Jesse's POV

We had just defeated Romeo's giant magma golem when Lluna suddenly popped up from behind the door, startling me, Petra, and Radar.

"How the... how did you... Why do I even keep asking?" I groaned, defeated as we continued down a hall and Lluna just flashed me a grin.

"This is the first place down here that looks... alive." I marveled at the sight of a small cabin that was located next to a stream and in the middle of a field of flowers. It looked... peaceful.

"Ooh, ooh perfect." Radar said as he ran over to fence gate, pulled it open, and dipped his, still slightly charred, feet in the river and sighed with relief as Lluna went over to join him.

"I'll meet you over there. I'm going to go take a look around." Petra said as she pointed to the cabin. I barely saw from the corner of my eye that she glanced over at Radar, then me, and smiled as she proceeded over to the little house.

Meanwhile, I looked around at how well-maintained the area was with its flowers and a birch tree in front of where Radar was sitting by the river. As I approached him from behind, I started to "talk" to him.

"I'm sure this isn't what you thought you were signing up for. Being an intern doesn't usually involve deadly adventures..."

"Uh, what? Did you say something?" He turned to face me from where he was rubbing his feet.

"Nope! Nothing." I tried to play off coolly and Lluna gave a snort at my poor attempt to lie as I hurried away to go investigate the house.

Radar's POV

He's worried about me... I thought as Jesse tried to lie that he didn't say anything, but I heard everything he said behind my back and was grateful he cared about me, not just as his intern, but as a friend.

Lluna snorted and gave my arm a nudge and looked me in the eye.

"Is it really that obvious?" I asked her and she snorted again while nodding her head and then she butted it against my side.

"Thanks Lluna, I never knew you were so good at giving advice." I stroked her head and she grinned a goofy smile at me.

Short Time Skip

Jesse and Petra came running out of the cabin to tell me and Lluna that they found the answer to defeating Romeo, in the form of some kind of weird code.

"Come on, we have to get back to the Oasis to signal the others to catch up." Jesse said as he watched Petra pulling on Lluna's scarf since she refused to move from where she was chewing on a flower in the meadow.

"You two go on ahead, I'll try to bring her along as fast as I can." She huffed as she resorted to pushing her back against Lluna's side, but to no avail.

"Alright, let's get going Radar." He said to me as we ran out through the challenge room and out into what was left of Romeoburg where Val and Soup were off in the distance playing with their brown llama as they waved bye to us.

"Hey Jesse..." I said as we jogged on through the empty plains.

"Yeah?"

"I heard what you said, back in the cabin, and you should know that all of this wasn't what I had originally signed up for, but I've never had a better time anywhere else with anyone else in all the worlds." I admitted, surprised that I didn't stutter anymore in front of my hero.

Jesse stopped running abruptly and sighed as he said to me as I slowed down as well,

"Yeah, but I thought you said you didn't like adventuring because it was too dangerous, and you were right. My run in with the Warden got you injured, nearly starved in the Mush Room, and then almost eaten by a giant enderman created by the guy who hates me for putting you and the others in danger instead of just facing him myself." Jesse ranted on as a few tears came to his eyes.

"He wasn't mad at you for putting us in danger, he was mad because he thought we were holding you back, and even if you had gone alone, what then? You could've been taken from us forever and we wouldn't have even known where to look for you or if you were even still alive." I said and patted his back as he sobbed a bit at my sincere words and then he pulled me into a hug as he cried into my shoulder.

"Thanks..."

"For what?"

"For being there when I needed you most." Jesse replied as he kissed me on my cheek and I blushed madly and tried to hide it as Petra approached with Lluna in tow.

"Sorry it took so long this girl is just the most stubborn- what did I miss?" She asked as she caught sight of Jesse's tear-stained cheeks.

"Well I-"

"Jesse tripped on some rocks so we had to slow down for a bit." I fibbed as Jesse pretended to hold onto his knee in pain.

"Well, come on you can just walk it off, let's go!" She speed walked ahead with Lluna as we stayed behind a bit and smiled at each other.

Petra's POV

"What's up with those two?" I looked over at Lluna and she gave me a look that said she knew something I didn't, then it hit me.

"You mean Jesse and Radar-?" I started and she nodded.

"It's about time those saw what they had for each other." I smirked as I looked behind and saw the two lovebirds holding hands and blushing madly.

"Let's not bother them." I told Lluna as we ran up ahead with the Oasis in our sights and Xara was by the portal frame finishing it up.
