Heh, I know this was either really obvious considering the Title Picture, but Aiden has got to be one of the best characters. I know you're probably like, "Ok, so I understand he's not an evil villain... but one of the best characters out there?" 

He's at least one of my favorites because Aiden is realistic. In a world that revolves around The Order of the Stone, there's bound to be some people out there who were jealous. Aiden wasn't really loved by people in the first place because he was kind of a jerk. But people hated him because he stole treasure before others, he won building competitions, and just was generally good at things. But he wasn't loved, people thought he was a jerk, and the second Jesse and his/her friends won the building competition and helped save the world they were hailed as heroes. Now I will give Jesse credit, he/she did save the world which means they should totally get respect and rewards. But I can't imagine what it must have been like after a while and The Order began taking any new treasures they could find, leaving others nothing. All I'm trying to say is that it's somewhat reasonable that Aiden was jealous and angry with Jesse. But I will say it wasn't exceptional on how Aiden tried to frame and kill Jesse. 

If in the game you were playing Jesse and you were reasonable with Aiden and understood his anger, then props to you. But... uh, if you were calling Aiden names and shoving him around after you won the battle then, bro... I understand he tried to kill you, but seriously don't stoop to his level. 

Aiden was just filled with so much anger and hatred that it consumed him. He went on a rampage trying to get everything he could, but once again The Order followed after him and were the ones who saved the day and got the treasure. Aiden didn't deserve to be a ruler of any kind, or just generally push others around, but he couldn't help himself. In the end, he realized his mistakes and he did his best to try and fix things. Aiden is just another human like the rest of us, and all the pain and anguish built inside of him was destroying him from the inside out. Nobody deserves to feel so unloved, so hated that it completely changes who they are. Sure Aiden was a jerk in the beginning from being so self-absorbed, but think about it in a sense if Aiden wasn't being such an idiot. 

Aiden just wanted a piece of all the love and glory Jesse did, but he wasn't sure how. He was just another regular person, afraid of death and struggling to get through life. Jesse was brave and heroic and sacrificed himself to save his friends, but Aiden didn't really have any friends. Jesse had been motivated to save something he loved, but all Aiden had received was hatred and insecurities. What did he have to help him get through, nothing, he was just hanging by a thread of one piece of love. But after Jesse became the hero in everyone's lives, all of Aiden's love of winning was crushed, and that string snapped. And he just fell and fell into a hole of despair and self-pity and doubt. 

I'm proud of Aiden for in the end, at least in my game, he saw through his lies and hatred and brought a new love into his life, writing. With writing, Aiden could transport into a world where he's the hero and everybody knew his name. Aiden was beginning to climb a new rope that he had built himself, and now he could receive all the love and treasure he wanted without anyone thinking of him as a self-absorbed jerk. Yes, Aiden was a bully before, but now he's writing a new chapter in his life. He's the author of his own story now, and he'll do whatever it takes to show the world he's changed. One word at a time...
