Regret |Romanogers|

Steve and Natasha were in their room, the only thing that could be heard was the screams from their argument. Natasha was six months pregnant and was on rest from work, but her husband of three years, Steve was not. Fury let him know that in a few days he could go on a mission, the only thing was it was highly dangerous.

And for Natasha, Steve was all too willing to take the mission. When he told her where he was going she was at a lost for words. She didn't know what to say. But the more their conversation grew from small short words into quick large screams.
"I thought we talked about this!"

"Natasha!" Steve yelled in frustration, he never really yelled at her but he didn't understand her hostility towards him. "Do you not trust me enough to go on this mission and come back?" He yelled with large hand jesters indicating he was upset.

"Is that what you think this is about?" She yelled right back at him. He face was red with anger. How could he think so low of her?

"Well is it not? Because from what I can see is that YOU don't trust!" He said and Natasha didn't have a thing to say to him. Her hormones were making her want to break down in tears. "You are just too stubborn to admit that you don't trust me! You never even loved me enough to be truthful enough!"

"Why are you being such an asshole!" She screamed at him, the tears in her eyes were threatening to fall out. She was mad and sad, her hormones were not allowing her to hide them, not this time. Steve was too full of anger to look at the pain he was causing her.

The argument was only because Natasha was afraid of him leaving her. Of him dying. But Steve saw it as her not trusting him. Not being able to take a step back from controlling every single thing he does in his life. He was even more upset when Natasha tried getting Fury to replace him on the mission without telling Steve.

"You know I should have listened to them. To all of them!" He said, his voice still laced with anger. "They warned me not to trust the black widow. But the sad thing is that I thought you were different. But it turns out they were true. You are heartless, you have no trust in people who care about you. You are exactly what they made you." And Natasha was broken.

"DO YOU WANT ME TO LEAVE? Say the words- Ill go!" She yelled, half hoping that he would see how his words wronged her. But he didn't back down.

"Do whatever the hell you want! I don't care!" He yelled at her. He had enough of this conversation and walked downstairs and grabbing the keys to his bike. He went out the door and slammed it right behind him.

Back upstairs, Natasha fell to the ground, her and her six-month pregnant belly. She cried for what felt like hours on that cold hard ground. Steve's voice and words laced her mind. He didn't care if she left. He wanted me to leave, that would make him happy, and all I have ever wanted was to make him happy.

She went to the closet and grabbed her clothes, stuffing it all into a bag. She grabbed another bag that was full of baby clothes and baby food. He didn't want her, he wouldn't want her kids. She packed all the evidence that she was ever in that house. She left. Just like he wanted her to.

Meanwhile, Steve was at the tower consuming his fair share in vodka. Tony sat beside him, they were both drinking. Tony just didn't know why. It wasn't like Steve could get drunk. He didn't know what happened.

"Steve? What's wrong?" Tony asked after having enough silence.

"I'm what's wrong..." He muttered raising the cup back up to his mouth. He was staring blankly at the wall.

"Does this have something to do with Red?" He asked. Usually Tony wasn't so kind, he was known for his jokes, however, it just wasn't the time for that, even Tony knew that.

"There's nothing I can do about it. If I am not hurting myself I am hurting people around me. There is nothing I can do about it." The moment Steve left he felt the pain of his words. He knew he hurt Natasha. He didn't want to but he did. now he has to live with those actions.

"Steve, I don't know what's going on. But I don't think that is true. I am sure this is all one big misunderstanding. I am sure you can go home and have a softer conversation with her so you can both understand your feelings. You can keep going." He said, Steve almost wanted to laugh.

"How do you keep going, when the worst thing has happened. What do you have to change inside to survive? Who do you have to become? Because there is nothing like the pain I made both me and her feelings that can make us survive this." He asked, still keeping his gaze away from Tony.

"Steve, the worst day of loving some would have to be the day you lose them. Don't let that day be today."

After much thoughts and may shots, Steve decided to go home. He has caused her so much pain, he just has to go back and show her how much he loves her. How much he can't live without her.

He walked into the house, it was quiet and something was off. The house that felt so much love and appreciation now felt empty and quiet. Too quiet for his liking.
"baby?" He asked and got no response from her. "listen, I am sorry. I know I yelled." He started climbing up the stairs to their bedroom, where he thought she would be. "I made a mistake. I disregarded your feelings. I said things I should have said but... but I love you, and I appreciate you." He opened the door to their room and stood there almost breathlessly. He looked from side to side in horror.

"Natasha?" He spoke softly, he then checks the bathroom. Empty. The baby's room. Empty. Backyard empty. Closets. Empty. Everything was empty, she left. She took her stuff and she left. Just like she said she would. She was gone, and she took his heart and his soul.

Natasha was at the park. She didn't know where to go or who to talk to. She was lost and it felt as if the world was spinning so fast that she would never be able to stop it from doing so. But that wouldn't stop the people who care about her to find her. Even if she didn't want them to.

"How did I know you would be here?" He asked in a low soft voice. It was almost making her smile but the pain was too much.

"Why are you here Clint?" She asked, pushing her hair behind her ear and rubbing the tears away. Clint saw her wall coming back up.

"Real question is why is my 6 months pregnant friend out here in the cold all alone?" He asked. There was silence as Clint stood behind her. "Steve is um looking for you." He said very cautiously.

"I don't care." She answered him, almost having to choke back the tears.

"I want you to care. To care about him and this conversation. "Clint said.

"He-"

"I know what he did Tasha but he regrets it. He really does." Clint said. Although Steve was on his kill list for hurting Natasha, he was the only one who could heal her.

"Why do I care?" She asked him, still not turning around to face the archer as he tried making his point.

"Because you're the one who always cared." He said. "You care about what he wants. Isn't that why you left. Because it was what he wanted?" He asked softly to his friend and received no answer. Instead, he felt her wrap her arms around him in a quick motion. Clint held her there not letting go as the spy cried. They didn't move, they stood there and hugged as she got it all out.
"Come on, let's get you back home."

Clint took her home. So Steve and she could talk it all out. But when Natasha closed the door to the house they picked from love all she felt was the words he let out lacing her ears. She just stood there as Steve cautiously made his way to the door.

He saw her drop the bags she was holding and stand there silently. Not looking at him. Steve and she stood there not speaking for almost 20 minutes before Steve muttered the words he needed to say to her all day.

"I'm sorry." He said.

"I needed you." She said honestly. Last time he spoke this time she would speak and he would listen to the things she had to say. But the thing was she really had nothing to say to him. "I don't wanna talk about this."

"You have to talk to me." He muttered, trying his best to keep his cool. But if she tried leaving again he wouldn't be able to handle it.

"No, because I don't actually have to talk to you." She said looking up. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying all day long.

"Please talk to me." He begged her.

"No, you did this! You ruined our marriage!" She yelled. "Everything we fought for you ruined! You said things, unbelieve things even after you knew how much they would hurt me."

"I understand that you are angry with me but-" he was interrupted by her cries once more.

"I am not angry I am in pain! YOU ARE THE REASON FOR MY PAIN!" she cried her heart out as he stood there taking it all. "You are the one person who is supposed to love me more than anything that happens in our lives, but you didn't. You took the pain I felt and used it against me! You took things I am horrified of and threw it in my face. I had no control in my past Rogers! Because they did it all to me! YOU WEREN'T THERE! YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT I WENT THROUGH!"

"You didn't do things-" She once more didn't let him finish his sentence instead she kept screaming.

"I TOOK CARE OF MYSELF SO I COULD SURVIVE!" She yelled. Steve flinched at her words. "And even from the red room, I have never felt so alone then what you made me feel. Never!"

"I am sorry. I said things that shouldn't have been said, I hurt you and I feel so bad! I didn't think"

"You don't think Steve! I was fighting for you to live! I DO TRUST YOU! Maybe I don't trust myself. I don't trust myself to raise this baby alone. And if something were to happen to you I would be alone. I have always been alone and maybe this one time I didn't want to be alone. I wanted to be happy with you! But you don't- you don't" She couldn't even finish her words before breaking down to the floor crying. Her words caught in her throat.

Steve stood there watching his wife unsure what to do. He wanted to hold her but she hurt so much. But Steve didn't care. He walked up to his wife and hugged her. Holding her close as she cried her heart out. After a few moments she wrapped her arms around him as if he would fade away at any second.

"Please don't leave me." She mumbled into her chest. "Don't make me be alone again." She said. Steve held her closer and tighter.

"I am not going to leave." He said.

Although there were still many scars left to be healed she didn't care. All she cared about was there he was there he was holding her. He was making sure she wasn't alone. And with their child as their witness, they will work to make sure that they are never alone again.
