Shock (Jaiden)
Aiden's PoV
He picked up his guitar and smashed it into pieces, crying tears of anger and frustration. He grabbed a ceramic plate and threw that onto the floor, his tears joining the shattered remains.
He just needed to let out some anger. Some way to make him calm again. Aiden pulled off his necklace that Jesse gave to him and threw that onto the floor as well. He wanted to smash that pendant into pieces. To get rid of the last thing Jesse had given him.
Before he ditched him. For a girl, of all people. For that Petra. Aiden buried his head in his hands and cried, not caring that his neighbours could hear him. His family was out, so he was alone at home... which was a good thing considering that he was practically breaking everything he could lay his hands on.
Why Petra? What did Jesse see in her? Aiden didn't know... he just couldn't believe he had lost his best friend to a girl. And Jesse being Jesse... well, he didn't seem to notice how distraught Aiden was when he announced that he and Petra were officially dating.
Aiden had a little hope. A tiny hope that somehow, Jesse would eventually love him. But no... that Petra had to take Jesse away from Aiden, leaving him with nothing. Aiden slowly sank to his knees, wiping away his tears as he sat among the broken pieces of his guitar, some plates and his necklace.
Why couldn't Jesse see that Aiden loved him? As if on cue, his phone buzzed, indicating a message from someone. Aiden sighed and looked at the message.
Jesse: "Wanna come over?"
As if nothing happened. Aiden frowned, but felt that familiar pang in his heart again. Why couldn't he just stop thinking about that green eyed dork.? Aiden's fingers hovered over the phone's keyboard, wondering how to reply to Jesse.
Jesse: "We can just hang out like old times A. Nothing changed."
Aiden scowled. Everything changed when Jesse started dating Petra. Why couldn't Jesse understand that Aiden was trying to get over him? Oh right, because Aiden didn't even tell Jesse that he had a crush on him. How logical.
Aiden flinched when he heard the doorbell ring. Great, his family was home. Thinking quickly, he swept the broken fragments under his bed (convenient) and opened his bedroom door, texting as he pulled on his jacket
Aiden: "On my way."

"Hey!" Jesse smiled brightly as he opened the door for Aiden. The other boy smiled weakly. Jesse definitely changed a lot. Petra had convinced Jesse to cut his hair a little, which made Aiden a little upset, since he loved Jesse's messy brown hair, which curled up everywhere and made him look even more adorable.
"Uh Aiden? Wanna come in?" Jesse asked, opening the door wider and snapping Aiden out of his thoughts. "Oh right. Thanks." Aiden smiled and entered Jesss's house, and just like old times, they immediately headed to Jesse's room.
The only place where Jesse and Aiden could talk without his annoying sister barging in or his father walking in randomly. Sometimes Aiden hoped Jesse would just show some sign of affection towards Aiden... anything. But nothing. They were just friends. Best friends. And it was something Aiden couldn't help but obsess over.
Sure, Jesse had just said "I love you." to Aiden but that was just as a joke, after they had playfully fought or something.
Aiden called Jesse his best friend, but unfortunately, Aiden had never heard Jesse call him his best friend. Which was strange, but... Aiden also couldn't help but think about that a lot.
Aiden looked over at Jesse, who was lying on his bed and throwing a basketball at the ceiling and successfully catching it each time. Why did Aiden have to fall in love with that boy? He felt a little angry with himself. Jesse has the right to love whoever he wanted. It didn't concern him.
"What are you thinking?" Jesse asked, without looking over at Aiden. The lime eyed boy looked at the ball, which was spinning on Jesse's finger. "Just some stuff..." he mumbled, leaning back against his chair.
Jesse sat up, his hair falling in front of his face. Aiden had to resist the urge to just push it away, to see Jesse's green eyes. "Wanna talk about it.?" Jesse asked, bouncing the ball around with his feet. "... What if I said I was in love with a boy.?" Aiden blurted out.
Jesse didn't even look surprised. "I kinda knew that."
"Wait- what?" Aiden asked as Jesse smiled at him. "Is it Lukas? He's always trying to hang around with us."
Aiden blushed and shook his head, seeing how close he was to Jesse.
"Then Gill. I say it's Gill." Jesse teased, poking Aiden's arm. Aiden bit his lip at Jesse's touch, which sent him into a nervous wreck. "No, it's not Gill." Aiden muttered, looking down at the carpeted floor.
"Please don't tell me it's Romeo." Jesse laughed. "Even though he's like, a year older than us and all-."
Aiden couldn't help it, he just squeezed his eyes shut and pulled Jesse into a kiss, shocking the other boy.
Aiden didn't want to admit it, but he kinda liked the kiss... even though Jesse was practically in shock and was frozen. Aiden had to make this kiss last... because he knew that he wouldn't have another chance ever again.
Aiden pulled away, his face red and his vision blurry. Jesse was staring at him, a million expressions on his face, but it was mostly shock.
"I-I'm really sorry Jesse.." Aiden stood up, tears streaming down his cheeks as his best friend stared at him, his emerald green eyes shining with tears as well.
"I'm sorry you don't feel the same way about me."
With that, Aiden turned and opened the door, hastily brushing away his tears and heading downstairs to run out of the house as fast as he could.
He knew he never had a chance with Jesse... no matter how much he tried.
