Chapter Seven
Sans POV-
I looked to Chara, knowing that she was just using Jessica to invoke grief among these poor humans.
"I thought I had gotten rid of you, Chara." I hissed, feeling my eye socket grow warmer.
"Oh! You didn't get rid of me, Sansy. I got rid of you... remember?"
I felt anger surge up inside me- anger for Chara.
"Chara... im going to give you one. Last. Chance." I growled.
Jesse's figure suddenly appeared, looking shocked and scared.
I guess she had reset the timeline, and is now stuck here while I teach Chara a lesson about using humans as puppets.
"No matter what you do, Sansy.... I'll always be able to beat you." She smirked, pulling out a glistening knife.
"Chara..." I started. "I'm skele-DONE with your ignorance. Haven't you learned that humans are too self aware for you to control?"
She smiled, staring at me with her piercing red eyes.
"No, Sansy. If there's a chance that I can take, I will. You know me enough to know this."
I clenched my fists, seeing Frisk out of the corner of my eye.
"It's a beautiful day outside..." I started. "Birds are singin'. Flowers are bloomin'.... on days like this, 'humans' like you..."
I stared straight at her, preparing my attack.
"Should be burning in hell."
(Jesse's POV)
I remember this skeleton.
His name... is Sans.
He... has a strong attack.
He kept firing bones at rapid speed towards.. Chara.
But none of them could manage to hit the other.
They went back and forth, Chara trying to hit him just once with her sharpened knife.
...monsters fight differently than humans.
Frisk looked at me, trying to say words.
But none came.
I turned back my gaze to Sans, not knowing who to root for.
I.. know that Chara might have been the one who...
Made me do those things to my friends.
But... Maybe Sans was lying?
Ever since the beginning- he always looked at me in this weird way.
Like he was studying me.
Suddenly, light flashed- partially blinding me.
I looked up, seeing Chara caught in the beam of light, a huge grin spread across her face.
She fell to the ground, smiling.
I felt my stomach churn, seeing that a skeleton could kill so easily.
Before anyone could say anything, she appeared again, this time- looking more angered.
"That looks like the face of someone who's died once already." Taunted Sans, smirking.
Chara lunged forward, only to get about a dozen bones rocketed into her.
They went clean through her body, making her fall to the ground.
She came back, Sans not even saying anything this time.
She jumped up to avoid more bones, then threw herself out of the area of the attack by the... glowing blaster things.
She ran forward, only to have more bones shot through her.
"Are you ever going to realize that doing this isn't right?" Sans asked, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
"Are you ever going to realize that I've killed you more than once, and I can do it again?" Asked Chara, a small trickle of blood falling from her mouth.
I looked over to frisk, who was obviously trying to tell me something.
I couldn't understand.
Chara's POV-
I pressed the button, feeling like new again.
I glared at Sans, seeing his powerful eye glowing blue and yellow.
I ran forward, stopping for a second and getting shot by one of sans' blasters.
But not before I saw Jesse...
With her hand over the reset button.
Jesse's POV-
I pressed the button, and it was as if everything has turned to slow motion.
Iran forward, throwing my sword right at Chara.
It lodged in her stomach, and Sans immediately stopped his attack.
I looked at her, knowing that I made the right decision in attacking her and not Sans.
She stared at me, and so did Sans.
Before another word was uttered, Chara disappeared into a cloud of white smoke, her reset button disappearing.
My mouth was agape, and the black melted, changing to my room.
I saw my friends, and Lukas was practically holding me.
Everyone looked shocked, like they didn't know what was going on.
Without warning, I started sobbing.
