A Lukesse request from MountainGirlXV

"Jesse, we need more lapis."

"The water supply in the well is running low."

"The wheat field is being overrun by bunnies."

"We need the Mine Guard to take out a mob spawner that's near the field where the animals graze."

All the citizens' voices overlapped each other until every single request started to blur together in Jesse's mind. Gripping her quill with an iron grip as she rapidly tried to scribble down everything she heard, she gritted her teeth in frustration as she tried to control the throbbing headache that was rising in her mind.

"PLEASE STOP!!!" Jesse finally lost it, broke her clipboard with both hands, crumpled the paper she had been writing on in her fist, and ran off toward the Hall.

Lukas was walking through town looking for Jesse when he overheard some of the Beacontowners talking as they walked past him,

"Wonder what's going on with Jesse?"

"I don't know, maybe she's finally starting to crack."

"She had a good run..." Their voices got faint as they walked away and Lukas raised an eyebrow at what they said.

"I better go see what's up with Jesse..."

Time Skip to the Order Hall

"Jesse?" Lukas called out as he looked into the dark rooms of the Order Hall looking for any sign of the brown-haired girl. As he was about to check Jesse's room, he could hear faint sobbing behind the door and knocked gently.

"Hey Jesse, are you alright?"

"Y-yeah..." Jesse shakily replied from inside.

"Can I come in?"

"S-sure..." Lukas opened the door to find Jesse in the dark hugging her knees while sitting in a corner. Lukas sat down next to Jesse and put an arm around her shoulder to pull her into a hug.

"What's wrong? I've never seen you so stressed out before." Lukas asked her with concern. Jesse hesitated for a few seconds before answering,

"Ever since Radar went to go visit his family two weeks ago, I haven't been able to handle all the requests for changes and errands that need to be run around town and I've been trying to stay strong for them, but I just... can't..." Tears started to stream down her cheeks as Lukas hugged her closer to let her cry into his shoulder. 

"I think you need a break. I was actually coming over here to ask if you wanted to join me in a Disney movie marathon."

"But what about all these requests?" Jesse handed the crumpled piece of paper where she had quickly scribbled down all the requests to Lukas as he straightened it out before looking it over.

"Well, I think since the Mine Guard is about to go on another mining trip, they might as well take out the mob spawner near the field, before they head out to look for more lapis and underground water springs. As for the bunnies, I think Stacy might be able to scare them away with her wolves." Lukas suggested as he got up, helped Jesse up as she wiped her tears away, and he went to go tell the Mine Guard and Stacy what to do.

Another Short Time Skip

"Alright, I was thinking we could start with Frozen and see where it goes from there." Lukas put the movie disc into the player as he and Jesse got settled down on the couch.

"Ok." Jesse smiled as the movie started and Lukas let Jesse lean on him.

An hour later, the movie was ending and Lukas was about to get up to put in another movie when he noticed that Jesse had fallen asleep on him and was breathing evenly.

Lukas turned off the tv, carefully got up without waking Jesse up, got her favorite carrot-patterned pink blanket, and spread it over her after putting a pillow under her head.

"I hope you at least learned that you will always have friends to help you out in tough spots..." Lukas whispered to Jesse right before he placed a kiss on her forehead and left to go check on the errands that needed to be run, barely missing seeing Jesse smiling faintly in her sleep.
