Saturdays aren't so bad |Romanogers|

Yeah yeah, this story is going to have a messed up timeline, but just to make it cute I am doing it.

Saturday night aka the worst night of the week for young Steve Rogers. You see, Saturdays were reserved for double dates with his, way too charming and ladies man James 'Bucky' Barnes.

Every week Bucky somehow managed to find a new date and would invite Steve saying her friend was so interested in meeting him. A lie of course. They were more interested in Bucky. To be honest he wasn't sure why he didn't have a reputation by now about all his dates ended in total failures.

Steve wasn't what you would call a ladies man, they weren't going out of their way to talk to him, even if he stood right in front of them. Now Bucky, on the other hand, women wanted him, men wanted to be him, well some wanted him too. Steve wasn't sure how he did it.

But being his best friends meant he got to come along on the double date and hold the girl's purses. And that's why Saturdays are the worst days for Steve.

Today was the same as any other Saturdays. That morning Bucky explained to Steve that he met a girl, Wanda, at the diner and had only agreed to a date if he could bring a date for her best friend, Natasha. Neither knew a thing about Natasha but Bucky claimed Steve would have a great time.

No matter how much he didn't want to go, Steve dressed in his nicest clothes and followed Bucky to their friend, Tony Stark's father's Stark Expo,' to begin their date.

When Steve saw Bucky's date, he was no longer surprised why Bucky wouldn't stop talking about her, he was surprised as to why she seemed so happy to go out with Bucky. When he told Bucky that he hit him in the arm.

He didn't stop laughing until Steve saw who his date was. His mouth was slowly opened as she approached him with a smile on her face. She had clear pale skin and deep red hair that was in loose curls. She was dressed in black, and look absolutely beautiful. Not to mention she was 5'3 ish compared to his 5'7, which wasn't even that short. Although she was wearing two-inch heels.

Steve was disappointed, he knew a woman like her would never want to see him again after tonight, she was probably forced on this date by her friend or at least expecting someone...better. So he sighed before looking at Natasha, who was looking at him expectedly.

"I'm sorry..." he said scratching his neck. "Can you repeat that."

"Are you always this nervous when you go on dates?" She asked raising an eyebrow. Before Steve even had a chance to open his mouth Bucky came in throwing an arm around the girl.

"Sorry about my friend, Steve is a really special one," Steve was almost sure he would lose her the rest of the night, but before he could drown in sorrows, Natashpushed his arm away.

"Well," She put her hand out for Steve to shake, "It's nice to meet you, Steve, I am Natasha," Steve was a bit shocked and didn't move, but Bucky lightly bumped into his friend as he began to walk away with Wanda.

"It's nice to meet you too Natasha," Steve couldn't help but smile the rest of the night. He and Natasha managed to sneak away from Bucky and Wanda and ended up at some carnival down the street, where Natasha won Steve a teddy bear.

Steve never remembered laughing so hard his entire life, and so he knew he had to ask her out again. When she agreed he was over the moon excited and they made plans for Monday.

Dating for almost six months, Steve and Natasha were beyond happy with one another. Wanda and Bucky too were happier since they started officially dating, which was weird and new for Bucky. Until he was sent off to war but promised to make it back to her with a smile on his face to cheer Wanda up. Everyone was proud of Bucky's couraged and tried to be happy.

Today, however, was not a happy day when Steve came over to Natasha's house to talk to her.
"They said I can help serve the country," He muttered into her head as they embraced. "I can help protect you,"

"You know I don't need protection," She muttered in return.

"I know that," He said. "I was there when you punched a guy almost unconscious last week remember," He said with a soft smile. "I would just feel better knowing that I can do something, or be someone you really deserve,"

"I deserve you," she said putting her hand on his face softly. "Steve do you really want to this?"

"I do." He said. "Think about all the things I could do for the country... for you."

"But what if it goes wrong? What will happen to you then?" She asked, and Steve heard the nervousness in her voice.

"I promise this experiment won't kill me," He said, "Even if it does, I'll always be around for you, and think of the positives I can finally be healthy. I can do all the things I could never do before-"

"Like go to our dance class," She smiled and so did Steve.

"Yes and go to the dance class," He said. "Figured I'd have no way out of it sooner or later." They were silently looking at one another before Natasha broke the silence.

"If you want to this do this, I will stay by your side and support you." She promised. "but if this works Steve, and you get all muscly I want you to know I'ven always loved you, since day one."

"I love you more."

"I don't think that's possible," She muttered close to his lips. "Don't let anyone else touch you when your away at war."

"No one can ever compare to you,"

"Better not," She smirked. "When can I see you?"

"I don't know," He said, "I hope right after the procedure, of course, I have a week of training before I they make their final decision. I want to see you before I get sent off to war."

And she was there. After she heard about the shooting the lab she rushed down to find him, to make sure he was safe. To say she was surprised when she saw him was an understatement. He looks...taller. If she was being honest, she missed her little man, there was something awfully cute about him, but at least he still had his big blue eyes and kind heart. Something just can't change, and she wouldn't want it any other way.

"You are very tall, I can barely wrap my arms around you." She said to her now, 6'2 boyfriend.

"Have you always been so small?" He teased which caused Natasha to hit him in the chest. "I have to do something about this Nat,"

"Steve, these people are dangerous. They were able to break into a top-secret location, I just don't want to see you hurt," She said, it almost was enough to break his heart into pieces. Why did she always have to be so caring?

"I promise I will make it back to you, and I can learn your ballet," he said.

"Do you promise?" she asked.

"I do." He smiled.

"Saved the 'I do' for another time lover boy," she smiled and then Peggy Carter came walking by, a blonde girl beside her.

"Captain Rogers we have to be heading out," she informed him. Steve sighed before remembering his manners.

"Agent Carter, this is my girlfriend Natasha, Natasha this is Agent Carter," Natasha smiled and held her hand up for the tall brunette.

"Nice to meet you, Agent Carter," She said with a smile which the woman gratefully returned.

"Please call me Peggy," She answered shaking Natasha's hand. "You too Steve, we will be working together, I'd rather not you be calling me Agent Carter, sounds so overbearing sometimes." And then she turned to her friend beside her. "This is Angie, she is my girlfriend,"

"Oh," Steve said. "I didn't know you were umm," Steve stuttered not knowing what to say. Natasha smiled at her clueless man.

"I guess the serum didn't help with your inability to speak?" Natasha laughed. "It's very nice to meet you, Angie," the redhead smiled.

"I'd hate to break up the party," Phillips said, "But it's time to go," Natasha turned to Steve with a sad smile, he tried to send her a reassuring one.

"I love you, Steve,"

"I love you more,"

"Not possible,"

"Yes possible, I love you 3000"

"I love you 3000 and infinity,"

"Come on lover boy," Peggy said with a laugh, "I promise to make sure he doesn't break into pieces," she said and Natasha smiled. Soon the two were ripped from one another's arms.

If Natasha left that day knowing she was being followed, maybe it would have prevented her situation too. Steve would leave her that day, not only in danger but with only a simple promise to come home. It, however, wouldn't happen. Not in this life.

He felt cold. There was no other way to describe how he was feeling. It was just cold. He has felt that way for a while now, almost like his heart yearned its familiar warmth.

Steve felt lost. He lost everything, just when he had gotten everything too. Bucky. He wondered if he was ever found and if he survived. If he did, did he find Wanda and did they get married?

Then there was his fiery redhead. Natasha. The love of his life. The only one to love him before he became Captain America. He wondered what happened to her after the war. Did she become a dancer? Did she move on? How long did she mourn? Did she marry another?

The thought alone made Steve sick to his stomach. Call him selfish but he didn't want her to marry someone else. He loved her, and she loved him even before the serum and that's why he wanted her. Some people would say if you love them let them go, but he didn't want to let her go. Even if she didn't marry someone else she had to be over 80, he was sure she was still beautiful, but it just wouldn't be right. There was no way.

Steve had given up. Felt like he was meant to live a life alone. No one would tell him anything about anyone, nor did he ask. Mainly because he was scared of the outcome. So instead he tried to move away from being 'Captain America' and decided he would go to the gym to let off some steam.

Then it happened. Nick Fury came. Gave him the news that Hydra was still here, he risked everything for nothing. He never even got to say goodbye to Bucky or Natasha, and that was all for nothing. Now he was angry, and he was ready to take his revenge.

"I have two of my best agents coming to help you, and everyone else." Coulson smiled. He was nice, a bit weird, but nice.

"I am sure they are great," A smile then formed on Coulson's face.

"They don't know about you yet. They have been away undercover for almost 10 months." He told Steve, "No communication, full commitment, I am sure they will be shocked to hear you're alive." Steve wasn't sure why he was telling him this, but he chose to listen and not be rude to him.

Walking on the Helicarrier was overwhelming. Everything really had changed. Steve was stunned by it all and was trying his very best not to show it, but he couldn't help it.

"Agent Romanoff, Agent Barnes," Coulson spoke, and Steve swore his heart stopped. It couldn't be. What if they were just relatives? Steve couldn't bring himself to turn around.

"Heard you had a surprise for us Coulson," That voice. Steve knew it. He had heard all his life growing up, he couldn't breathe properly.

"Allow me to be the one's to tell you," He spoke. "We found Captain Rogers,"

"Steve?" A female asked, Steve's heart sped up at the sound of her voice and Steve finally had the courage to turn around. Standing before him was Bucky and Natasha. Alive. This had to be a dream.

Before he could even question it Bucky had his best friend in a hug. It felt just like old times. Neither could really believe that they were seeing their best friend again.

"How are you still alive?" They asked at the same time. The two let out a short chuckle.

"I was... kidnapped. But I am good now, it's kind of a long story, one for another day. Sheild treated me very well, wrapped me up and put a bow on my head," Bucky noticed that Natasha had yet to move, and even if he didn't want to, he excused himself.

"Natasha?" Steve said walking close to her. Natasha held up her hand to stop him.

"You were dead. I read about your death!" She cried out. "I was so-" Her breath started to increase. "How are you here? I thought I lost you,"

"I don't know, maybe the serum-" Natasha jumped in his arms wrapping her arms around his next and legs around his waist. She was crying and his shoulder started to feel damp. Steve could help but hold her tighter than before.

"I was so lonely." She muttered.

"How are you still... young?" he asked carefully, and he could feel her become a bit tense. Then her tears started to fall again. "Hey it's okay I'm right here Nat," He said in a soft whisper.

"They made me into a monster Steve," She let out, Steve's heart broke for her. "They made me do so many things... they did so many things to me," she was in pain and Steve felt angered. Not at her, but at the people who dared lay a finger on his girl.

"Who are they, Natasha?" He asked but he could tell she didn't want to say it. Not here at least.

"Bucky saved me." She let out. "and a friend of mine. you'll meet him. His name is Clint."

"Him?"

"He's just a friend," Steve felt her smile into his shoulder and he couldn't help but smile himself.

"well remind me to thank them." He said. "Was bucky a lot of trouble?" He asked her. Natasha slowly pulled away from him to look him in the eyes.

"Not as much when you two were together." She laughed. "Wanda had a handle on it," He wasn't even going to ask how she was still alive. It was all too much for one day.

Natasha didn't even notice Steve had walked them back into the Quinjet for some privacy. She was grateful he did though, Steve himself was happy to see her in some sort of piece. She never did like a crowd.

The two spent a few minutes just enjoying one another's company, neither could pull themselves away from one another. Steve was so happy she was alive, that she was perfectly okay. He couldn't have lived in this life for a very long time if Natasha wasn't with him.

"What are you doing Saturday Night?" Steve asked with a smile. Natasha couldn't help but think about the Saturday nights they enjoyed with one another. She couldn't help but smile when she remembered she would tease him for hating Saturdays before they started to date.

"I don't know, I was thinking about going dancing, however, I may need a partner. Do you know anyone?" He asked giving her a smile and he pulled her even closer if that was even possible at this point. She loved that he could hold her like this now, maybe the serum was good for something, although she still missed her original Steve, and if she had the choice, she wouldn't change him for the world. But she wouldn't complain. She'd rather have his pointy muscles then nothing at all.

"I might know someone," She said with a smirk.

"Is she any good at dancing?" He asked rubbing circles on the small of her back. "Because the person I am thinking of is the epitome of grace when it comes to dancing."

"Well, it really depends on her partner," Natasha answered.

"Well I haven't danced a day in my life, can she deal with that?" He asked.

"I suppose so. Maybe if you give her some sort of persuasion," She said and Steve immediately was leaning in. Their lips grazing over one another before the kiss started. When their lips met Steve was overjoyed, and finally, he found his warmth once again.

When he took a breath they were in Natasha's livingroom dancing in her built-in studio. Steve held on to her tightly as she showed him the moves. He never wanted to leave her side ever again.

He was happy. He was happy for Bucky and Wanda, he was happy Natasha no longer slept with nightmares that she told him about. Everything seemed right in the world, and Steve was warm. This was the life he wanted.

"You never danced before huh?" She teased.

"Well like you said it depends on the partner." She smirked at him before giving him a soft and gentle kiss on the lips. This was what heaven was made out of.

"So do you still hate Saturday Nights?" She asked, just like old times. Steve laughed before looking her in the eyes. Those green eyes will always be his weakness, and quiet frankly he was okay with that. He was willing to go through all the teasing in the world just to see them light up like that.

"you know, Saturdays might not be so bad after all"
