"Bleached out shitty hair." - Valdis Zola (Part 1, drabble)
"Are we sure this is the place...?" Bucky said, frowning deeply. The club the avengers currently stood in was chaotic and loud, people in everything from fishnets to suits. Steve nodded, having received the coordinates from Fury himself. "According to the intel, this is where Zola's child is performing. We need to find out what they know about their father's plans."
As they made their way through the crowd, they caught sight of Valdis Zola onstage, playing a raucous tune with three other teenagers. The song was loud and intense, with Valdis on lead guitar and vocals.
"Is this some kind of joke?" Natasha whispered to Clint. "We're supposed to be here to find out about Hydra's latest scheme, and we end up at a punk rock show?"
Clint shrugged. "Hey, Fury's intel isn't always accurate. But let's at least hear them out before we jump to conclusions."
As the song ended, Valdis stepped up to the microphone. "Thanks everyone, we're Once Monsters. This one's called Cocaine Jesus."
The Avengers exchanged looks as the band launched into another frenzied tune, punctuated by Valdis' vocals. They watched as the crowd bounced and sang along, caught up in the energy of the moment.
But when the song ended, Valdis took a moment to catch their breath and look around the room. Their gaze landed on the Avengers, and they felt a jolt of recognition.
"Wait a minute," Valdis said, holding up a hand. "You're...you're the Avengers, aren't you?"
There was a collective murmur from the crowd as all eyes turned to the team. Valdis stepped down from the stage and approached them, looking equal parts excited and nervous.
"What are you guys doing here?" Valdis asked, scanning their faces for answers.
"We're here to talk to you about your father," Steve said, stepping forward. "Arnim Zola."
Valdis' expression changed in an instant, turning cold and wary. "What do you want to know?"
"We need any information you might have about his recent activities," Natasha said, her voice softening. "Anything you can tell us could be helpful."
Valdis hesitated for a long moment, eyes flickering around the club. They seemed to think better of running away, though, and instead led the Avengers to a quieter corner of the bar.
"I don't have much," Valdis said, sitting on a stool and crossing their arms. "My dad and I...we weren't close. But I do know that he's been working on some kind of new AI project. Something he thinks will change the world.""
The Avengers exchanged a worried look at the mention of Val's little sister. "We will do everything in our power to find him and make sure your sister is safe," Steve promised.
Valdis nodded, looking relieved. "Thank you. And...if there's anything else I can do to help, just let me know."
Natasha gave them a small smile. "We'll keep that in mind. In the meantime, stay safe and keep an eye out for anything suspicious."
With that, the Avengers left the club, their minds swirling with new information. As they made their way back to their headquarters, they discussed the possibility of Zola's AI project and what it could mean for the world.
But there was one thing they all agreed on - they had to find Zola and put a stop to whatever he had planned, before it was too late.
