Lyla's PoV
"You have a lovely home," I state, looking around.
"Thank you, but this isn't my home." The male replies. "I share this home with my brother, Levin."
As he places the tea down, I sit quaintly, crossing my legs. "So, you called me here for something. What was it?"
"I'm concerned." He says.
"About?"
"My parents. Especially my mother." He looks down at his folded hands, pondering. "You're a friend of theirs, and I know you're very capable of watching over them."
"So, what exactly do you want me to do?" I ask, placing down my cup. "Watch over them? If so, for what purpose?"
"Yes, I want you to watch over them." He confirms. "But not in a stalkerish manner. I want you to make sure they're okay."
"How so?"
"They've been gone for over a decade. I simply want you to make sure they're.. Mentally stable. I'm sure they can handle it, but.." He seems to be searching for the right words.
"But you want to make them feel okay nonetheless." I smile, looking into his evergreen eyes. There was something about him.. "I know you've barely had much time with your mother, but.. You've inherited her kindness and compassion."
He smiles back, "So you'll do it?"
"Of course."
-can we just pretend it's evening now? Okay.-
Aphmau's PoV
Garroth was out somewhere, catching up, and I was alone on my bed.
A tear leaked from my eye.
Drip.
It made a soft sound, plopping gently onto the hard wood of the treehouse.
I bite my lip, trying to resist a sob.. But it came out anyway.
They're so much older..
They have separate lives now..
They don't need me anymore.
As these sentences whirl through my head, I was unaware of the fact that I was crying. I brought my knees to my chest, laying my head on my knees as I continued to sob.
I missed her first steps..
Her first full sentence..
Another sob.
They have children now..
He's a father to a beautiful little girl..
She's a mother to three wonderful boys and a darling baby girl..
My children are all grown..
More tears. I sat there, with my head in my knees, sobs wracking my body.
Why?
Why was the world so cruel to my village?
It's destroyed..
It's constantly being attacked by bandits...
Half of my people are scattered across the region..
Letting out my emotions for the first time in what seemed like years, felt better.. Just a bit better. I'd bottled up my feelings all this time, plastering on a half fake smile for most days. Soon enough, I heard footsteps. A hand starts to rub circles on my back, calming me. Its voice then started a soft melody, and I knew it was Garroth. I didn't look up, just sat there, still crying as he sang. After a bit, he kissed my head and I finally looked at him. Something inside me relaxed when his sky blue eyes bore into my copper ones. He wrapped his arms around me, still not saying a word.
I fell asleep in his arms.
-------
I felt a hand on my cheek, and I partially knew who it was. I open my eyes, confirming my suspicion.
"Garroth," I started. "I want to restart the Phoenix Alliance."
His face shows shock, but his eyes show wonder. He simply replies, "Sure. Let's do it."
I smile, a mischievous glint in my eyes, "I wanna find everyone else, too."
He's about to say something, but I cut him off. "And, I wanna save Will."
"Well then," he says, chuckling, "another three things to add to my to-do list."
I giggle, correcting, "Our to-do list."
-I'm sorry, but I ship LevLexis-
"Oh. My. Irene." I whisper, staring at my daughter.
Lumina's arms were around Yip's neck, her bright blue eyes staring into his dark hazel ones. Before my brain could process it, their lips collided. Oh, how I wanted to sit down and start a fan ar— I mean, mother-daughter talk. As they pulled away, I ran, giggling like the matured woman I was. What was even better, was that I heard chuckling. As a professional weirdo, I spied on them.
To my surprise, Levin and Alexis were exchanging kisses, and as much as my five-year-old side wanted to gag, my maternal instincts said otherwise. I smiled, proud of my children... I'm now officially going to make it my duty to find Malachi a lover.
---
"Wait!" Lumina called, running towards Logan. She handed him a letter saying, "This is for Leona."
He simply nodded, and continued on his way. I went up to Lumina, smirking.
"Geez, Logan really needs to respect his future daughter-in-law." I state, resisting the urge to giggle.
"D-D-Daughter-in-law?" She stammered, turning red.
I casually asked her, "So, how are you and Yip?"
"M-Me and Y-Yip?"
"Yeah, I saw you two kiss yesterday!" I yell, causing attention.
"Sh-Shh!!" She stuttered, her face turning red, "Mom, you're embarrassing me!!"
"Oh, I'm embarrassing you?" I said, amused. "My work here is done. Now, to mortify Levin!"
She stood there silent, and then I understood why. Yip's arm was around her waist.
I walked up to him. "Hurt my daughter, I'll hurt you. Got it?"
"Y-Yes ma'am." He said, suddenly getting stiff.
I jokingly patted his head, "Now that's a good son-in-law."
I skipped away, looking for Levin.
---
We sat there, simply talking over tea when I brought up...
"So, how's you and Alexis?"
He nearly spit his tea out. My mind said, LMFAO OMG HAHAHAA!! But then my maternal instincts said, OH MY POOR BABY HE'S CHOKING!!
I didn't know what to do. I sat there, innocently staring out the window.
"Repeat that again, Mom?" He said, coughing.
"Lord Levin!" A voice called. A moment later, Alexis appeared.
THIS IS MY CHANCE!
"Hello, my beautiful daughter-in-law," I greeted, smiling.
Her face flushed, "U-Uh, Aphmau, d-did—"
I giggled, running to the door. Right before I did, I completed my parently-goals by squealing,
"Levin and Alexis, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G~!"
A/N - What was going through my head when I wrote this..? Apparently, ships.
I don't even know anymore...
