Chapter Five: So, please kiss me, please kiss me

Jimin woke up earlier than anticipated on the day of he and Namjoon's outing. It was practically an unofficial date, but no one wanted to call it that. Besides, Jimin mostly just wanted to pay Namjoon back for the spoiled brunch the other day.
Jimin was eating the brunch from yesterday, a small grin on his face as he got to appreciate what he was going to have yesterday.
Jimin threw away his paper plate and went to the shower. They weren't leaving until around 5:00 when it began getting too dark out. But Jimin wanted to see Seoul at night, so they compromised to eat at a restaurant with a view and then Namjoon had a surprise of his own.
In all honesty, Jimin should ask to work on some more tracks with Namjoon while they were on their outing. Namjoon had recently released a new project, 'Mono', and he was dying to take a listen.
Jimin was debating on giving Namjoon his clothes back, but he kept them where they were and put on something that was his. A simple black sweater and a white t-shirt would do. He put on some black jeans and a pair of black boots. He was debating on putting his contacts or glasses on, but he realized he was out of contacts to put on so he was forced to put on his glasses.
He wasn't going to bother with styling his hair, but maybe some light makeup and a facemask would do him some good. Besides, it'd match with his outfit.
Jimin chided himself in his head over how seriously he was taking this, but it was an outing with Kim Namjoon! He had made a reservation in one of the best restaurants in town with a view to ensure they would both have a good time!
He wondered what Namjoon was planning...

In short, Namjoon was losing his shit.
He knew that they had both agreed on an outing, well more like Jimin insisted and Namjoon thought he was too cute to disagree with, but now he was slightly regretting taking it on a whim because of his work.
While he had just released an album not under Bighit, there were a lot of offers in his inbox for appearances and stuff he hadn't gotten to yet.
But then again, Jimin was way too adorable and enthusiastic about taking Namjoon out to make up for their brunch. He couldn't bring himself to turn him down no matter how much he could have. Besides, the smile on his face-
Holy shit, Namjoon was SO whipped for him-
Namjoon sat in front of his laptop. He had about two hours until Jimin was supposed to pick him up to go on their outing. He might as well get all of this out the way right now and then slap together a casual outing outfit later.

Jimin didn't drive often, but for Namjoon he would. Most idols didn't drive for fear of being followed around by sasaengs or getting their car vandalized and or stolen by antis. But Jimin mostly went out in his car for late night cruises through downtown Seoul. Seoul was a lot quieter at night than it was in the day.
Seoul was lit up so beautifully at night, and at night when the world almost stood still, you can see why Seoul sounds like "Soul".
Jimin drove a sleek, black, Mercedes AMG GLC, custom made to suit his style of course. Jimin was a perfectionist and wanted things (design-wise of course) to go his way. He paid for all of it in cash just because he wanted to.
Jimin texted Namjoon that he was on his way. Namjoon had sent him his address earlier so Jimin wouldn't have any trouble getting there.
It was about 25 minutes away with light traffic, then they could be on to their destination. Jimin was almost caught speeding on the freeway a couple times from his excitement.
He was listening to Mono in the car, coming to the conclusion that Seoul and Forever Rain were his favorite songs on the album.
Eventually, Jimin pulled up to Namjoon's apartment complex, hopping out of the car and walking into the lobby. He sat in one of the chairs while he shot Namjoon an, "I'm here", text.
Meanwhile, Namjoon was having a crisis. He was barely dressed and he didn't even have a solid outfit planned. He shouldn't have put it off to deal with work!
Now Namjoon was in a scramble trying to find a nice outfit. Even if they agreed it was a friendly outing, he still wanted to look nice! Most likely, the media would be stalking the pair while they were out and trying to get photos of them.
Namjoon checked his phone and saw he got the "I'm here" text almost 14 minutes ago. Jimin hated when people were late to engagements whether they were with him or not. Jimin was rarely known to be late, and when he was he always made sure to call in ahead of time so they could work something out.
Namjoon finally just decided to wing it and dress up in a yellow hoodie he knew Jimin was a fan of when he had worn it last, a white t-shirt, a white pair of gym shoes and comfortable, but still sort of casual pants.
Namjoon didn't even bother with the elevator, opting to run down the stairs instead. He didn't have the time to wait on other people while the elevator was running.
"Sorry, I'm late-"
Jimin looked up at him from his cell phone and grinned, "You lost track of time, didn't you?"
Namjoon sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck with one hand in his pocket, "Guilty as charged."
Jimin got up and smoothed his clothes, "I thought so."
They walked down to the parking lot where JImin's car was. They climbed in and drove off.
"I can't wait to see what you planned, Jimin. You said we were going somewhere very special."
Jimin nodded, making a left turn and honking his horn, "TURN ON YOUR TURNING SIGNALS YOU FUKING ASSHOLE!!"
Namjoon flinched at the sheer volume in Jimin's voice. Jimin was never really one to be upset, but now that he thought about it, he had to have some type of stress reliever or something. He must have lots of pent-up anger since no one, NO ONE can be that nice all the time. He seemed like the type to be a great driver, but have awful road rage.
Jimin sighed, pulling over and slamming his head on the wheel, "Fucking dickhead... Not turning on his fucking turning lights... What a fucking BITCH-"
Namjoon found it kind of amusing how Jimin was so angry about being cut off in the middle of the road. He seemed so cute and pure on the surface, but he has a little bit of an angry side.
"I'm sorry you had to see me like that, Namjoon... I hate it when dickheads on the road don't know how to drive! This is one of the reasons I don't go out and drive by myself! It's awful!" Jimin said, pulling back onto the red.
"It's ok, Jimin. The best part of getting to know each other is discovering each other's weird quirks right?"
Jimin linked but grinned at him, his mood clearing up almost instantly, "Yeah, Yeah I guess you're right."
They drove for a couple hours more before arriving at their destination.
"I don't go out much and when I do I get swarmed. Good thing I remembered to bring masks and sunglasses for us!"
Namjoon took the black mask and sunglasses so his entire face was covered. And Jimin did the same thing as they walked into the restaurant. Namjoon picked up a small white flower from the tree outside. He decided it was too pretty for it to just hang there.
"Reservation under Park Jimin?" Jimin asked in a low tone so nearby customers and employees wouldn't hear. He didn't want to be found out so early in their outing.
"Hmmm... Ah yes! Right this way sir!"
They were led up the elevator to the roof eatery, where they could look up, down, and around Seoul as much as they liked.
"Your server will be with you in just a moment!"
It was around 5 o' clock now, the street and building lights beginning to light up the city as the cars drow by underneath them.
Namjon had always looked at Seoul in the day, but he could never find the time to find appreciation for it in the night. Even when he was flying above in a plain, never had he had a marvelous view such as this.
He kept staring, finding something new to look at each time the room did its rounds above Seoul.
Jimin admired him while he was supposed to be looking at the menu. Honestly, they both were a little distracted when they were ordering as well. He was glad he was able to keep Namjoon engaged in the constant spinning of the room while they waited on the food.
So for about 20 minutes, it was Jimin staring at Namjoon staring at Seoul below and around him.
"This restaurant is so beautiful Jimin, where did you find it?"
"I went on a nice, long search through the internet. I thought it would fit your tastes since you really like looking into things in depth, you know? Because you looked so focused before you turned back around to me."
"Yeah..." Namjoon said sheepishly, "I really like finding hidden meanings in the things around us or things that we thought we knew were actually a lot more different than we thought. Every time the room had spun to another part of the same Seoul, I noticed something new."
Namjoon pointed downwards so Jimin could see his point, "There was an injured man on the ground just now. Now..." his finger moved up the street so Jimin could follow, "Someone helped him up."
Jimin didn't understand how he could have possibly seen all of that, but he was extremely interested.
"And there was just a group of females taking pictures of each other under the trees. I wonder what type of shots they were trying to get. Dramatic shots? Something more whimsical? Or maybe something calmer?"
Jimin found himself extremely invested in Namjoon's storytelling as he pointed out things on the streets and in buildings across the way. It brought him back down to Earth even if he felt he was a million miles up in the sky
Their food finally came and they spoke some more about leaving things up to interpretation. Wondering how peoples lives were different but also the same as his was a humbling feeling. They ate and had a conversation.
Even if Namjoon was making all of these up in his head, they seemed so real to him when he looked at the city down below.
Namjoon seized this moment and pointed down to a woman on a bench, "You see her? I think she might have just lost something special to her based on her body language."
Jimin nodded, "Yeah, she looks devastated."
"But do you see him?" a man ran up to the woman, handing her a bouquet of flowers. "I think everyone needs a little bit of pick me up in their lives. And that includes you, Jimin."
Jimin was in the middle of a "huh?" of his own when Namjoon pulled out the white flower from earlier to place in Jimin's hair.
"Will you let me be your pick me up, Jimin?"
Jimin couldn't find it in him to say no as Namjoon put the flower in his hair.
