3rd Person POV in Blocksburg High School (I couldn't think of a name -_-)
"Hey Aiden!"
"How's it goin' A-man?"
"You going to the game later?"
Everyone around the seemingly optimistic boy thought that he was just friendly to everyone and his life was all rainbows and hugs. However, what they didn't know what that underneath the smiles and friendly comments, he was suffering...
Over the past few weeks, Aiden had fallen into a sinkhole of sadness that he could never seem to get himself out of ever since he moved from the town he was born in and lived in for the majority of his life and left behind his three best friends: Lukas, Maya, and Gill.
The teachers were nice at his new school, but he hardly knew any of his classmates and was always secretly by himself because he was afraid that he might get bullied on for being "the new kid." Plus, it didn't help that once he left the sanctuary of the school, more people turned out to be less friendly and they beat him up occasionally.
As a result, he began to fall into depression and started to cut himself more and more often with every beating he got.
One day, he was in the hallway by himself during lunch trying to find a place to sit down and eat, when a classmate who constantly beat him up outside of school pushed him to the floor and told him to just disappear before walking off with some of his friends as they snickered with him.
Beyond upset and depressed, Aiden quickly retreated to the bathroom and looked for something sharp in his backpack to cut himself with and could only find his blue pair of scissors and just as he was pushing the points into his wrist he heard a stall open behind him.
"What are you doing?!" As a guy with a mop of brown hair and green eyes wearing a white shirt and blue jeans held up by red suspenders came over and took the scissors out of his hands before he could break the skin.
"Give those back." Aiden tried to pry them out of the guy's hand, but he held them out of reach.
"Why? So you could hurt yourself even more than it look likes you already have?" He said looking at the multiple bandages that were poking out from under Aiden's jacket sleeves.
"What's it to you what I do to myself?" Aiden asked as he stopped trying to get the scissors back.
"It is my business if you're trying to hurt yourself for what seems like no reason."
"You have no idea what it's like being the new kid, constantly having to watch your back outside of school because you get beat up by people who see you as their next victim." Aiden shouted at him as he curled his hands into fists and he turned around to keep the guy from seeing the tears fall from his eyes.
"Yes I do..."
"Really?" Aiden slowly turned to face the guy.
"I was once the 'fresh meat' like you who always got picked on, in and outside of school and home, but I didn't let that stop me."
"How'd you do that?" Aiden wiped some of his tears away.
"I found friends who I knew were good, trustworthy, and that I could depend on them if things were getting rough. Just because you're hurting, doesn't mean that you should try to take an option that will prevent you from living the rest of your life with people who could care about you if you gave them a chance." He explained as he put a hand on Aiden's shoulder and put the scissors into his hand.
"So what are you going to choose?" He asked as he started to grab the backpack he dropped on the floor and walk out before Aiden decided to put the scissors back into his bag and followed the guy out.
"By the way, I never caught your name." Aiden said as he and the guy walked outside and he saw two people waving to the guy's as he waved back to them and nodded his head to the side toward Aiden and they smiled and nodded.
"It's Jesse." He said as they sat down next to the two people and they smiled and introduced themselves to him.

AN- Suicide and Self-harm should not be taken lightly and so many people suffer from depression to where they try to resort to it, but sometimes the reminder that they're not alone and that people still care about them is all that's needed to get them out of that rut. Suicide is not the answer.
