A Find in the Flowers

A Mandy(OC) X Stampy oneshot requested by KittyVanessa898, sorry it took a while to complete

3rd Person POV

"A little more to the right!" Stacy called up to her friend Stampy as he was floating above the ground thanks to his parrots as he was placing a bucket of water onto the stone slab slide that led to the new doggy pond from the side of Stacy's house to her backyard.

"That's good, thanks!" Stacy gave Stampy a thumbs-up and he came back down to the ground.

"No problem, Stacy." Stampy was placed on the ground and his parrots went back to perching on his head and arms as he fed them all seeds.

"Hey guys!" Lukas came walking up to the pair with a girl hiding behind him.

"Oh, Hello Lukas." Stampy waved to Lukas while Stacy nodded in his direction.

"Hey. Who's the new girl?"

"This is my younger sister Mandy, she came to Beacontown to see how the reconstruction is going." Lukas nudged Mandy out from behind him and she gave a shy wave. Mandy had her hair in a ponytail with a pair of panda ears sticking out and wore a light blue and white shirt with gray pants, and matching blue shoes.

"It's nice to meet you Mandy, we were just working on my new doggy water slide for my dogs." Stacy let out a wolf cry and, after all her dogs came from the backyard, gave them a hand signal to climb up the stairs to the water slide and they all tried it out one by one.

"It looks like fun for them." Mandy spoke up as she came out from behind Lukas' back.

"Lukas!" Radar came running up to them with a wooden basket in hand.

"Hey Radar, what's up?"

"You look like you're about to pass out." Stacy told him as she gave him a bottle of water.

"I'm...*pant* I'm alright. Golly, you'd think after that whole Admin adventure I'd be able to run easier, but..., " Radar trailed off after chugging down the water, giving the bottle back to Stacy before continuing, " Jesse really needs you back at the Hall, like right now for that big project the two of you were going to work on for tonight!"

"Oh man! I completely forgot that was today. I knew I forgot something and we passed by them on our way here." Lukas put a hand to his forehead.

"Them?" Mandy asked and Lukas turned to her after taking the basket from Radar,

"Mandy, you know the flower field we passed on the way here?"

"Yeah?"

"I need you to go back and pick as many different flowers, one of each kind, as you can for tonight, please." Lukas put his hands together as he asked her.

"I got you bro, I'll just need someone to come with me to help me find my way back."

"Sorry, but I gotta get my dogs cleaned up from their playtime." Stacy motioned to her dogs as they were rolling in some mud that had formed next to the doggy pond.

"I could lend you a helping paw." Stampy held up his hand and Mandy laughed a little at that.

"Cool, just be back by sunset please." Lukas put his hands on his sister's shoulders before he handed her the basket and he and Radar ran off back to the Hall.

"Come on, it'll be getting dark soon and that's when the googlies come out." Stampy told Mandy as he pointed to the sun.

"Googlies?" Mandy asked with a confused look.

"Basically, nasty monsters."

"Oh... alright then, let's get going." Mandy told Stampy as she started walking towards the gate.

"I know a better way to travel." Stampy stopped Mandy and let out a high-pitched whistle and all of his parrots attached to his hoodie and began to lift him in the air and he held out his hand for Mandy to take.

"The very best way to travel is by parrot."

"Cool!" Mandy exclaimed excitedly as she took his hand and they were both lifted off the ground, over the wall, and above the forest trees.

"This is amazing! How'd you train your parrots to do this?" Mandy asked as they flew over a large brown mushroom in the middle of the forest.

"Well, actually, all I did was accidentally drop a bunch of seeds on myself and they figured it out all on their own."

Mandy giggled at that and they continued to fly away from town until they got to the flower field she and Lukas had passed on their way to Beacontown.

"Down there!" Mandy used her free hand with the basket on her elbow to point to the flower field. After landing, Mandy put the basket down on the ground and turned to Stampy as he signaled for his parrots to fly around and alert him of any dangers.

"My brother said to grab as many different kinds of flowers, but only one of each kind. I wonder why that is?"

"I have no idea, but we'd better get a move on, sun's starting to get low."

They each gathered all the flowers they could: poppies, daisies, tulips of every color, even some lilies of the valley and put one of each kind in the wooden basket until it reached its maximum intake.

"Alright, that's all of them, now let's-" Mandy started to say, but Stampy quickly held up his hand to stop her,

"Oh hold on, this one is for you." Stampy held out a light blue orchid to Mandy, "It matches your outfit."

"Aw Stampy, that's really sweet." Mandy smiled as she tucked the orchid behind her panda ear on her head, "Here's one for you." She pulled an extra orange tulip out of the basket and helped to pin it to his hoodie.

"Thank you, I will wear it for whatever the big project is tonight."

"Which is about right now!" Mandy pointed to the setting sun.

"Oh! Let's be on our way then!" Stampy whistled for his parrots and the two of them took off for the Beacontown.

Short Time Skip

"Where are they?" Lukas looked around as he and Jesse were standing on a wooden podium in the middle of a large area of grass within the town's walls that had some lanterns strung up around the trees surrounding the area in front of a group of Beacontowners.

"I'm sure they'll be here any second now." Jesse assured him as some of the people started fidgeting in their seats on the grass.

"Look!" One of the citizens pointed to two shapes flying toward them from the sky.

"It's Stampy!" Stacy yelled out.

"And Mandy!" Lukas nearly jumped off the podium when he saw Mandy holding onto Stampy in midair with only one hand. In his nervousness, Lukas startled the member of the Fireworks Union right next to the podium, making him accidentally hit the lever to set off a few fireworks right toward Mandy and Stampy.

The fireworks exploded right in front of Stampy, frightening his parrots, and making him and Mandy hurtle towards the ground.

"No!" Several people including Jesse and Lukas cried out in alarm.

Luckily, Stampy managed to call his parrots back to him and he dove to catch Mandy, saving her right before she hit the ground and landing on his feet.

"Mandy!"

"Stampy!"

Both Lukas and Jesse leaped off the podium to make sure that Mandy and Stampy were alright as the citizens surrounded them as well.

"Are you two alright?" Jesse asked with concern as Stampy was carrying Mandy while his parrots flew around in worry.

"Yeah, my parrots had quite the shock, but we're alright as I landed on my feet like cats always do." Stampy responded after putting Mandy down and was swept up in a hug by Lukas.

"The flowers! We lost them..." Mandy sadly realized but Lukas make her look at him before telling her,

"Hey, what matters is that the two of you are alright."

"Plus," Addie came through the crowd holding up the basket of flowers, "it wasn't a total loss, the basket landed nearby." She rubbed the back of her head while grinning sheepishly before adding, "Sorry I'm late."

"Well, that was both fortunate and unfortunate." Stampy smiled right before Mandy gave him a hug and his face blushed bright red.

"Now, what's this big project you needed to do?" Mandy asked her brother.

"Sit down on the grass and we can get it started." Lukas gestured to the grassy area where Stampy and Mandy went to sit together along with everyone else as he and Jesse went back to the podium with Addie following close behind.

"Citizens of Beacontown," Jesse started her speech, "I know we have had hard times hit this town recently, but I hope that this new community garden will go to show you that, even from the darkest of situations," Jesse gestured to the dark sky as the full moon was starting to rise, "we can endure and be reborn, stronger than before."

The people clapped, but there were multiple confused faces until Addie took up all the flowers from the basket into her hands, shifted to Elytra form, flew up above the ground, and threw the flowers up into the air where they transformed into small white lights. The lights multiplied and floated down to the ground where they sprouted into various flowers and plants that grew all around the area.

Right between where Mandy and Stampy sat next to each other, a light landed, making a single red rose grow and they both went to pick it, making their hands meet at the stem, but they just smiled at each other before sharing a kiss as the lights fell around them.
