Chapter Two: Bitter Champagne

"Love is always, always bitter
But I'm still
Missing that deep embrace
Gaze that would watch me when I woke up
Your lips that would touch me
Is it all a past story after the curtain call?" - Love is Bitter by Girls' Generation, 2017

Jimin woke up, a soft groan leaving his lips.

He had been up all night negotiating with an FNC executive and even Han Seong-ho himself got involved.

Since he had already debuted as an idol once, his training wouldn't be as vigorous as idols that were already set to debut. He was going to take about a 3-month hiatus from idol activities to train and work hard with other idols, producers, and network.

Jimin wasn't going to let FNC down. He had been given a second chance and he wasn't going to let it waste away and slip through his fingers.

He was going to forget about Yoongi... He was going to forget about the pain he and Hoseok caused him. Whether they both knew he was hurting or not, he didn't care. What was done was done and there was no fixing it.

He was going to be fine like this... He was going to build himself back up from the hole he kept digging himself deeper and deeper into.

No matter what, the Omega was determined to fix himself, even if he acquired more scars and bruises than when he started.

Jimin got out of bed, rubbing his temples and sighing. He was just so fucking exhausted...

He had to go in for a meeting with the CEO of FNC Entertainment and they were going to work out things such as music production and finances.

He went to the bathroom, tugging at his messy, now a bright color brown, locks. He had barely left his new apartment unless it was to get groceries and even then he usually had someone to get them for him so no one had to see him.

Jimin stepped into the shower, lathering his hair with an apple shampoo and conditioner. It smelled nice and did wonders for his hair, bless the Bighit hair stylists.

Who cared if it was for kids? If he wanted to use it he was going to fucking use it!

Jimin washed up and stepped out the shower, drying himself off and checking his feed.

Yoongi had posted a statement on Twitter a few days ago, clearing the air about the rumors. Jimin had retweeted letting everyone know it was alright.

Jimin assumed it was going to be left at that, but he couldn't have been more wrong.

Rumors started circling that Hoseok and Yoongi were dating. If Jimin wasn't wallowing in his own hurt he would have outed both Yoongi and Hoseok. They had been dating behind his back for months and only now the rumors are piling up.

Even if Jimin wanted to move on, something about this seemed wrong.

Why now? Why now all of a sudden these rumors pop up?

Jimin sighed, deciding to ignore it. He came out of the shower and wrapped himself in a fluffy white towel. He got dressed in something casual, but professional looking. A white, silk dress shirt, slightly loose black dress pants, a pair of loafers with black socks, and a nice jacket because of how chilly it was beginning to get.

He called for a car and drove off to the FNC Executive building.

He and Han Seong-ho shook hands and exchanged greetings with welcoming smiles. He already had contracts and papers spread out across the table for Jimin to review and look at.

Jimin read over them thoroughly, glasses perched over his nose. He made sure to make comment here and there before they came to a negotiated and compromised contracts. They shook hands and smiled.

"I look forward to working with you in the future," Jimin said with a smile, his cheeks slightly puffy with a smile that barely met his eyes. It was a professional smile, the same one he gave to bloggers and news reporters whenever they asked him some extremely out of the box questions.

He climbed into his car, sighing as he turned his phone on. People were already talking about how he had just left the FNC building. Some photos of him all dressed up like he was leaving from a meeting, which he was, and pictures of him entering.

People knew about the offers he was getting from other companies, it wasn't a surprise people were already speculating that he was out and about seeking another company to work with.

'Isn't Minnie moving on a little too quickly?'

'I thought Jimin was going on hiatus, not looking for a new company!'

'Fuck do you expect him to do? He's an IDOL. He loves what he does and you think he wouldn't go company hunting after leaving this other company?'

'What a joke... He was obviously kicked out of his company instead of not renewing his contract. It's not like he was the prettiest face on the market, nor is he in high demand, no?'
'You don't know what the fuck you're talking about!'

Jimin and Yoongi had made a silent agreement not to acknowledge the rumors or things people have been saying. Whenever they were asked, neither of them addressed it. The only rumors that were to be acknowledged were the ones about the reasons Yoongi moved out.

"I moved out because I wanted to, nothing else about it," Yoongi quickly told KBS reporters. "Jimin had nothing to do with the reason I moved out. I moved out because of nothing but personal desire."

Jimin was relieved that he didn't say anything about Jimin's meltdown that night he did move out, the night he did leave.

abouteJimin shook his head, glaring down at his screen. He wasn't going to think about Yoongi or Hoseok... He wasn't going to let this feeling hold him down.

Sadly, this mindset would be Jimin's destruction. Jimin hated dealing with his emotions the proper way. This industry found this type of thing a sign as weakness so he would push it away until eventually, he felt it had gone away.

It was a very destructive coping method and he knew it, but he didn't know how to fix it. This exact coping method was most likely the reason he-

He shook his head again, "Stop it, Jimin..."

They arrived at Jimin's apartment when his phone buzzed.

'BREAKING: Kim Namjoon terminates 4-year contract with Bighit Ent.!!!'

Jimin's eyebrows rose. He had a few interactions with the producer and songwriter, even going as far as asking him for lessons on how to do so.

Namjoon was the artist he aspired to be. He wanted to be hands-on in all of his music, not just some of it.

Jimin unlocked the door of his apartment and opened the article on his laptop.

'As of this morning, Producer, Composer, Rapper, and Songwriter has terminated his contract with Bighit Ent. When reporters confronted him leaving the company building-'

Jimin scowled slightly. Do the media just camp out at Bghit headquarters now? Ever since he left it seems there have more and more news stories based around the idols and the staff that work there.

'- he responded saying, 'I had a vision, and I want to see where that vision takes me,' and he swiftly left, refusing to answer any more questions besides that one.'

Jimin raised a suspicious brow. Namjoon was well known for his work inside and outside of Bighit. Namjoon even helped Jimin on a few of his tracks from back in the day. Namjoon didn't produce for him very much, but they bonded over the music they created together from time to time.

He wondered why he would leave all of a sudden, aside from having a "vision" as he called it.

Jimin ran his fingers through his hair. He had no idea what was going to happen from here on out, but he could only perceive it as a bad thing.

He didn't know what this sinking feeling inside of his gut meant, but he could only link it to Namjoon.

"Fuck, I need a drink..."

Of all of the bad decisions Jimin had to have made in life, this one had to be the worst.

He was in a secluded bar not too far off from the old apartment. He had met Yoongi here before he had become an idol.

Jimin drank some sweet tasting alcohol and cried quietly in the corner of the bar. Emotional drunks were the worst to work with and Jimin knew from experience.

Sadly for everyone else, Jimin just so happened to be one of them.

The alcohol left a sweet taste on his tongue, he noticed as he downed another glass. He requested a fruit cocktail but that was most likely the worst idea he could have ever had. He forgot that when this place did cocktails, they did them hard. That was the reason Jimin never liked coming to this place to get a cocktail or something with Yoongi or Hoseok.

One piece of fruit would leave you with a killer hangover to last you a week or two.

He made sure to dress discreetly so he wouldn't be noticed out in public while he was wallowing in his sorrows. But the way things were going right now, he'd be making a fool of himself before he made it outside.

Glass after glass he sunk deeper into his thoughts. In the quiet atmosphere of the bar, he just wanted answers. With no loud music, he could hear himself think.

And it terrified him.

Jimin panicked, slamming some won down on the table and stumbling out. He barely got outside before someone was grabbing onto him and speaking.

In his haze, Jimin panicked. His entire plan of not making a scene was practically ruined at this point.

The person shushed him, his voice holding a reassuring tone to it. His pheromones smelt of chocolate and vanilla, identical to his very own scent.

It was calming, reassuring and most of it was familiar. Like he had smelt this scent before... He didn't feel as terrified or as standoffish as he did a few minutes ago.

In the presence of someone familiar, it made him feel calm. Yoongi stopped having this effect on him long ago... He made him feel anxious, neglected, and panicked.

Jimin lurched forward suddenly, throwing up all over the concrete. The smell stung nostrils and burnt his eyes and throat. The same stranger's hand rubbed his back, whispering the reassuring words that he needed at that moment.

He was sat down on something comfortable and smooth, leather perhaps?

They were moving? Moving where?

His words came out slurred as he tried to figure out what was going on. His brain wasn't processing the words as fast as he would be if he were sober.

But he felt safe. If it were anyone else he would have fought them right there on the streets.

No two scents ever smelt the same. This one smelt familiar... Maybe it was someone he knew from Bighit?

Jimin didn't have much more time to ponder on it for he passed out before he could hear the response.

He pulled up to the apartment at about one in the morning.

He went over to the passenger side of the car to pick up the frail Omega.

You barely ever saw Park Jimin getting drunk. Unless it was at a company sponsored event or something of the sort Jimin drinking was a rarity.

What had happened to the younger that made him break character in this manner?

He piggybacked him to the elevator, humming a song under his breath.

He noticed the sudden change in Jimin's behavior, how he went from scared and ready to fight to calm and comfortable. It was a complete paradigm shift from before.

The elevator dinged and he swiped his keycard to his apartment.

He undressed the idol, running a warm bath for him. His clothes were a little big, but Jimin liked clothes like that. He was commonly seen out and about wearing clothes similar to the ones in his wardrobe.

After washing Jimin up in the warm bath, he carefully dried him off and put him in clean clothes and in the clean guest room.

Jimin mumbled while he was being jostled around, "Thank you... Yoongi..."

His breath hitched in his throat as he rubbed his temples, "Kim Namjoon what the hell did you just get yourself into..."

"You were like charming champagne
Even if I regretted tomorrow, I wanted to be drunk
So nothing exists that is just sweet
My greed has created
Bitter chocolate of love" -
