Explosive Engineering in the Evening

A Magnugaard oneshot request from singer00

Takes place before MCSM Season 1 when the first Order of the Stone was still a group and younger

3rd Person POV in the village that would become Beacontown

"I should add a repeater here that way..." Ellegaard continued her thought muttering to herself when she felt a tap on her shoulder. When she turned to see who it was there was no one there and she felt another tap on her other shoulder and managed to turn around just in time to see Magnus grinning.

"When will you not fall for that?" Magnus asked her while still grinning.

"Ummm... maybe when you decide to stop acting like a little kid." Ellegaard shook her head while smiling softly as she turned back to her automatic sliding door creation.

"Come on, Ellie, you need to take a break from this thing, you've been working on this thing for three days and you haven't had no sleep or nothing to eat."

"'Haven't had any sleep' and 'anything to eat', double negatives, Magnus." Ellegaard corrected him before she turned back to her invention.

"Ya see! There's the Ellie I know and-" Magnus halted his statement right before the next word came out. Luckily for Magnus, Ellegaard didn't seem to notice as she went back to modifying the repeater settings.

"Come on, you need a break!" Magnus insisted as he pulled Ellegaard up from her crouched position to drag her to the door of her workshop.

"Alright alright, I will humor you for one hour of free time, but then I really must get back to my invention." Ellegaard finally gave in and pulled her arm from Magnus' grip to walk on her own.

"Ok, fine deal, one hour and then back to your science doohickey." Magnus relented both accepting and admiring the fact that Ellegaard was so stubborn and determined to finish her invention.

"Let's go to the new bakery, I heard they have some wicked bread."

"Well, then this should be worth the break." Ellegaard smiled as she and Magnus headed for the new bakery.

3 Hours Later

"Oh man, when you kept saying that that loaf had a piece of paper in it, I honestly thought you were kidding." Magnus laughed as he and Ellegaard walked into the garden and pond area that was just outside of town as the sun had finished setting in the distance.

"Who knew that it would be a special offer for free bread on weekends for the next three months." Ellegaard giggled as she held the slip of paper in her hand before pocketing it to finish her loaf of bread. They were walking through a small garden with one trellis that acted as the entrance and exit that included a pond that had a small statue in its center and small stone pillars scattered across the pond's to act as steps. They were enjoying themselves walking hand in hand until Ellegaard realized what time it was.

" AAGH! It's been too long, I have to get back to my workshop!" Ellegaard cried out in alarm before trying to run across the pond on the stones.

"Ellie wait!" Magnus followed Ellegaard across the pond and caught her just as she was about to slip off of an unstable stone that crumbled as soon as she put one foot on it. They both stood there in the middle of the pond on one stone pillar until Magnus broke the silence with,

"M-maybe we should get back to solid ground." Magnus stuttered as he still held Ellegaard's hand and they hopped across the remaining pillars to get back to the walkway.

"Thanks for catching me..." Ellegaard thanked Magnus shyly as her cheeks became light pink.

"No problem..." Magnus trailed off before asking, "Why do you want to leave in a hurry, are you not enjoying our time together?"

"Of course not, I just... want to get back to work."

"Do you really?" Ellegaard answered with a light nod, "Then let's get back to your workshop."

Magnus and Ellegaard went back to the entrance/exit point of the garden where Magnus took a white flower off the trellis that made the doorway.

"Even if this evening was... unplanned," Magnus handed Ellegaard the white rose before planting a kiss on her cheek, "I still had a great time..."

Ellegaard put a hand to the cheek Magnus kissed and smiled as they walked out of the garden back to Ellegaard's workshop where they worked together to finish her invention.

AN- Sorry it took to long to complete and post and I know it's not exactly like the garden scene from Hercules, but I hope you still like it :)
