Garroth x Laurance // Shad's Relic
(Soooooo, this story is COMPLETELY based off a scene in Supernatural. I just added a little MCD flair!^_^)
Laurance's POV
Shad's Relic
It has to be around here
I can feel it
I wander into the dusty crypt, my eyes wandering so often to Garroth's wavy blond fringe. I love the way it just hangs there, never falling out of place.
My candle flickers slightly, my frigid breath grazing it every now and them. All of the sudden, my blood boils, the sound churning in my ears. I sight a dark oak wood box with red scribbled writing.
That's the one
I meet Garroth's gaze. "Is that it?" He asks in his soft, British accent. I really missed his voice, his laugh, his smile, his face, himself in general. Mother of Irene, what's wrong with me?
Many things
Shut up
I shut my eyes, feeling the usual gust of smoke. They open, relieving the maroon bricked room, with Zenix sitting at the charred desk.
"I found it," I announce to him.
"Good, bring it to me," he orders flatly, not looking up.
"It's warded against Shadow Knights," I state.
"Then get idiot of a guard Garroth to do it," he raised is voice, his beady red eyes staring right at me. "Remember what you have to do."
I tense. "He's not an idiot," I say to myself, closing my eyelids once more. I open them again. I really don't have to close my eyes to transport, I can go back and forth whenever I please.
Garroth walks over to the box, not being fazed by it like I am. He grips the box, examining it.
Please just open it
I grab the latch and clicks it open, reviling a soft burgundy glow. Garroth tenderly takes the relic out.
"We've got a winner," he smiles.
"Alright good, I'll go take it to Aphmau," I say, extending my hand. He steps back.
"No, Aph said I should hide it immediately when I found it," Garroth says, giving me a questioning look.
"Oh yes, I'll go hide it then," I step closer to him.
"Laurance," he speaks seriously, "I can handle it."
Suddenly I appear in the shadow room.
"Take it from him," Zenix orders.
"I can reason with him," I answer assuringly.
"Kill him,"
"I can hide it where it'll never be found, Garroth," I say circling around him.
"Y-you know what," Garroth stutters. "I've got this,"
I look right into his nervous cerulean eyes. "I can't let you hide that,"
"Can't or won't?" He asks coldly.
"Both,"
"How did you get out of the Nether spell, Laurance?" Garroth's voice incredible sincere.
"There's has to be another way," I panic to Zenix.
"We've prepared you for this, you're ready." Zenix says, "Kill him."
"Just tell me how you go out of that spell." Garroth speaks. "To be honest, since the first time you came back--" I feel a burning around my body, a bloody shimmer now covering my body.
My monster of a form
"Laurance, I don't know what's wrong with you, but if you still have an ounce of sanity, you don't have to do this." Garroth insists, gripping the handle of his sword.
I run right at him.
I'm so sorry
"THIS ISN"T RIGHT," I shout at Zenix.
"You do realize what tablet can do for us?" Zenix slams his hand on the table, making a point.
I take a deep breath. "I won't hurt Garroth,"
"Yes. You will. You are."
"LAURANCE," Garroth yells at me, blocking my sword with his own. "FIGHT IT, THIS ISN"T YOU!"
"What have you done to me?!" I say holding my head, gasping for air.
"Just relax, do what you're meant to do," Zenix replies.
"What have you done to me, Zenix?!"
"Zenix?!" Garroth questions.
"What have I done for you?!" Zenix yells at me. "I let you leave, I let you be with your friends. I FIXED YOU."
"Laurance!" Garroth screams as I push away his sword easily. I push him to the wall. I beat his face, leaving trails of blood tricking down his face. He tries to throw a punch as well, but I grab his arm and twist it.
Snap
He screams in agony from his newly broken arm.
"You see this relic," I gestures weakly to it. "You're going to have to kill me first before you get anywhere near it." He spits blood on my face. "Come on you coward, DO IT!" I throw a punch.
I smack Zenix's desk. "Please," I plead.
"End this Laurance." Zenix orders once again.
Another brutal punch. "This isn't you," Garroth remarks to me.
I slam the desk. "BRING ME THE RELIC," Zenix shouts.
"Laurance," Garroth says weakly. His face is bloody and bruised, one eye swollen shut. "I know you can hear me, Laurance. It's me,"
Tears cloud my vision.
How did I get into this mess?
"We're family. We need you," His voice breaks.
"I need you,"
"You have to choose, him or us," Zenix states.
"Him, you idiot,"
I drop my blade. Garroth barely raises his arm, in an attempt to protect himself somehow. I turn to my regular form.
"I-I'm so sorry," I say, looking at his beaten up face. I loop his arm around my shoulder. He continues not to speak to me, holding the relic tightly. Obviously, sorry won't cut it.
"I'm sure Aphmau will fix you up," I try to say casually.
"I guess you got payback for what I did for you," Garroth speaks quietly. I chuckle.
Will he ever trust me again? Probably not. But a guy can dream.
In a very straight way.
Nah, that's not true.
