Chapter Six: Gentleman

"Ooh eeh ooh, he's the one I like
A soft-hearted gentleman, his sweet words too
Ooh eeh ooh, He's my type
Manly gentleman, his awkward words
Make me want to know him more" Gentleman (ft. eSNa) by MAMAMOO, 2014

Once they left the restaurant, Jimin began taking the long way around, wanting to show Namjoon some places he hoped he had never seen.

"And here, you can take this trail up to the hills and have a picnic or something!" Jimin said, on the verge of turning into the trail and taking Namjoon up there himself. He held himself back though, he didn't have something like a blanket or a large cloth for them to sit on.

Jimin decided screw it though, who would it possibly hurt? It hadn't rained for a few days so there was no way the ground could have been affected.

Jimin parked the car, hopping out and forcing Namjoon to go after him. Jimin ran close to the fence near the edge. There was a fence to keep picnic-goers or just everyday people falling to their death and Jimin looked over the view of Seoul.

"Isn't it beautiful Namjoon? I love this place so much... It makes me feel so calm and at peace."

Namjoon stood next to him, a satisfactory look on his face.

"Yeah, it's very beautiful..." Namjoon said, looking at the city in front of them.

"Have any more inferences to make on lives for me?" Jimin asked, looking at the small shadows.

Namjoon shook his head, "Nah, that was a one-time thing, Jiminie. It was all a set-up I came up with on the fly just to put that flower in your hair," Namjoon replied, looking over the city.

He could have thought or said it over and over again, but he was never going to get the thought out of his mind. Seoul was beautiful at night.

Namjoon kept trying to carry on a conversation with Jimin, but the younger seemed to be in his own little world.

"This would make a perfect date location..." Jimin thought to himself as he traced a finger over the slightly worn fence, "This would have been the perfect spot..."

Namjoon placed a hand over his shoulder, a comforting smile on his face, "Don't look so down, ok? As I said, you can come to one of my late-night sessions."

Jimin grinned back, Namjoon having the amazing power of being able to make Jimin smile...

After about 15 minutes of staring outwards into the city, Jimin began to look up at the sky, squinting. The stars were beginning to disappear behind some clouds that had begun to roll in.

"Ok, I think it's about time we got moving."

They were just beginning to enter the freeway when the first of many rain droplets began to fall onto the car's front.

Jimin groaned, "Aish... If the rain gets worse from here on out, then we're in trouble..."

Jimin hated trying to drive in this type of weather. It was the absolute type of weather to drive in. Rain was the type of weather you enjoyed from the comfort of your home with a book, movie, a hot drink, some music, and maybe a loved one... Jimin only had a couple of those things, but he wished he could share his love of the rain with someone else.

"You know, rain used to never be my favorite type of weather as a child. But now that I'm older, a little wiser and a little more mature... I can appreciate the rain a lot more."

Jimin raised his eyebrows at him in surprise as they drove down the backed-up freeway.

"Why is that?"

"Because it reminds me that sometimes, us as idols, we need a break too. When it rains, no one seems to be paying attention to us and we can hide easier. Everything moves to fast when you're living this lifestyle, you know?"

Jimin nods as they made a U-turn, "Yeah, I get it. Sometimes I feel like everything moves too fast. I like to savor moments like these because of their calmness, because of how humbling the rain makes me feel."

"I feel less lonely in the rain... Because you know how little kids say that the sky is crying? I like to think that way, so I feel less alone when it's raining. The rain seems to change my mood in ways I can't explain. It makes me feel relaxed one moment, emotional the next like it's trying to get me to realize something, but I don't know what it is," Namjoon said. "Ah, these conversations are probably confusing you, huh? I should stop..."

"No, keep going!" Jimin said, urging Namjoon to continue, "It's good to get things like this off your chest. I wish I could say the same."

"You should say something then," Namjoon said.

Jimin sighed as he finally located their exit.

"I guess you could say it's kind of like what you said to me? I feel a little less alone... I don't feel like I'm under someone's microscopic gaze all the time. I don't feel like that with one wrong move it will all be over... An idols career can be gone in an instant and I'm scared that if I make the smallest misstep, like a forgotten move in choreography or a voice crack, I feel I've let everyone down.

"No one cares about an idol walking the streets when it's raining... They're too focused on not getting drenched or missing the transit home. Some people become more selfish in the rain and I guess you could say it's human nature."

Namjoon made a small noise of agreement, "Yeah I hear you..."
The rest of the ride was completely silent save for the noises of the car and the harsh "pitter patter" of the rain.
Jimin pulled into the little loop of Namjoon's apartment, letting him out at the door.

"Want to wait out the rain with me?"
Jimin couldn't find it in him to say no.

They eventually ended up on Namjoon's bed, Namjoon's laptop playing an anime movie they had randomly picked out. It was about a girl and a guy that switches bodies when they go to sleep and apparently, they were soulmates and traveled through time just to see each other.

The plot for this movie was a little cliché with the entire "star-crossed lovers" thing, (No seriously, a comet broke apart and destroyed the main female protagonists home and they were looking up at the same comet), but Jimin honestly didn't care. The movie was good and made him cry a good couple of times.

Namjoon had even asked him if he was crying and prompted him to cry over the movie.

The rain had calmed down once the movie was over and Jimin sighed, getting up from the bed.

"Looks like it's about time I get going, yeah? The rains calmed down..."

Namjoon drew back the curtains to see the moon beginning to peek back down at them, "Yeah, I guess it has."

Jimin crawled back on the bed, staring out the window and up at the moon and the stars. His eyes seemed to twinkle like the stars beginning to appear in the sky to Namjoon.

He brushed his slightly ruffled hair out of Jimin's face. He was wearing contacts; how did he not notice?

"Your eyes are a different color today... Did you do that just for our da- Outing?"

Jimin blushed, brushing some more of his hair back as he ignored Namjoon's slip up, "I thought I should look a little different outside of my usual idol attire. Even though contacts are the standard, I got a little curious."

He turned to Namjoon, making sure he could see both of his eyes. They were a deep green contact, a contrast from his usual brown shaded eyes or those blue contacts he wore a few times.

"Yeah, I think I like this shade on you," Namjoon said, "It's compliments the brown hair well and makes your eyes stand out more."

Jimin grinned, his eyes being hidden by his cheeks, much to Namjoon's dismay, "I'll be sure to wear it more often then."

Namjoon's dimples began to pop out as they talked more, Jimin just had to poke them. He couldn't help himself!

Namjoon's smile only widened, Jimin's finger sinking deeper into the dimple.

"Oh wow..." Jimin said softly caressing Namjoon's cheek.

His skin was so soft it was unbelievable. Jimin would even dare say it was softer than his own as he had been told numerous times. He wondered how Namjoon would look in makeup...

"Jimin?"

Jimin snapped out of his days and quickly retracted his finger, "Sorry!"
Namjoon hugged him, "You're honestly the cutest."

Namjoon didn't know what it was about the younger idol. Something about his small little habits (such as looking away from Namjoon when being spoken to and hiding his hands in his sweater and stuttering while he spoke) made his heart flutter. The young Omega smelled of strawberries and vanilla which only added to his effortlessly cute looks and warm, welcoming personality.

Jimin was thinking similar thoughts. Namjoon's dimples were so cute, he seemed like such a dorky giant that sometimes you just wanted to keep in your pocket sometimes. At one point, Namjoon was the leader of a boy group and he led the group through a lot until they disbanded due to money issues with the company. Jimin respected him so much just for that aspect of him alone.

A few more beats of silence passed, and they were both kissing until the moonlight. The moment felt fitting and right.

Neither of them regretted the kiss as they looked at each other afterward with flushed cheeks. The silence was only broke when Namjoon began to speak.

"So, when's our next date?"

"He's the first to notice if I change my hair
He is sensitive just like my type
I pretend not to care but try to follow him
Without knowing, he's the one I chose" - Gentleman (ft. eSNa) by MAMAMOO, 2014
