A/N - Seriously, what was I thinking when I wrote last chapter...? WAIT, WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT!
I HAVE A SOLUTION FOR MY AARMAU TROUBLES. Just so you know, before you read, there's been a good two-three week time skip from last chapter.
––––––––––––––––––––
"???"'s PoV
All I heard was the steady, agonizingly slow beeping of a heart monitor.
I took a breath, running a hand through my dark locks. "I'll be going now." I said to the bedridden figure.
Exiting the small, shabby building, I stepped out into the rain, pulling the hood of my cloak up. Dashing through the heavy precipitation, I was soon able to find my way to the dark oak door of my home.
The usual man was inside, greeting me with a small mumble of my name before I was pulled into a heated kiss. Ignoring all signs of affection, I stumbled into my bedroom, gently laying down. I locked the door, and choked out a sob. Another came out and soon, I was heaving to find happiness. Expecting the familiar warmth of his arms, I laid there, a sliver of hope in my thoughts... but that familiar warmth was long gone. "Help me..." I murmured. "Please."

[still in same PoV]
There he was. In a flash of green attire and dark brown hair. The man dashed about, and I had no choice but to follow. Soon enough, still caught in a mess of rain, I stumbled at a doorstep. Someone else, an older man with auburn hair, stepped towards me.
"Well, hello there." He said casually.
With short breaths, and exhausted stamina, I asked, "Who... who are you?"
He brightly replied, "My name is Chad! Chad G. Augustine Au'Leopold the Third!" [SHOUTOUT!]
I whispered, repeating his name. "Chad... Augusti..." and with a thud, I fell to the ground, a deep state of unconsciousness overtaking my system.
—-------------—
And there it was again, that wretched sound of a heart monitor. Except this time, it was my heartbeat. Slow and steady, I heard the occasional beeps, in sync with my own heart.
Realizing my eyes were open, I stared up. A white tiled ceiling, the typical setting of a hospital or infirmary. But it wasn't. This place held more of a comforting, homey feeling––one that I had forgotten long ago.
"Excuse me, miss?" Spoke a voice. It was a male voice, one that sounded painfully similar to his.
Despite the burning sensation in my lungs, I rasped out to the voice. "Yes?" I sat up, to be greeted by the lonely eyes of a black haired man. He wore no shirt, just a loose red jacket over his clearly defined torso. I was shocked at the sound of my own voice, and he seemed to be as well, for he soon came over with a glass of water.
After the silence filled with my large gulps as I downed the clear, pure liquid, he introduced himself.
"Aaron." He said simply. He showed a curt smile, and I returned it.
I went his way, with the one word introduction. "Anya."
A moment passed, and a feminine voice spoke up. "Aaron, where-"
She was cut off, but simply by those words, I could tell her personality; kind, caring, but childish and charismatic.
She seemed concerned, and there was a pang of a lost emotion in my heart. Was this Aaron's lover?
Another man soon entered, grasping the woman's hand. I felt strangely... relieved.
"Please... help me." I said, finally. "I lost everything, and I desperately need a place to stay."
The woman's eyes widened, and came over to me. By the time I was settled in, she'd introduced herself as Aphmau, and her husband as Garroth Ro'Meave, the former heir of O'Khasis. As I felt a chill up my spine, Aphmau cautiously touched my forehead. By then, I knew. She had seen everything. My past––my dark, horrendous backstory of a life I have.
Her eyes widened a bit, and to my surprise, she started giggling. She caught me off guard, and exclaimed, "You and Aaron would be perfect for each other!"
Aphmau's PoV
Although I showed a giddy demeanor on the outside, on the inside I was saddened by this girl's overwhelmingly sorrow-filled past. I giggled a bit, and Garroth patted me on the head, saying, "Tell me again why I married this childish little demon,"
"I dunno," I responded. "Tell me why I married an uptight snotty little brat."
I looked back to Anya and surprisingly, she was cuddled up in Aaron's lap, peacefully sleeping. Reaching into my pocket, I found a little pouch––my secret stash of sugary cereal. Taking a bit, I munched on it as I told Aaron, "You guys have," *munch munch* "The same background."
He furrowed his eyebrows, but I continued to explain. "You both lost your lovers, plus you both have dark hair and pretty eyes. You're meant to be!"
"What does the hair and eyes have to do with this?" He asked. Nonetheless, he smiled gently whilst looking down.
Third Person's PoV
As Aphmau left to get snacks, Garroth trailing behind her, Aaron looked down at the girl who'd nodded off on his lap.
There were bags under her eyes, and her cheeks showed faded tear stains. Her hands were rough and calloused, yet held a gentle and tender touch... much like his.
"They... gone... yet?" The girl murmured.
As confused as he was, Aaron still answered with a quick, "Yes."
Anya perked up. "Right then." Looking right into Aaron's dark onyx eyes she asked, or rather demanded, "Tell me what happened in your past."
"You tell me what happened in your past." Aaron countered.
Anya sighed. "Don't play this game. I asked you first. I'll tell you after you tell me."
Letting her hazel green eyes bore into his, Aaron felt a strange feeling bubble up in his chest. She was much like Aphmau, trusting, caring, loyal and kind. Yet... this girl had more of an intimidating feeling, whereas Aphmau rarely contained that feeling of intimidation.
Aaron continued to tell his story, and Anya did likewise after he finished.
"And... here I am." She concluded. Gravely saddened, the two sat there in comforting silence, staring at each other. A stray tear ran down Anya's cheek, but was quickly wiped away by Aaron.
Leaning in, their lips glided on and off of each other's. Letting their eyes meet for a brief second, Anya visibly shook. From her point of view, everything started blurring in red. From Aaron's, her hair was being overtaken by a silver color, and her eyes turned a fiery red.
In a flash, she appeared in crimson armor, with a demonic sword to Aaron's throat.
"Wh-Why...?" She asked, her voice diluted.
Aaron remained calm. "Don't deny your feelings." He said. "You hesitated to take my life."
Biting her lip, the girl's eyes returned to normal and her hair was back to its natural dark shade of brown. Breaking down, she simply sat on the ground. Little did she know, the Ro'Meave couple watched from behind the creaked open door. They stood there silently, watching as the girl sob into their comrade's (more or less) barren chest. His eyes softened, gently stroking the girl's head as he whispered sweet nothings.
'I'm sorry, Lily,' He thought. 'but I think I've finally found someone who's just as amazing as you were.'
A/N - AARMAU PROBLEMS: SOLVED (kind of)
Whenever Aphmau wakes up her first concern is Aaron. Whenever Aphmau and Aaron watch over Lilith, they look like proud parents.
HELP MEEEE!!
Also, this character, Anya Ro'Lesse, is my own OC. She will serve as Aaron's lover to fill the void in my soul.
Sorry for the filler. Yes, this was a filler chapter.
