Chapter 2

The staring eyes dwindled when the siblings sat at their desks and took out a paper.

The teacher coughs and motions for the new students to sit anywhere for now. Jesse pretends to write on the paper he took out and scribbles on it.

He notices Jess doing it too. She must be nervous and embarrassed as he was.

The period ended in an hour and on to their second period after the bell rang.
Jess and Jesse quickly walk out the back door to avoid any awkward situations.

As they walked, the silence lingered for a few seconds before Jesse spoke up.
"So...those new students look interesting. I wonder what their backstory is."

"Definitely. I feel like I want to get to know them better," Jess responds.
They glance at each other and can't help but laugh.

How could they hang out with them? They're already popular and swarming with questions.

The blonde is followed around by girls and the red head by boys.
It seems impossible to befriend them with all these other groups and labels following them around.

Besides, Axel and Olivia are more than enough.
Except, they're at another school...ugh.

So it's just the siblings and the random people they've met but never hung out with.

If course Jesse and Jess get surrounded by people too.
Jess loves running and Jesse loves playing sports.
Sporty Siblings they guess.

That's only during period 4 though.

They both sigh at the unprovable thought and chuckle.
Little do they know the two attractive students smiling at that thought.

Jesse and Jess enter their Honors Biology class right before red and blonde.
Unfortunately, they have to sit in their permanent seats that are far away from each other.

Each table consists of four people.
2 boys and 2 girls.
Simple.

The teacher instructs everyone to copy the agenda on their notebooks while she steps out to make copies.

Jess quickly writes down the agenda so she can just relax for the rest of the time.
Little mr pencil decides to take a "break".
Heh heh.

"Shoot," Jess mumbles.
She grabs her backpack and rummages through the pouch to find a sharpener.
She gives up once she realizes she let Jesse borrow it.
Jess feels ambivalent whether to get up and go get it or just ask for a sharpener at her table.

The feelings scatter as she feels a tap on her shoulder.
Turning around to see a shy Andy, Jess takes the offer.

He was offering his sharpener to her to use.
She took it eagerly and thanked him.

Once she gives it back, their fingers brush gently.
Andy definitely feels it and melts inside.
Trying his best to hide his burning cheeks, he scoots to the right away from Jess.

Of course she's oblivious to this. She's always been.
What she isn't unaware of is the fact that the cute blonde made eye contact with Jess.

She smiles awkwardly and waves.
He smiles back.

Ugh. Why did I wave? That was so uncalled for!

Andy looks at Lukas working and Jess covering her face in obvious embarrassment.
