Love is But a Game | Romanogers/Blackhill |
"Romanoff is getting on my last nerve." Steve Roger's booming voice rang over the group of five men sitting around the table. The darkness of the room only lit the very minimum details of the men's tired angry faces.
They call themselves the Avengers. 6 unlawful criminals. Bruce Banner wanted murder for releasing a virus that causes the human body to change into an awful creature. Clint Barton, a gun for hire- hitman if you will. With the right price, he will take whoever you need out. No questions asked. Thor Odinson, a rich heir to the Odinson company, riffled with corruption. Tony Stark- the richest mechanic you'll ever know. Steve Rogers, the leader of the pack. Ex-military fighter and quickly one of the biggest mobsters of the States after the government sent the love of his life out on a mission where she disappeared. Now he is the most feared man in the states- note that we said, man.
Natasha Romanoff Russian heiress. Daughter of Ivan, the curlest mobster in the world. He died at the hands of his daughter taking all his power with her. She was feared everywhere she went. Governments wanted her thrown in jail, yet no one seemed to be able to catch her and if they did, the evidence just wasn't enough to lock her up. She joined the group of the Avengers after seeing a potential opportunity in siding with them. Making allies was crucial in their line of work.
"What has she done this time?" Barton spoke back to the captain, cleaning his arrow.
"Romanoff's spiders were seen in my area of town, spying on my men." Rogers hissed.
"She's in everyone's business Rogers, I thought we already knew this," Tony said. "Is that why you called this little meeting? To complain about your ex? Because if so I'd like to leave." Rogers and Romanoff had a very interesting relationship, they were always at each other's throats whether that be threatening or...lovingly.
"She about to ruin another one of my deals, Tony. That's why we are talking about it. Ever since Romanoff jumped in bed with that cop."
"You think she'd rat us out?" Thor asked raising an eyebrow.
"I think Natasha will do anything that benefits Natasha," Steve answered.
"So why call us?" Bruce pondered out loud.
"Because I think it's time we find out if her getting laid is enough to betray her loyalties." Steve stood up and turned away from the group. "We have given her enough room to play, she isn't in charge and she needs to stop acting like she is."
"So the plan then?" Clint asked.
"Call Wanda, I want to speak with her."

"Mmm you shouldn't be here," Maria muttered as Natasha kissed the side of her ear. "You have to go."
"Why? I am having so much fun." Maria could feel the smirk on her neck as Natasha continued to kiss her way down her neck.
"Because I have to get to work, and Fury isn't exactly your biggest fan," Maria said finally pushing Natasha off of her. They were in her car outside her apartment building casually having fun, as Natasha called it.
"If I wanted Nick to be my fan it would have happened already. I don't care about him. All I care about is you right now Masha" Maria couldn't help but roll her eyes and pulled down the mirror to see what damage Natasha did to her hair.
"Don't you have a meeting or some secret mod business?"
"You can't ask me about work. That was the deal." Natasha said. "Besides those boys can wait. Not exactly the highlight of my week seeing them." At that moment her phone beeped. "Unfortunately you are right. I do have to go. We will have to finish this another time."
"I want you before Rogers gets his hand on you this time," Maria said. She was growing dangerously possessive of Natasha. It went against everything she stood for but she couldn't help herself. Natasha was just so alluring. No wonder Steve couldn't stay away from her. She was like a drug.
"No promises." With that, Natasha smirked and stepped out of the car. Maria watched with a shake of her head as Natasha disappeared. She reached into her bag in the back seat and pulled out a file. The title on it 'The Black Widow.'
"What are you up to Natasha."

High heels hit the pavement with a click as Natasha exited from her slick black corvette. Outside of Roger's manner were the cars of the 5 men she does business with, the gang was all here. She smirked. She walked up throwing her keys at one of Tony's many assistants- Happy Hogan. Man needed a new nickname, he was everything but happy.
"Ms. Romanoff good to see again." Happy said. "Can I take it for a spin?"
"Unless you want Jarvis over here to clean up your dead body." She replied with her smirk, to which happy only shook his head. "Is the kid here?"
"Pete? Yeah, he's inside."
"Let him know I wanna talk to him." She walked up the grand steps of Steve's mansion with grace.
"You know I don't work for you." Natasha turned her head ever so slightly showing him her smirk.
"Honey. Everyone works for me."

When Natasha walked into a room fear followed her, it's like an overwhelming shadow. She didn't need to fear the dark, the dark feared her. And if those boys really think that they can play a game of cat and mouse with her, they were truly mistaken.
See Natasha knew about their plan to test her loyalties the moment they called in Wanda. Wanda was many things to many people but above all her loyalties laid with Natasha. Natasha was the only person who truly expects her and her... gifts. Wanda owed more to Natasha than those guys knew, so of course, they weren't gonna get one up on her.
"Well well well look at my boys all gathered around waiting for me."
"We aren't your boys," Tony huffed.
"Yeah, we are." Clint laughed lightly. Natasha gave them all a once over.
"Boys let me ask you this one time." She casually walked around the table, her finger traced the shoulders of each one of them as she walked by, noting each weapon they all had in case it came to a fight. "We are a team are we not?" She stood at the head of the table, Steve watched her carefully. "We are supposed to trust each other. So imagine my surprise when I hear you boys don't trust me."
"Trust is a funny thing coming from you Nat." Steve let out.
"Perhaps." She shrugged. "But I wouldn't go after another member of my team, that's just suicide waiting to happen."
"Your spiders were in my area. You are spying on me." He hissed.
"Not everything is about you as you might have otherwise believed." She wasn't dumb enough to spy on Rogers. Please no one was. She was powerful but Steve was more or less stubborn. He would let her rot in hell without even blinking over their past.
"What were you doing there?"
"Hmm, I was having my men show dear old Matt what happens when he goes against me in court. Having my men show him what my so-called partners do to a man who simply bumps into in the street. I wasn't spying on Rogers. I was giving a warning."
"And what about Hill?" Clint asked. "You've been awfully close to that cop."
"Hill is fun. Can't a girl have some fun."
"Not at the expense of her partners," Thor told her. "My brother's been arrested by Hill, she got a tip. Wonder where that came from."
"You and I both know prison won't hold Loki for very long. You'll get him out of there in five minutes. I need information from her and she needed Loki's arrest, it was a win-win for everyone."
"Since when do you care about being fair to everyone," Bruce said.
"Since I've seen something I want. I want something that is going to be a little difficult to apprehend." she shrugged. "I need help to get it."
"The great Natasha Romanoff is asking for help? I can't believe it." Steve gulped down the rest of his whiskey. "So what information did you get off of hill that you still need our help with?"
"My father is alive." She said plainly and simply.
"Ivan? I thought-"
"That I killed him? Apparently, it's not so easy to kill the leader of Russia's tops mobs. He's been in protective custody since I took over. Also serving time. I needed to know where. Luckily for me, Hill had a file of me."
"She thinks she's playing you?" Tony almost wanted to laugh. Did that woman really think she had the upper hand on Natasha Romanoff?
"Yeah, she's also a heavy sleeper. Took a peek at it this morning. I have the location of my father."
"And why do you need our help?" Steve asked. "You've never really been one to play by the game Nat. I am still not sure why you joined our group, to begin with."
"I am a team player when I want to be. Besides keeping him dead will keep you five at the top. Besides I need reassurance that if I die that my power falls back on you Rogers and not some idiot from California." She walked over to him and placed her hands on his shoulders. "You know deep down the only people we can trust is each other."
"Kinda hard to trust someone when you don't know who they are."
"Who do you want me to be." She asked. Steve watched her, studied her eyes for any sort of pin that she was lying. That he wasn't gonna walk straight into her web.
"What do I get out of it? Surely you didn't come here and just expect us to agree." He said still studying her face.
"Of course not. I know how much you boys appreciate your gifts. Bruce, Tony, now that I am having a bit of fun with the cops, I can officially get Betty and Cho back." Betty and Cho were two scientists locked up for association with the gangs, and the boys weren't able to get them out without prosecuting them any further. "Thor I have certain Warrior who'd be willing to return to you, and Barton I think you and I could talk further on the matter at hand." They gave each other a knowing look.
"And what exactly do I get?" Steve asked. That's when Natasha's wicked smirk grew to ten times the size.
"Well me of course."

"A mafia wedding?" Bucky laughed as Steve walked to his private jet. They were heading to Brazille where Natasha's father was in protective custody. Natasha would stay behind as to not bring suspicion to her. Thor and Clint were providing alternative distractions around the world that reeked of Avengers. As to avoid suspicion. Tony was paying a good sum of money to guards while Steve leads out the kill. "Really? Kill her father and you get to marry her?"
"That was a deal," Steve answered.
"But you don't even love her." Sam pointed out.
"Marriage can be much more than love," Steve answered avoiding eye contact.
"Oh my gosh you do love her," Bucky smirked after reading Steve's face.
"What are we 12?" Steve hissed.
"Are you only agreeing to this because you hate the fact that she's been with Hill? You never did like to share," Bucky laughed. Anyone else would have gotten killed for their comment. Bucky was lucky.
"Natasha and I marrying is a great business opportunity for both of us. Our marriage will be what we both need to be at the top of the ladder. No one will dare come after us."
"I am sure that's it," Sam said shaking his head. "Just be careful man, Natasha isn't exactly the loving wife."
"Believe me, boys." He smirked. "I have everything under control. Soon everything that Natasha has, every power she thinks is hers, it will be mine."
