"Your father and I know what you're going through. We were both bullied when we were in school too."
I look over and Newt walks around the corner, nodding. He stands by my side and loops his arm around my waist.
"It's true", he agrees.
I smile, as always, at Newt's gentle touch. Being married to him is all I could've wanted, and having children together was more than I could've ever imagined.
"We'll talk to the school tomorrow and see what we can do. Just know you're not alone and that standing up for yourself isn't a bad thing."
Newt nods again in agreement.
"Yeah, if you need to punch someone in the face because they said something mean to you, you bloody do it."
I nudge Newt. "That is not what I meant."
He shrugs. "But it might be necessary, you never know."
He winks at Charles, our little ten year old boy, causing a smile to spread across his face.
"Alright mum and dad. Thanks."
I smile and remove myself from Newt's grasp, leaving the room. He follows me into the kitchen.
"You know what's funny?" I ask Newt.
"Hm?"
"The fact that he has your accent, even though I don't, and we live in America. He's never heard anyone else speak like that, only you."
Newt smiles mischievously," Yeah, its pretty weird."
"Newton, what did you do?" I ask suspiciously.
His grin grows. "Nothing."
"Don't you lie to me."
"I might've had Uncle Minho and Uncle Thomas bring over some CDs..."
"Newt. What am I going to do with you?" I groan.
"Hm", he says, pursing his lips, as if thinking very hard. "Preferably love me forever."
I smile. "Already done."
I stand on my toes and kiss him, savoring the moment. "You know I love you."
"Yes. I do", he smiles.
