The Four Lin Kuei Warriors began making their way to the main building to meet with their grandmaster

In the mean time hydro and tomas made conversation.

"So Tomas, you figure out how to turn invisible yet?" Hydro asked interested in the warriors unique magic.

" Sadly no, its proved to be a more difficult endeavor then i expected, even floating didn't give me this much trouble." Tomas said discontent, he had been trying to pull off invisibility for weeks now

" Ah don't sweat it kid, it took me about a year to learn how to slice things with my water, keep at it you'll get there, who knows you might just have to make thinner smoke clouds hehe." Hydro chuckled, as he walked with his hands behind his head.

" thinner smoke...." Tomas thought , he would have to experiment with that later.

A bit ahead of them cyrax and y/n were leading , with y/n looking at his allies converse before facing forward again.

"Cyrax...tell me..what do you think about the cyber initiative?" Y/n asked, he knew how Sektor felt about it all too well, he was curious about cyrax's point of view.

"Hm...Well, on one side i understand why its being discussed, The Lin Kuei has been around for centuries but we have been slow in evolving, around the world people are taking advantage of technology and making truly powerful weapons, The Late Tony Stark being the most prominent example." Cyrax spoke thoughtfully

Y/n couldn't help inwardly sigh at the mention of The Late Avenger, the Lin Kuei didn't engage with the outside world but they still kept up with what was going on, He respected the avengers dedication to earth, they all stood on the front lines against thanos.

Despite his great love and respect for his late father,
y/n hated that the majority clan voted against providing aid in the fight, he understood why, being out in the open like that would put a spotlight on the clan which would lead to bigger problems, but for a battle that affected not just the world but the very universe...it felt cowardly to him.

"I see what you mean...on the other side?" Y/n asked curiously.

Cyrax couldn't help but sigh

"cyberfication... this is not a matter of losing a limb and getting an enhancement, we are willingly becoming cyborgs, deadlier than before yes ...but at the expense of our bodies....who's to say our souls will remain?...I am loyal to the clan and i will serve ... but i cannot lie to myself and say I'm enthusiastic about this." Cyrax said grimly.

Y/n could understand Cyrax, the clan was all the man knew, His loyalty had been tested before and he never wavered, he truly embodied the spirit of the lin kuei.

"What of you y/n, what do you think about it?" Cyrax asked wishing to know what the ice ninja thought.

"...There was a lesson on freedom my father imparted to me, " Better to die fighting for freedom than be a prisoner everyday of your life." Y/n said recalling his father's wisdom.

" you believe the cyber initiative will make you a prisoner?." Cyrax asked trying to understand

"You could say that, as you said , who's to say our souls will remain as cyborgs? I understand serving the clan but ...that cannot be all we were meant for, serving the clan and risk loosing who i am in the process....it's just not a fair trade to me." Y/n said clenching his hand.

Cyrax nodded considering the younger warriors words.

" Well... this is still a discussion of course, Grandmaster is your brother, and you know him best, do you think he will go through with it?." Cyrax asked, it didn't matter what anybody thought, the one who had final the say was Bi-Han.

"Sigh....Bi-Han has always believed he could lead clan in the best direction, at his best he can be cunning, calculated and strategic, truly exceptional, this is why many rally behind him but at his worst.... he is Ruthless, Irrational....Heartless. Y/n said his tone expressing distaste.

"Heartless...do you mean to say he does not truly care about anyone?" Cyrax asked, he knew how brutal Bi-Han can be, but he had never heard him described in such a way.

" hm... me and my brother have been at odds for as long as i can remember, the camaraderie  brothers normally share...I want to say it hasn't been there since mother died.... We do and view things very differently, and that would be normal for anyone but...shall i tell you what truly drives a wedge between us?" Y/n asked Cyrax, hoping to put it a way he can best understand

"Please" Cyrax said, wishing to know.

" a few years ago me and Bi-Han were on a mission  together in hong kong, we were tasked with bringing in  a rouge lin kuei who attempted to expose our secrets " Y/n began explaining his mind flashing back to that day.

Flash back:
3 Years Ago, Hong Kong

It was midnight in bustling hong kong,

And in an ally way away from the crowd,  y/n and bi-han we currently surrounding their target.

A Saurian by the name of Syzoth

Aka...Reptile.

"We accepted you into our ranks and this is how you repay us you damn lizard?!" Bi-han spoke angrily,

"I did What I must!  My Family's lives are at stake and they this is the only way i can guarantee their safety ."  Syzoth hissed, a bag of stolen scrolls strapped to his back.

Y/n hoped to deescalate the  situation.

"Syzoth, please, you came to us seeking a home and shelter when you people cast you out,  Please come quietly and we can help you." Y/n pleaded, he didn't want to fight Syzoth.

Syzoth heard y/n words and closed his eyes, really considering them.

"I...I can't." Syzoth said, a fierce look on his face as he got into his stance.

"Fine By Me..." Bi Han growled  as created a sword.

Y/n just shook his head in disappointment and got into his stance as well.

Then...it began

"YAH!" Bi-han advanced

He took several swings at Syzoth, the saurian dodging each of them , then  Syzoth launched his tounge around his brothers arm and proceeded to yank him over over head slamming him into the ground

"NGH!!" Bi-han grunted as he landed.

Y/n took  the opportunity to launch a dragon kick at Syzoth that got blocked , there was  then a small exchange between them, trading and blocking blows respectively.

Until y/n proceeded to wrap his arms around syzoths legs and performed a Morote Gari

Having top position y/n began ground and pound, hoping to put Syzoth out of commission or force him to yield.

But Syzoth blocked Effectively and then spat acid at
Y/ns Arm

"Shit!" Y/n thought as the acid began eating away his arm brace.

Syzoth then used this opportunity to kick y/n off of him.

Syzoth then tried to get away but then an ice axe flew at him with the intention of decapitating him, he barely dodged it, the sharp edge cutting open his hood.

" YOU WILL NOT ESCAPE!." BI-Han yelled as he ran at syzoth and summoned two more axes.

Syzoth dodged the incoming swings until Bi-Han landed a good strike on Syzoths side.

"Agh!" Syzoth said as he jumped back and held his side, green blood leaking from it.

"Syzoth Please!" Y/n pleaded once again , ok as he unlatched his arm brace before the acid could reach his skin.

But Syzoth wasn't done yet,  he let go of the back.pack full of scrolls  and then unleashed his true saurian form.

"RAAAAAAGH!" Syzoth let out a rough roar at his opponents

Bi-Han and Y/n once again engaged Syzoth, this time they took care to avoid syzoths strikes, his true form gave him great strength

But one glaring weakness about this form is that now lacked his fighting prowess.

Y/n Froze Syzoths leg not to shatter it but to hinder his movement.

Bi-Han taking advantage of this hardened his fists with Ice and delivered a blow to Syzoths Rib cage and His face.

"AGGHH!" Syzoth grunted in pain, taking a swipe at Bi-Han which was dodged.

Y/n jumped and  delivered a spin kick to Syzoths head and will following through his momentum, y/n created a staff and shattered it on Syzoths head, Dazing him.

BI-Han then projected ice to his feet and slid across the ground and delivered a crushing  guy punch to Syzoths body that hurled the saurian several feet away.

Syzoth laid on the ground for a bit before finally turning back human, sitting up in pain, coughing up blood as he held his stomach.

"Enough!" Y/n spoke to syzoth, slowly approaching the him.

" I had..no choice.. if i had spoken to Grand Master and requested help ...My Family would have met the end of  a sword the moment the tengu clan caught wind of it." Syzoth spoke somberly, he did not want this.

"I understand my friend... you're desperate...unsure what to do..But please, if you deliver those scrolls many will lose their lives on both sides, i can speak to father, you know him, he will understand, please just comeback, we can work it all out." Y/n said offering his conflicted ally a helping hand up

Syzoth looked down a bit unsure of how to respond for a moment but finally he looked at y/n

"Ok" Syzoth spoke, willing to accept his friend's help.

Syzoth stretched out his hand to accept the hand up..

"Sshluck!"

Syzoth could hardly move, he looked down...

There was a spear of ice going through his body, right where his heart would be.

Syzoth puked out Blood..

"NO!" Y/n yelled out, break the front end of the spear and removing the back end of it.

Y/n  then  began freezing over the injury, hoping to keep him alive, but it was a futile effort.

Y/n saw syzoths eyes...he was gone.

"WHY??!!" Y/n shouted at Bi-Han who looked content as his work

"His life was forfeit when he decided to steal from the clan." Bi-Han spoke simply.

"His Family is in Danger, He Surrendered , You had No right!." Y/n yelled as he walked up to Bi-han, glaring fiercely at him.

"He was now apart of the lin-Kueis family and look where that got us, a traitor, unfortunate, he was useful." Bi-Han spoke simply, his voice showing no remorse.

"useful?! He was our comrade, we could have helped him !"  Y/n  yelled

"and risk bring the tengu to our doorstep? No, not worth the risk." Bi-Han scoffed, walking over to pick up the backpack of scrolls.

Y/n stared at the body of Syzoth, disgusted by what just transpired.

Bi-han walked by and looked at his brother before shaking his head.

"Spineless...just like father." Bi-Han spoke bitterly as he kept walking.

Y/ns hand clenched into a fist, he glared at Bi-Han, his eyes a fierce blue.

"And mother must be rolling in her grave..." Y/n said harshly.

This made Bi-Han stop, he didn't turn.. but y/ns  saw his body tense in anger....but the temperature of the area began dropping , both warriors causing frost to manifest in the on the ground and walls.

It looked like both brothers were about to come to blows, but they didn't.

"Speak of mother again.....and you will have to crawl your way back home." Bi-Han growled out, he then kept walking.

Y/n wanted nothing more than to than to  test him on that , but controlled himself, whats done is done, he went over to Syzoths Body and carried him over his shoulder,  he would give him a proper burial, he deserved this much, he was no traitor, not to him."

Flashback End.

"Syzoth didn't deserve to die...how many would do the same in his position...? My relationship with my brother was never the same after that." Y/n spoke somberly, he wishes things went differently that day.

" hm..." Cyrax sounded, unsure what to say, on one hand he believed Bi-han was acting in the clans best interest but the execution of Syzoth, it wasn't honorable.

But it seems they would have to continue the conversation another day.

"We're here, the big house!" Hydro announced as they were now in front of the main building of the Lin Kuei.

Y/n soon sighed, it was time to get this over with.

Soldiers at the gate opened the for them, they proceeded to walk throughout the hall and up the stairs.

Bi-Hans Office was at the top, several lower ranking members bowed to them as they made their way up.

Finally they got to the door to Bi-Hans office.

"Mind your manners." Cyrax spoke, though he looked at hydro when he said it.

"I know, I Know.." Hydro said rolling his eyes.

Cyrax opened the doors and the greeted by the sight Bi-Han leaning over a table , looking at a large map.

Every one bowed, which was common courtesy when entering the grandmasters headquarters.

"Apologies for the wait grandmaster, there was an issue involving Sektor." Cyrax spoke, knowing they should have been hear minutes ago.

"I am aware, and i know my brother  is partly to blame for that as well." Bi-Han spoke shifting his gaze to y/n

Y/n wasn't phased, disappointment and anger were the only emotions his brother seemed to project nowadays, so he gave him a little smile in response, showing that he couldn't care less.

Y/n enjoyed the look of irritation on his brother's face.

"That will be all Cyrax." Bi-Han spoke dismissing his left hand.

Cyrax bowed again and left the room, gently closing the doors on his way out.

Bi-han stood up from the table and began addressing the warriors.

"Smoke, Hydro, Tundra, I shall keep this brief." Bi-Han spoke as he circled the table.

They Awaited his words.

" Our scouts sent word about the tengu, they've been on the move for days but they are now at the ruins of Ying fortress." Bi-Han said circling the location on the map with his finger.

"Ying fortress.... Bold move." Y/n thought, the once abandoned fortress was only a few miles out,

"Their behavior is odd, they have sent no one near are borders and ive been told they are speaking of...experiments...you must go there, find out what they're planning." BI-Han explained.

"Ying Fortress is built to accommodate a small army ,we will  outnumbered...it would be wise to sneak in" Tomas said to y/n.

" Aw cmon, tengu got nothing we cant handle." Hydro said tomas  with a cocky smirk.

"No one Denies your talent hydro, but numbers still overwhelm, we do this quietly." Y/n said leaving no room for discuss.

"Fiiine, your no fun, ." Hydro said disappointed.

" The Blizzard has ceased for the time being, you head out now." Bi-Han motioning them out.

"Yes Grandmaster" hydro and Tomas said and bowed.

Y/n opted to just bow.

They began walking out but before y/n made it out the door.

"Y/n." Bi-Han said stopping his younger brother

Y/n held in a sigh and looked a this brother

"What?" Y/n said simply

"I will not tolerate failure, you will hold the blame if you do." Bi-han said firmly

Y/n just scoffed, Bi-Han was starting to sound  like a dictator.

" is that all?" Y/n asked, he didn't have time for Bi-Hans idea of motivation.

Bi-Han glared at y/n a bit before motioning him out.

Y/n walked to his headquarters nearby to gear up.

Y/n walked inside his room and unlocking his closet he looked at the different armors he had available.

"Hm....Lets go with ole reliable." Y/n seeing a suit that fit the mission best.

This armor only provided light protection, but it allowed for unrestricted movement and was best suited for stealth, it honestly his favorite.

"Time to go to work." Y/n said  as he tightened the last brace on his right glove, now prepared for the mission.

Some time later

Ying Fortress

Y/n was currently looking at the location through a  telescope.

" Well, whats our move boss man? Hydro spoke , now wearing his own uniform.

"Well, i don't see any other way up, we are gonna have to scale the wall." Y/n said as he minimized his telescope and put it in his back pocket.

"Aw Man, I hate climbing!" Hydro groans

" Let's just be grateful they haven't set up guards at the top." Smoke said noticing the lack of defenses

"No time to waste let's move it." Y/n said beginning to jog and the others following.

Soon they reached the wall and began climbing.

Y/n was using ice spikes to jam into the wall, Hydro formed a water whip that he threw to the top, using it as a grappling hook.

And Smoke was flying, a whirlwind of smoke aiding him.

"Showoff!" Hydro yelled look at smoke, he was jealous that tomas could even do that.

"Hehe." Smoke chuckled, he loved his powers.

"Nearly there hydro, keep up!" Y/n  as he kept climbing.

Soon they reached the top and began advancing, low to the ground as to not be so out in the open.

"Psst, Tengu 1 o'lock" Hydro whispers ,informing his allies.

Smoke and Y/N looked in the given direction, they saw  three tengu guarding an open gate,  two above on each said and one walking back and forth at the front.

"You guys get the two at the top, i got the one up front." Y/n said directing his teammates.

They nodded and sprung into action.

Smoke teleported and appeared behind his guy, covering the poor soldiers mouth and jabbing his  karambit into the gaurds neck.

Hydro performed a super jump landing right in front  of the Guard, and before  he could react, two swords made of water sliced through his neck and torso.

"That never gets old." Hydro smirked under his mask, watching the guy fall to the ground in three pieces.

Y/n then sprinted to the guy, aiming to get the guy before he could react in time.

"Ah, intr-SCHLUK" The Tengu didn't get to finish as Y/n jabbed an Ice dagger through his neck.

Y/n then threw the body  off to the side so he wouldn't be discovered

The Warriors regrouped and proceeded further into the fortress.

Y/n then noticed some activity up ahead and motioned his teammates to follow him behind a statue.

"Look over there." Y/n said.

Several feet away from them, the tengu were listing to  an armored figure.

"Hotaru" Smoke spoke concerned

" The Leader of the Tengu" Hydro said

"But who's the tough guy standing near him?" Hydro asked curiously

"Wu Lae, his second in command." Y/n said looking at the armored warrior.

"Commanding Officers in the same place? I say we take them out, who's the say we will get another chance like this?" Hydro said wishing end the tengu here and now

"Id agree if it weren't for the fact most of the army is present, besides it's not what we came for." Y/n said pushing aside the idea.

Hydro just groaned and y/n placed a hand on his shoulder.

" You will get your chance to fight, right now let's just stick to the mission, Smoke stand guard so our escape route is clear, me and hydro will head in and see what useful intel we can find." Y/n said giving new orders.

Smoke nodded and teleported away, y/n and hydro then snuck off avoiding detection of the guards.

Soon they entered a dark tunnel, remaining alert for any incoming danger.

Soon they arrived in area with gold, alot of gold.

"Wow, didn't think id see this much gold in my life time" Hydro admiring all the money lying around.

"Indeed, but where did they acquire so much? And to what end?.." Y/n wondered, concerned over what the tengu may be planning.

Y/n and Hydro then heard footsteps approaching, they found a dark corner and masked their presence, waiting for company to arrive.

Soon Hotaru and Wu Lae emerged from the doorway, y/n and hydro listened intently.

"My Lord, everything is going well, we are ahead of schedule." Wu lae spook.

"Good, months of planning are finally coming to fruition." Hotaru said with a smirk.

" will the gold be enough sir?" Wu lae said looking over their wealth.

" It is More than enough, our future business parters will be very pleased, as well as our new partner when he arrives." Hotaru said confidently.

"New Partner? They've been making moves in silence" Hydro whispered, surprised at the new info

" Yes, and we can only guess what they've been doing.... Hey hydro" y/n asked

"Whats up?" Hydro asked"

"I think now it is the time to kill two birds with one stone." Y/n said seeing that the two commanders were alone, no soldiers in sight.

"Now you're talking" Hydro said excitedly, itching to fight.

They emerged from the shadows and ambushed the leaders of the Tengu.

" Intruders! Ngh!" Wu lae said as he blocked flying kick from hydro

Y/n then began engaged with Hotaru, hotaru blocked a few punches grab y/n and throwing him a distance away, to which y/n landed firmly on his feet

" Ah Tundra, the lesser ice brother, you know we dont have to fight, i have much to offer." Hotaru said hopping to bargain with the younger warrior

"Your Surrender or your death, i wish for nothing else." Y/n said fiercely as he created a spear and pointed it at Hotaru

"Hmph, Yhaah!" Hotaru growled out As his hands glowed and he blasted fire from his hands, y/n batted the fire ball away, it would take more than that to melt his ice.

Y/n jabed his spear a few times before twirling and landing a blow to hotarus leg

"Ngh!." Hotaru grunted in pain

Hotaru then began closing the distance throwing punches and kicks that forced y/n to back up and block, then hotaru ignited hand and went for a karate chop and this time, he sliced clean through the spear.

Y/n then jabbed the sharp end of the spear into Hotaru shoulder then kicked him away

Nearby Hydro and Wa Lae were also locked in combat, the tengu using his spear masterfully to keep the lin kuei at a distance.

" Your head will be my trophy!" Wu Lae yelled jump and going for a downward attack

" Thats a preety gross trophy you weirdo!"Hydro said as he rolled away from the attack.

"Grrrr... Joke all you want, You will not leave this fortress alive." Wu Law growled gripping his scythe

"Thats my line..."Hydro said with a smiled under his mask.

Water began coating his swords then hydro performed a slash that extended the water and cut off Wu Laes right arm.

"ARGH!" Wu lae grunted in pain, as he lost his right arm.

Hydor kept doing this, soon wen Wu laes left, then his leg and then the other one.

"AGHHHHHHH!" Wu lae screamed at the terrible pain he was experiencing.

Hydro then locked his blades into a cross shaped and then he performed one final attack.

"YAAAH!" Hydro shouted as he unleashed his final slash.

The water sliced through Wu Laes neck and soon his head fell, a clean decapitation.

"Flawless Victory." Hydro said admiring his handy work.

Y/n was finishing his own battle, y/ns hands were coated in ice ,throwing punches and Hotaru was on the defensive , soon Y/n found his opening and landed a clean shot.

Hotaru dropped like a rock, his brain rattled unable to get back up.

Y/n placed his foot on the downed mans chest and proceeded to create a battle axe.

Y/n went to swing but an arrow from a cross bow bolt landed against his axe, stopping the strike.

Then tengu soldiers began pouring out.

Y/n froze shot a few ice blasts, freezing sma few in their place,

Hydro jumped in and began slicing many of them to ribbons, they were fighting well but the tengu just kept coming , soon the soldiers formations got the better of them.

Hydro got knocked to the ground by a war hammer and several spears locked his neck immobilizing him.

Y/n beheaded one and jabbed a dagger in the skull of another a soldier with a shield knocked him clean across the chin, sending him to the ground , getting restrained as well.

Hotaru soon got back to his feet and motioned for guards to cuff the down soldiers

Y/n and hydro got the wrists cuffed and now their were kneeling with blades at their necks

" hm...wu lae was a good soldier..but no matter, my losses can be replaced.. bring them, he should be here any minute." Hotaru said ordering the guards.

Y/n and Hydro stood at their feats, each of them wondering just who he was talking about and how they were going to get out of this.

"I got careless...we should've just waited for them to leave, i need to find an opportunity to escape, this will not be where we die." Y/n thought, concerned over the circumstances he just put himself and hydro in.

They walked for sometime until finally they stopped then Hotaru began to speak.

"I was wondering when the lin kuei would finally arrive, but i didn't think they would only send two of you." Hotaru spoke , finding the situation amusing.

"Tomas hasn't been discovered yet, Good"  Y/N thought, glad he had not been captured.

"Tundra, Hydro, word of your skill is well known in Tengu, we've been enemies for a long time but we don't have to be, it would be much better to join forces no?" Hotaru suggested.

" When Hell freezes over" Y/n denied, irritated that the man thought he would even consider the offer.

"What he said!." Hydro agreeing, he didn't want to work with these assholes.

"Oh it's unfortunate you feel that way, especially when it's inevitable." Hotaru said with a smirk.

Hydro and Y/n and looked visibly confused, just what did he mean by that.

Soon their heard footsteps coming in from another passage, and when the figure was finally in view,
It was the last person y/n or hydro expected.

"What the..?" Hydro asked confused, why would he be here?

Y/n just stared

It Was Bi-Han

"Brother...What are you doing here?" Y/n spoke, why would his brother be here, he would have said if he was coming along.

" Handling Business." Bi-Han spoke, his mask making voice sound even rougher.

Y/n didn't understand.

"You See tundra, the tengu and lin kuei are now in an alliance." Hotaru said with a smile underneath his mask.

Hydro and Y/n couldn't believe it, that couldn't be true.

" What the hell..?" Hydro said, wishing he had hearing problems.

"Brother...say it isn't so..." Y/n asked, wishing for all of this to be an elaborate trick.

" It is tundra." Bi-Han spoke firmly.

Y/n eyes widened, he couldn't believe it, His Brother, forming an alliance with one of their sworn enemies.

"No..." Y/n said, still unable to believe it.

"Bullshit!, Why would you send us in then?!." Hydro yelled, not liking this situation anymore then y/n

Bi-Han glared at Hydro,

" Mind your tongue Hydro, this was a  test for the tengu, i wanted to see how effective they would be against you, we need good soldiers for our future endeavors."  Bi-Han spoke  with his arms crossed.

"Id say it worked out well, though wu lae was an unfortunate casualty, but like i said losses can be replaced." Hotaru spoke, enjoying every bit of this.

Y/n was beginning to boil with rage.

" The Damage they have done....The Comrades we had to bury because of them..." Y/n said lowly.

"Not important, What matters what we have to gain." Bi-Han spoke not in the mood for his brothers complaint's

"Gain..?GAIN..?!." Y/n growled in his head, He couldn't believe what he was hearinng.

Y/n stood up but was held back by tengu guards

" YOU DAMN FOOL! YOU SPIT ON EVERYTHING OUR FATHER INSTILLED IN  US!" Y/n shouted furiously, wishing for nothing more than to Bash Bi-Hans Head in.

It was Bi-Han turn to flare up in anger.

"FATHER WAS THE FOOL!, He did us a favor by falling ill! " Bi-han yelled at brother, having heard enough.

Bi-Han then walked up to y/n and firmly jabbed his finger to his chest

" And I was right to let him die..." Bi-Han growled.

Y/n and Hydro froze..

If someone were to drop a pin in the room, they would all hear it.

"Let him die...?" Hydro asked in shock.

Thoughts were running through Y/ns head, It couldn't be, Bi-Han had tried getting medicine to his father but had been too late, or so he thought.

"You tried to save him...YOU SAID YOU TRIED TO SAVE HIM?!." Y/n Shouted, Not wanting to believe this to be true.

BI-Han grabbed y/n by the collar and held him up to his face.

"BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T AND STILL CAN'T FACE THE TRUTH!" Bi-Han shouted shoving his brother back, the guards still keeping him up

"Father doomed the clan to mediocrity...holding us back from our true potential and for what, protecting vermin..."  Bi-Han Growled, angry at the thought of his father.

Bi-Han then looked at hydro and Y/n who were still in shock.

"No longer...With the Lin Kuei under my rule , i will do everything father refused to do...we will achieve greatness..." Bi-Han said with conviction, clenching his fist.

Hydro Hadn't spoken, he knew Bi-Han was a piece of work but never would have thought he would stoop this low, Hydro looked over to y/n, he looked out of it.

Y/n mind was wondering, him and his brother were always at odds, growing up, they competed,  they fought, they argued, but y/n just thought it was just a case of troubled siblings.

But Y/n knew the darkness Bi-Han held, he refused to acknowledge Tomas as one of their own, He argued with father constantly,  and he lacked empathy for anyone outside of the clan, even those with clan it seemed.

But in-spite of all that, he believed Bi-Han to be capable of good, somewhere in that dark pit he called a soul, but to here this, to know realize just how far his brother had fallen.

To learn that he was the reason Father was no longer with them.....

The Temperature in the room began to drop, Y/n felt his power coursing through his veins at an alarming rate.

The Guards were beginning to see their breath, despite the room being warm mere moments again.

Hydro knew where it was coming from dove to the ground.

Then it happened.

Y/ns eyes flared blue

"RAAAAAAGH!!!" Y/N Shouted, breaking his cuffs and outstretching his arms.

Y/n projected a massive wave of frost from his body that froze over the surrounding guards.

Bi-Han was unaffected by the cold  but the wave pushed him back several feet away.

Hotaru tried to use fire magic to deal with it but he underestimating the power of the attack , he was knocked to the ground, though he wasn't frozen to the bone like his gaurds , the frost had greatly affected him, restricting his movements.

"Nghhh..." Hotaru groaned in pain trying to move to no avail.

Y/n looked to Bi-Han, who was getting back to his feet, y/n didn't was time, he rushed him and delivered a powerful kick to his chest sending him flying to a wall.

"Agh!" Bi-Han grunted as he landed on the floor in pain.

Y/n couldn't continue as he saw reinforcements pouring in, creating two broad swords, he began cutting down the guards one by one.

Hydro got back to his feet and used water to cut open his cuffs, freeing his hands he noticed y/n going to work but noticed more and more guards pouring in, they would be back to square one at this rate,  he couldn't have that.

"Y/N GET DOWN!" Hydro warned Y/n.

Y/n was still enraged but heeded his friend's warning.

Suddenly the room began to shake a bit and water emerged from cracks in the floor.

Hydro was unleashing his power.

Hydro used harsh  waves of water to crush the opposition.

"Get out of here Y/n i got this!" Hydro yelled  using waves to kill the reinforcements that continued pouring in.

"No!" Y/N yelled not wishing to retreat, not now.

"Tomas is waiting, this will all be for nothing if we all die here, Just go il catch up!" hydro yelled as he sliced several guards bunched together.

Y/n was conflicted, he didn't want to leave his ally behind, but he relented.

"We Will Wait  For You!" Y/N yelled, he would not leave hydro alone.

"It Would be rude if you didn't now go, i got these assholes!" Hydro yelled with a smirk.

Without another word spared, Y/n booked it to the exit, leaving his ally behind.

Several guards tried to stop home along the way, but they were no match.

Making his way out side, he finally found Tomas who was still guarding the entrance, he looked understandably confused

" What Happened? Wheres Hydro?" Tomas asked concerned.

"He stayed behind, fighting to aid our escape, Bi-han is here and he's betrayed us, Lets go, i will explain on the way!" Y/n motioned for tomas to follow.

Y/n began breaking down everything for tomas, what bi-han did, why they were sent there, the truth of father's demise, all of it."

"I can't believe it..Letting father die...forsaking the clans mission? He's abandoned all reason!" Tomas said shocked by everything he has been told.

" I knew bi-hans frustrations ran deep, but I never thought they could inspire such madness. We can't let his corruption continue to spread" Y/n spoke grimly.

Tomas then stopped walking and spoke.

"Whatever it takes, i am with you." Tomas said assuring y/n he had his support.

Y/n stopped and looked at Tomas, even now he had his back.

"Thank you..we may not share blood Tomas..." Y/n said.

Y/n the held tomas shoulder and looked him in the eye.

"But we are brothers." Y/n spoke.

Tomas eyes widened, he knew that was always the case but to hear it from y/n, he didn't know how much those words meant to him.

Unfortunately the moment came to end and as an ice blast was shot forcing the two to jump back before it could hit either of them.

There was Bi-Han, a little roughed up but otherwise completely fine.

"Hydro..." Y/n thought concerned, worried that Bi-Hans presence here meant that Hydro was taken down..or worse.

"Do your oaths mean nothing?! It's your duty to obey my will!." Bi-Han yelled out in anger.

"Not When It tramples over our principles, we won't sacrifice them to serve your ambition!" Y/n yelled having had enough.

Bi-Han glared at y/n in anger, and then he created a large ice knife, he then advanced towards y/n.

Bi-Han attacked ferociously, forcing y/n on the defensive.

y/n grabbed bi-hans arm after an overshot strike and attempted to disarm him but failed to do so, y/n spin kicked Bi-Han in his midsection putting distance between them.

Bi-Han once again attacked,  y/n this time created his on knife to even the odds,  then their bladed locked, bi-han then pushed y/n away and threw his knife, which y/n dodged but before y/n could focus on bi-han again, he was blinded-sided by another blade bi-han had created in his other hand.

The blade cut open his mask, had landing over the upper right side of his face.

"Ngh!!" Y/n kneeled in pain hold his face.

"Y/n!" Tomas yelled worried about the injury his brother just took.

"Stay Back! This is my fight." Y/n halting his brother from advancing, thankfully his eye was still in tact, but he knew the injury would scar over despite his enhanced healing.

"End This Brother! Embrace the future"  Bi-Han Yelled, giving y/n one more chance to surrender.

"I want no part of it! You Pervert all that it means to be lin kuei! Y/n yelled getting back into his stance.

"Then Die a Traitor as Hydro did!" Bi-Han yelled.

"No..." Tomas said in shock

"Yaaah!" y/n attacked in anger.

Y/n and Bi-Han began trading blows,  Bi-Han had the edge in strength but y/n was always the faster one.
Y/n tried capitalizing on that landing strikes and evading, the intention was to wear Bi-Han down  and take him out with a well placed strike.

Bi-Han however was ferocious, there was a reason he was the most feared in the clan,  landed two strikes to y/ns face before performing seoi-nage throwing y/n to the floor.

Y/n evaded a stomp to his head, bi-hans foot cracking the ground.

Y/n performed a capoeira spin kick that landed square on bi-hans jaw,  y/n then created an ice gauntlet and  with the intention of knocking him out.

Bi-Han recovered quickly however, and caught y/n by the forearm, Bi-Han then head-butted y/n, kneed him in his midsection, then with a clenched fist struck his back, forcing y/n back on the ground.

Bi-Han then went for another stab with an ice knife and fearing the worst Tomas jumped in.

"NO!" Tomas yelled as he drop kicked bi-han away.

"Ngh!" Bi-han grunted at the blow but he remained on his feet .

Tomas grabbed his karambit then teleported away, he then landed a slash to bi-hans back, then teleported and spin kicked him, then slashed his arm, not giving Bi-Han a chance to retaliate.

Unfortunately bi-Han sensed his next attack and caught him by Tomas neck, making him gasp in pain.

"Insolent wretch." Bi-Han growled.

Y/n was still dazed from the blows and caught a glimpse of Bi-Han  landing blows on Tomas.

"Get up..." Y/n growled to himself trying to recover faster, Bi-Han would kill tomas if he didn't.

"Agh!" Tomas landed on the ground in pain.

Bi-Han then placed his foot on his neck, keeping him rooted in place , tomas tried to push him off but to know avail

Bi-Han then created a battle Axe and looked Tomas in the eye.

"Time To Reunite with your fallen parents." Bi-Han growled, looking Tomas in the eye.

Y/n was horrified by what he heard, and used his ice to blast himself back to his feet

Bi-Han lifted his axe to slice tomas in half.

Tomas Eyes shut and prepared for the worst, this would be where he met his end.

Then....

"Sshluck!"

.....

Tomas didn't feel the attack

"Im...Fine?" Tomas thought confused

Tomas opened his eyes to a gruesome sight.

Bi-Hans axe still in the air

A broad Ice Sword coated in blood,  going through his chest.

Y/n was behind him, holding the sword in anger.

Bi-Han puked out blood and Y/n yanked the sword out, the force bringing Bi-Han to the ground.

Y/n then offered a hand to Tomas,

Though still in shock Tomas took it no questions asked.

They then stared at the dying Bi-Han glaring at them in anger but unable to get up.

"Father...Should have left you.... in that damn forest." Bi-Han groaned out to Tomas, the pain clear in his voice.

"And you....Should have never...Been born- COUGH!!!" Bi-han said as he coughed out another chunk of blood.

Y/n and Tomas spared him no words, they just continued to watch their bitter brother, say his last words.

"You are..Both...A disgrace...to the Lin-Kuei..." Bi-Han said, with no remorse.

Y/n then looked at the lin-kuei medallion that was on his chest, this symbol that he had fought for years, pouring blood sweat in tears for the cause he believed in...y/n then decided to do something he didn't think he would ever do.

Y/n removed the medallion and looked at Bi-Han.

"I am lin kuei..no longer." Y/n said firmly.

Tomas and Bi-Hans eyes widened, they couldn't believe what they

"CRUSH!!!" The medallion was frozen and shattered into pieces.

Bi-Han wanted to say more, to scorn y/n and damn him, but he couldn't, the blood loss finally took its toll.

Bi-Hans head fell back, his body going limp, his eyes loosing focus.

Bi-Han, Sub-Zero....was dead.

"Hes gone..." Tomas said, coming to terms with it.

"And i wish it hadn't come to that..." Y/n said taking no pleasure in ending his brother's life.

"Tomas  then looked to y/n extended his arm.

"Thank you...for saving me." Tomas said gratefully.

Y/n looked at tomas and nodded and gripped his brother's forearm.

Then y/n brought him in for a hug, Tomas was surprise by the action.

"Of course brother.." Y/n said hugging his younger brother

Tomas was surprised but grew a smile under his mask, hugging his brother back

They soon broke the hug, Tomas wished to address the situation.

"Aren't you being too hasty? when we expose what  Bi-Han has done won't you be grandmaster?"  Tomas asked believing quitting the clan was excessive.

"You forget Cyrax and Sektor, their loyalty to Bi-Han is absolute, they would sooner abate his corruption then follow me, the same goes for all the others who supported his transition to grandmaster." Y/n said addressing the loyalty issue within the clan.

Y/n then looked at Bi-Hans Corpse.

"Then theres the lack of proof, we bring Bi-Hans Body back and who would believe us? They must not be aware of his absence and who's to say how many know of his business with the Tengu and didn't say a word? things are not in our favor Tomas." Y/n said with his arm crossed shaking his head in frustration.

" You are right..." Tomas said concerned, this situation was not favorable by any means.

Then Tomas got an idea.

"What if.... What if we leave?...China i mean." Tomas asked Y/n.

Y/n raised an eyebrow at that , it wasn't the worst idea, it's just one that hadn't crossed his mind.

"Well..We can't go back to the clan...and they would surely search all over china for us...but where would even go? And how?" Y/n asked wishing to know more before going forward with the idea.

"We cant take a flight, the passports we use for overseas missions are at back at the temple...but there is a ferry at the hong kong pier that is delivering goods to america, we could sneak our way onto the boat."  Tomas suggested,

Y/n then began thinking, it was certainly risky, and they would need to remove their garb  and find new clothes to blend in.

"Well Tomas, i can't think of any other option, lets go with your plan, do you still have the emergency scroll?" Y/n asked, referring to a magic scroll that would take them anywhere should they be in desperate need of escape, it wasn't always used but it had come in handy more than once.

" Yeah! I Never Go on a mission without it." Tomas nodded pulling out the scroll from his back pocket, but then he considered something.

"What do we do with him?." Tomas thought looking at Bi-Hans body.

Y/n just shook his head.

" We leave him." Y/n said with no remorse, the vultures could take his brother for all he cared now.

Tomas nodded and began opening the scroll.

"Ok, where should we land?" Tomas asked, they needed to give the scroll an exact location.

"Hmm...The Hong  Kong Sewer system." Y/n said

" The Sewers? Ugh are you sure?" Tomas said not eager to there, the stench was horrible, it even went through his mask!

" I know it's disgusting , but we can't appear out in the open, this way we have time to sneak through the city, grab some clothes and a backpack or two and we can be on our way." Y/n said breaking down why he chose such a place.

"Sigh...i hate that you're right, Very well." Tomas said unenthusiastically.

Tomas then looked at the scrolls and closed his eyes in concentration, projecting his thoughts to the scrolls.

Soon the scroll faded and a second later a blue portal manifested, right in the middle of the dark sewers.

Tomas then looked towards the building of Ying Fortress.

"You alright?" Y/n asked noting the concern over Tomas's face.

" I just...wish Jun Ho had made it out..." Tomas spoke sorrowfully, saddened by the loss of their fallen comrade.

Y/n closed his eyes in mourning him, if he knew Jun Hoe, he was fearless in death as he was in life.

"I know, he gave himself for us, We will mourn him later, now we must survive, his sacrifice must not be in vain." Y/n said firmly.

"Hm.. right." Tomas said, keeping his composure.

"Now let's go, Im tired of this wretched place." Y/n said , walking through the portal and Tomas following close by.

And soon the portal closed.

A Few Days Later

Hong Kong. Midnight

Y/n and Tomas had remained low, when they got to hong kong they had gathered some more causal clothes and a few back packs, even finding some food to eat along the way, they remained in the shadows to not bring attention to themselves.

Finally the day came, The OOCL BUSAN container ship departed to the U.S today, and Y/n and Tomas were now headed to the pier.

"The time has come, are you sure that Los Angeles is the best place to be?." Y/n asked as they walked to pier, L.A is where the ship was stopping , he was honestly thinking New York or Chicago.

"Yeah, Given our backgrounds and our mastery of Mandarin and Cantonese we would have many opportunities for work, and i don't know about you but i want to get away from the cold." Tomas said, he became accustomed to the winter mountains for so long he welcomed the change of climate.

"Eh me and the cold get along well, but i see your point, let's just not give away the fact we are living there illegally." Y/n said, the last thing they needed was the U.S government on their tail.

"Don't worry, you say that like we are gonna shout we are illegal ci-." Tomas slowed to a halt, unable to finish his quip.

"Whats wrong?" Y/n said noticing that his brother stopped suddenly.

Tomas said nothing and appeared tense and un-sheathed his karambit from his hip.

Y/n followed his gaze and his eyes widened, now understanding why Tomas was getting ready for a fight.

Just a few feet away, Sitting Monk Style on a crate, sword at his hip, Was Cyrax.

Cyrax opened his eyes and looked at the two former Lin-Kuei.

" Greetings Gentlemen" Cyrax said simply,

"Cyrax." Y/n said, Ice slowing coating his right hand.

"How did you find us?." Tomas asked, still keeping a good grip on his karambit.

Cyrax remained seated, and began to explain.

"Most of the clan has been deployed, right now they are searching every corner of china to capture you dead or alive, Sektor is currently deep in the city, I decided to take a chance on the pier, I see it payed off." Cyrax explains.

"So you know?" Y/n said, he knew the answer was obvious but he wanted to know how cyrax felt about this.

"Me and Sektor took notice of Grandmasters absence, you two and hydro had taken too long to return so we grabbed some soldiers and headed for Ying Fortress... and to our shock we found Hydro dead among dozens of Tengu soldiers...and The Grandmasters corpse in the snow." Cyrax said, distastefully.

"The situation is not what it seems." Y/n said simply

"Hm." Cyrax grunted

Cyrax then jumped off the crate, y/n and Tomas remaining on Guard.

"So you say.., I would normally not waste time with talk in a situation like this... but i know you two well, you wouldn't do something like this out of malice....that is why i give you the chance to explain yourself, so that i may decide the best course of action." Cyrax said firmly his hand gripping the hilt of his sword.

With those words being spoken Y/n was glad Sektor hadn't thought to come here.

Tomas looked at y/n wondering if they should.

Y/n nodded.

" as you know we went on the mission, we snuck in, i was guarding our escape route while y/n and hydro went inside." Tomas told his side, looking to y/n to fill in the blanks.

"Me and hydro were looking for plans as we were ordered, Hotaru and his right hand Wu Lae entered the room, believing that we could take them at that moment me and Hydro attacked." Y/n began explaining.

Cyrax said nothing, merely listening intently and motioning for y/n to continue.

"Hydro cut down Wu Lae but before i could kill Hotaru then and there, we got swarmed by their soldiers, they had us shackled, Hotaru said we should work for him to which we of course denied, but it was no offer, it was fact....Bi Han entered the room confirming what Hotaru said moments later." Y/n said grimly.

Cyrax looked visibly suprised but still listened.

" The Mission was a lie , Bi-Han only sent us there to see how effective the tengu would be against us, they were forming an alliance, then....Bi-han told me he had let father die...." Y/n growled out.

Tomas closed his eyes, hearing that still hurt.

Cyrax eyes widened, bi-Han could have saved their former lord?

" I broke out, Hydro did as well , we fought the soldiers and hyrdo covered my escape, i met up with Tomas explaining the situation, Bi-Han offered us a chance give up and accept the future of the lin-kuei i refused and we engaged in combat, and that is why i carry this scar." Y/n said pointing at his face.

"I jumped in when Bi-Han was about to land a killing blow, i stood little chance, he aimed to execute me.... Y/n didn't let it happen....and well , you saw the result ." Tomas said looking.

Cyrax absorbed everything...and sighed.

" You say all this....why not head back to the clan and explain your selves?" Cyrax asked needing to know why they would cut ties and run off.

"Cyrax, I killed the grandmaster and the only proof we had was word of mouth, can you honestly say many would have believed us innocent?" Y/n asked, they had little choice in the matter.

Cyrax looked visibly frustrated, whether it was because he couldn't believe the two or because of the grandmaster, y/n couldn't tell

" and you really believe killing him was the best course of action?" Cyrax asked looking directly at y/n

"No...but Tomas's life was on the line and i had to act, I take no pleasure in it, but after everything he did, I don't regret it." Y/n spoke honestly

Cyrax continued looking at y/n, then at Tomas, the tension in the air thick.

"These are...unfortunate circumstances...you killed the grandmaster...My honor dictates i bring you in to serve justice..." Cyrax spoke gripping the hilt of his sword.

Tomas got into his stance and Y/n created an ice dagger in a reverse-grip.

Then something unexpected happened.

Cyrax let go of his sword

" But i wont." Cyrax said simply.

This shocked the young warriors.

"What?" Tomas asked confused by the sudden change of heart.

"This is an unfortunate situation and while i should take you in as is my duty, part of that is also to protect the family. I would be dishonoring your late mother and father if i went against that." Cyrax spoke remorsefully.

Y/n was shocked

"He's going against his duty for us..." Y/n thought at a loss for words.

Cyrax then began pulling something out of his pocket

"Here" Cyrax said as he threw something to each of them, which they caught respectively.

Y/n saw that it was the American passports they had left behind.

" Living in the U.S would be difficult without those." Cyrax explained

"Cyrax... Thank you" Tomas said gratefully, he was glad they didn't have to fight.

"Yes, we owe you for this." Y/n said accepting the help, knowing the risk cyrax was taking doing this.

Cyrax shook his head.

"No, no debts, you may never be able to return to china, let alone home, this is the least i could do, I can't promise the lin-kuei won't  continue to hunt you down but I believe you two can manage just fine." Cyrax said confident the two could survive on their own.

Cyrax then placed his hands together and bowed.

"Take Care young masters." Cyrax spoke with respect.

Y/n and Tomas returned the same courtesy

" Now you best hurry, the Ship is ready to leave." Cyrax said motioning them to go.

"HOOOOOOOOOOONK!!!!." The Container Ship boomed.

Y/N and Tomas looked at each other and began sprint their way to the boat.

They then entered a good distance and hit a super jump towards the boat, knowing they wouldn't make it Tomas grabbed y/ns arm and teleported them the rest of the way on to the back of the ship.

"Nice one." Y/n smirked patting Tomas on the back.

"Hehe." Tomas chuckled scratching his hair.

The two then looked off to where cyrax was standing, he gave them one final nod before disappearing into the night.

"Well...we did it." Tomas spoke leaning over the railing of the boat as it started moving away from the pier.

"Yeah...feels strange.. this is the last time we will ever be here..." Y/n spoke somberly.

"Yeah...but hey we're alive, thats whats most important, and we still got each other right ?" Thomas said optimistically, offering him a fist bump.

Y/n looked at the fist and chuckled, Tomas could always see the bright side in a situation.

"Yeah." Y/n said with a smirk, fist bumping him back.

"Sigh....I wonder what the future holds for us brother." Y/n said leaning against the railing and looking at the night sky.

"Who can really say? but i know we will be ready for it, Hey, maybe we can be crimefighters like the avengers?." Tomas suggested with a smile.

That brought a laugh to Y/n

"Hahaha, now you're just being silly." Y/n said with a smile.

"Aw cmon it would be exciting! we got the uniform part down." Tomas continued,liking the idea.

And The Two Brothers continued their conversation as they ship carried them to their new home, little did they know there was much in store for them.

Man I didn't plan on writing this much, but i really wanted to wrap up the lin kuei story line.

Now I can cover Jennifers Origins :)
