom: For sure.

Zendaya: Yeah.

(Y/N): Definitely.

Tom: I've got my buddy, Tom Hutton. Him and I were like first in line for every Marvel movie and he's the first person I tell all the spoilers to, he's the only person I can really like outside of film friends who I can really tell all the secrets to.

Jake: Guys, seriously this movie's absolutely incredible and I don't say that unless I mean otherwise I sit here and go "it's a movie, it exists." But seriously, I love you guys and as a Spider-Man fan, thank you for giving me the movies I always wanted as a kid so from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Zendaya: Thank you.

Tom: Appreciate it.

Jacob: That's great, man.

(Y/N): I'm happy we can do that for you.

(A solo interview this time between Jake & Y/N.)

Jake: Hello, again.

(Y/N): Hey, Jake.

Jake: I'm not alone when I say this but I just love the relationship your Wolverine and Spider-Man have in this movie.

(Y/N): I love it too.

Jake: We've never seen Spider-Man have a brother-like figure before. Can you tell me how you were able to bring out that feeling of an older brother in the movie?

(Y/N): For starters, I am an older brother. I'm two years older than my younger brother and that small age group has really helped us bond and stay close. Also, from what I'm sure you've heard or seen, Tom and I are good friends.

Jake: Of course. This is your fifth film together.

(Y/N): Correct! And with each film we're in together, I become his bodyguard once again.

Jake: Your chemistry together really is something.

(Y/N): Thanks for saying that.

Jake: This is the first Marvel movie where we see Y/N and Natasha after the events of Endgame. Was your reaction when you found out that you would save her on Vormir?

(Y/N): I was obviously excited. I got to save my wife from certain death. In the movie of course.

Jake: [chuckles] Yeah.

(Y/N): I'll let you in on something. We filmed two other cuts of that scene. One, where Natasha dies and another where I stay dead.

Jake: That's crazy!

(Y/N): Safe to say that I was focused intently on that scene in the movie, wondering which one they used.

Jake: I'm sure you were happy to see Scarlett again on set?

(Y/N): Are you implying something, Jake?

Jake: No.

(Y/N): [chuckles] I was happy to see her. She's an amazing actress and great person.

Jake: I shot this question to Tom as you know so I'll shoot the same kind of question to you. Is there a chance we see your Wolverine and Hugh Jackman Wolverine together?

(Y/N): Like a Wolverse? Or Wolverine-Verse?

Jake: Haha, something like that.

(Y/N): I'd certainly love that to happen one day. It's something the fans want to see just like seeing all of the Spider-Men together. They've wanted his Wolverine in the MCU since the beginning and they got me. If those are the cards Marvel has yet to play...let's hope they play them.

Jake: It was a pleasure talking to you, (Y/N).

(Y/N): And to you, Jake.

Jake: I'm sorry about this.

(Y/N): About what?

(Jacob and Zendaya appear beside Y/N, wearing suits and shades.)

(Y/N): I take it you're my bodyguards for today?

Jacob: Yes, Mr. (L/N).

(Y/N): [chuckles] Okay. I'm surprised you're going along with this, Zendaya.

Zendaya: I couldn't miss out on this, Mr. (L/N). It seemed like too much fun.

(Y/N): Stop calling me that.

(Tom walks up to Y/N wearing the same but with an earpiece.)

Tom: You heard him.

(Y/N): [laughs] You're taking this quite seriously.
Tom: We have it. It's our job to protect you.

(Y/N): Well, I feel very safe right now.
