The room was still as Namjoon stared at Jimin's hands over his abdomen, "W-What?"

Jimin didn't want to say it again, he wanted to play it off like he was just getting chubby, but he knew Namjoon had heard him...

"I'm pregnant, Joonie. We're going to have pups..."

Jimin rubbed his mating mark anxiously, awaiting Namjoon's response. It was just too damn quiet, and he didn't like it. It was making his mating mark tingle in anxiety

"Please Namjoon... Please say something..."

"I knew it."

Jimin looked up at him in shock, "Huh?"

"Your scent. It's been a bit different since we walked in and it's been bugging me since I got here. Now it all makes sense Jimin!"

Jimin almost hit him on the shoulder, "Why didn't you tell me you knew earlier?! That would have saved me a lot of stress!"

"I wanted to hear it from you first. I didn't just want to assume," Namjoon said albeit in a very blunt tone. "I at first thought it was maybe a new fragrance or a new air freshener you were trying out, but no. You're pregnant."

Jimin looked down, feeling guiltier by bringing Namjoon into this by the second. It's not like he was ashamed, he was just scared of what Namjoon thought. It was kind of an "In the heat of the moment" choice they had made after all. He didn't regret it, but he didn't know if Namjoon did.

"I'm only a month along... I didn't want to tell you because I thought it'd be a burden... I didn't want to be a burden..."

Namjoon's face softened, "Baby..."

Namjoon held his hands, "You'll never be a burden, baby. I was really worried about you avoiding me all of a sudden. I thought I had done something wrong and this was your way of breaking up with me."

Jimin gasped at the thought, "No! I'd never want to break up with you Joonie! I'd have to end my career before I even think about breaking up with you!" Jimin felt Namjoon squeeze his hands in reassurance, "And considering how idol life has been going for me right now... I don't think any other company would take me at this point."

Namjoon raised a brow, "You're Park Jimin! Winner of multiple daesang awards, many albums, and collaborations under your belt, and some other work you've done on the side! How could they not want to take an idol like you under their label?"

Jimin sighed, "Because of the baby... It takes away some of my desirability as an idol if people find out that I've been taken by another and that they've given me a child too. In western audiences, most people would welcome a dating scandal or two because that market has a little bit more freedom given to certain people... But for others, it's not the same. Fans will threaten your livelihood here... They'll threaten to kill you, threaten to make your life a living hell," Jimin shivered at the mere thought of it, "Remember Choi Jae-Hwa from a few years back?"

Namjoon nodded, "Yeah, that famous actor? She had such a prosperous career... It's a shame what happened to her."

Choi Jae-hwa... She was a rising star in the acting industry, landing herself in many A-List roles that prompted her career forwards. She had won many awards for her acting. She kept doing her best to perfect her craft and stay true to herself.

She was a kind woman, constantly donating to charities and organizations she felt passionate about with money she earned from the roles she took. She interacted with fans often through various social media. She did modeling and even sang for other dramas and movies she was in. She was the definition of the perfect package. A little too perfect if you asked anyone who worked with her.

One day everything began to fall apart for her.

She was accused of assault by her Omega girlfriend. The fact that no one knew she had a girlfriend in the first place was the icing on the already fucked up cake. Korean fan culture or just Koreans, in general, weren't very accepting of LGBT+ couples.

The trials went on for months, more and more accusations came out, and fans began to turn against her. The trials reached other countries where her career was also successful and even her international audiences turned on her. The fact that she was an Omega with an Omega made it worse. Most Omegas in the entertainment industry turned on her, knowing how hard it was for Omegas to be accepted in this harsh industry predominantly run by Alphas and Betas. They felt she had set back years and years of progress for Omega kind with her actions.

She had already been proclaimed guilty without even the thought of her being innocent.

She pleaded innocent, but not even that could save her. There was too much evidence stacked up against her to prove her innocence. Eventually, she was convicted, fined, and jailed. The entire world minus the few that supported her rejoiced. She was stripped of any awards won among other things.

She had lost everything, and she killed herself after her second year in prison. The world rejoiced once more saying that scum like her deserved it. Even the ex-girlfriend shed a few tears, but people pitied her.

About two years later, some photos of the ex-girlfriend were leaked. She was with a man released from jail mere months earlier for sexual assault and battery. The media didn't understand why she would be with a man known for some of the things her ex was infamously accused and convicted of by her hand?

About a year later, her ex-girlfriend was caught admitting that everything she said was false. She had paid people to slander her name and place fake evidence at crime scenes, and the rest just fell into place. The bruises and physical evidence on her body were inflicted upon her by another person, but she made sure she was smeared with Jaehwa's DNA. She had stolen multiple things from Jaehwa and made sure to rehearse the stories with the people she paid.

The world went wild once the videos of her confession were leaked to media outlets. The ex-girlfriend and witnesses went into hiding afterward. The awards were returned to Jaehwa's remaining family and her grave was placed in a much nicer area. Months later, the witnesses to the case were found, but they had all been found dead in an apartment. The police were called after multiple people came to complain about the loud banging noises.

The ex-girlfriend was found days later, pronounced brain dead after allegedly being shoved off a building. With some influence from a third party, the plug was pulled mere hours later. The world mourned as they realized they destroyed one of the purest stars in the industry.

"It wasn't her fault... She just so happened to be surrounded by a lot of shit people that wanted a grab at her fame. It's hard to find stars like her..."

Jimin covered his bump with protective hands, "I know that if it gets out that I'm holding your pups or that you're dating me, I'll be the one getting attacked for it. Not you. I don't want you to get tired of me because of the child."

"Jimin..."

"Her whole life was turned into shambles because of some shit people... And I don't want us to turn into that. I want to keep this baby safe for as long as I possibly can," Jimin looked up at Namjoon, his eyes glassy with unshed tears.

He remembered all the bad press he got early in his career during the Choi Jaehwa case for supporting her. He was seen all over showing his support for Choi Jaehwa. He attended all the trials even though some days he had a schedule to attend. He got lots of shit for supporting an alleged domestic assaulter amongst other things.

He knew that she was innocent. And she ended up being innocent after those confessions were leaked.

Jimin remembered her face when she was proclaimed guilty in court, the smug look on the prosecutor's face when he won the case. Jaehwa looked defeated when she walked into court during each day in court, but that day she just looked crushed when the judge handed down that guilty verdict.

"I-I barely even knew her! I wanted to save her... I knew she was innocent Joonie!"

Jimin covered his eyes as the tears began to fall. He didn't know how he managed to get as big as he was in this industry with his unwavering support of Choi Jaehwa. Practically everyone had canceled the young actress at this point, so it was understandable that some of his anti-fans tried to bring the same wave upon him.

"She didn't deserve to die so young! She didn't deserve to kill herself!"

Namjoon brought the crying Omega into his arms, "You know I'd never let that happen to you. You're my mate, my Omega, and the love of my life. Through hell or high water, I would do everything in my power to ensure your safety, Jimin."

Namjoon didn't care that Namjoon's shirt was getting all wet from Jimin's tears. Jimin was hormonal and even so, this was a sensitive topic for him. Namjoon placed a small kiss on Jimin's bump before holding Jimin in his arms again. They were going to be ok...

"She-She didn't deserve it..."

'What do you want to be Jaehwa-noona?'

'I wanna be an actress, Minnie! I'm gonna show the whole world what I can do, just wait!'

"She didn't..."

'Bye, Jiminie! Make sure to look out for me on the big screen, ok?!'

'I'll buy the ticket for your first film!'

Jimin whimpered pathetically, wiping his eyes.

"I know she'd never hurt someone! She would never do anything like that and put her dream at risk! She worked so hard to make her dream come true and it was ripped away from her by a selfish bitch and her lackeys!"

Namjoon nodded, "I know, but you have to put the past behind you...Hopefully, she's in a much better place now putting on all the films she can for the people up in heaven."

Jimin rubbed his eyes, "Yeah, Yeah you're right... Sorry about the shirt..."

Namjoon shook his head, "It's no problem, baby boy. Nothing a good wash can't fix after all."

Jimin has said it many times, but Namjoon keeps making him want to say it more and more.

"You're too good for me, Namjoon..."

"Please, if I were too good for you I would still be here. You're good enough, babe and that's all that matters."

Jimin hugged him the best he could without forcing his bump into it, "I love you so much, Namjoon... Please don't ever forget that I love you."

"I promise."

"Even when I shut down and I distance myself because I think you'll think negatively of me... I'll still love you. Will you still love me?"

"Of course, I'll still love you baby."

Jimin held him closer, Namjoon's body around him like a protective shell to keep all the bad things from coming in.

"Because you love me... And I love you..." Jimin said softly, placing a hand on his bump again, "Because you love me and I love you, this child is here... And we will protect them even if it means sacrificing it all."

Namjoon placed both hands on the bump with a small nod of his head, "Whatever it takes."
