Chapter Eight: Exploding in my head

"Me inside your busy eyes (woo)

A faster beating

Namjoon and Jimin went on even more dates to more discreet locations. Now that it was confirmed Jimin was working on a new project, the media was looking for anything they could. To get some extra information out of the young idol about his new album.

Currently, Jimin was holed up in Namjoon's studio, working on some lyrics on the couch behind Namjoon.

This was a pretty mutually beneficial relationship. Jimin got to be in Namjoon's presence and do work and Namjoon got to be by his baby boy and guide him through this process until it was perfect.

"Hey, Namjoon? Do you think that the line, 'your red lips reminds me of cherries, sometimes they're sweet, sometimes they're cold' needs to be changed to something else?"

Jimin was working on a ballad. He had been scouring twitter for hours, seeing what fans were hoping for on the new album.

'Since Jimin is with a new label, I'm hoping that Jimin releases something that showcases more of his vocal talents. Like a slow ballad reminiscent of 'Secret' from his first EP!'

Jimin was thinking he should take a page from Taemin's book. His song 'Flame of Love' from his most recent album, was exactly the type of sound he was looking for. He wasn't trying to replicate it, but he wanted to create a song fitting for his contemporary dance background.

"Yeah, I believe that line could use a little bit of tweaking. How about not directly referencing to the cherries as the lips? How about you refer to them as a type of day?"

Jimin leaned back into the couch, humming softly to the melody.

"I watch you through cold eyes during the warmest days... When did the winter winds come to keep us apart? You say that you miss me, but I see no sincerity at all... No not all..."

Jimin flipped the page and began to revise the next line, "Your lips are red with a cool exterior... On a windy day, we turn into ice, and on a hot day we turn into tears, but around us life goes on."

Namjoon made a noise of approval, "Spoken like a true sufferer of sorrow."

Jimin smiled as he continued to write the lyrics, "Ok, I think I like how this first verse came out... Now to write the chorus..."

Jimin had emailed Namjoon the song he was writing to a little while back. Jimin had produced this one himself with some influence from a K-Drama actor, Kim Seokjin. Jimin noticed that a lot of the OST's Kim Seokjin had sung for had lots of classical instruments, such as pianos or violins. And the single that he released to headline one of the dramas he was releasing? It had Kim Seokjin all over it. Wonderful vocals, a classic instrumental, and most importantly, a powerful high note cherry on top of the already perfect cake.

Namjoon listened to it, making the necessary changes as he listened to Jimin's lyrics.

"Alright, Jimin! Get in the booth, ok?"

Jimin got up and wrapped his arms around Namjoon with a smile, "Why don't you look over my lyrics just ONE more time? This needs to be perfect!"

Namjoon pecked Jimin on the head before taking his lips in his own, "I think it's perfect enough, baby b-"

"Hey, Namjoon? Where are those headphones I let you borrow?"

It was awkward seeing Yoongi again after a while. They just stared at each other before looking away.

Namjoon felt awkward being right in the middle of this tension. It was obvious both of them had some tension that never really got resolved. Namjoon handed Yoongi his headphones and tried not to crack an awkward smile.

"Hey, Jimin," Yoongi said, finally deciding to acknowledge Jimin's presence in Namjoon's arms, "Good to see you're doing well."

"Yeah... You too. How's Hoseok doing?"

Yoongi was speechless at the question, "Ummm... Good? Why do you ask?"

"No reason... I'm getting in the booth, tell me when you're ready, Namjoon."

Namjoon made a small face but went over to the equipment to start the song. Jimin's voice had done a complete 360 degree turn from what it had been earlier. It sounded a lot more bitter and cold.

"I'll get going."

Jimin let out a huge sigh of relief when Yoongi finally left them alone. He wasn't expecting for Yoongi to walk in such a soft moment.

"Don't worry about Yoongi, Jimin. Hopefully, next time he'll knock."

"It's ok, Namjoon. I'm ok..."

Namjoon kissed him, sighing softly, "It's ok, baby boy. I'll take care of you..."

Hours later, they finally finished the recording, Jimin forcing Namjoon to go in again and again to get the recording just right. He didn't know what it was, maybe it was Yoongi's unexpected drop-in, but it ignited a sense of stress and uncertainty within him. He couldn't rest until he got this just right, he knew that for sure.

"Ok, baby boy. I'm gonna get you something to drink before your voice goes out. Just stay here for me while I go get it.

Jimin took off the headphones, rubbing his temples in exhaustion. This was most likely his fault, but he felt like Namjoon was doubting his feelings. Or maybe he was doubting Namjoon?

Jimin leaned back in the stool, falling to the ground with a yell.

He wasn't thinking straight. He opened his phone and started looking through the pictures from he and Namjoon's dates. Namjoon always took the best pictures and when they were out by a river and some rocks, Namjoon looked like something straight out of a painting.

He looked so ethereal crouched over by the water with his fingers in the river. Namjoon just looked so natural in the nature.

"Jimin?"

Yoongi was standing on the other side of the glass. Jimin almost scowled at his mere presence, but got up.

"What do you want?"

"I want to talk."

Jimin crossed his arms, "Namjoon is expecting me. Just come in here and then we can talk it out."

Jimin sat back on the stool, his arms crossed as they looked at each other.

"I came to... apologize."

Jimin raised a suspicious brow at him, "Oh? Min Yoongi apologizing to me? Unheard of!"

It was true. After things started going south between the two, Yoongi had a knack for doing things that pissed Jimin off and not apologizing for it. Such as standing him up on dates or other things the Omega dared not mention out of pure spite. He'd rather suppress those memories as far as possible.

"Yeah, I know I've fucked up... But I want to apologize for it."

Yoongi held Jimin's hands, looking at him with a little bit of hope, Jimin looked back at him with a confused look covering his intended look of disgust.

"I'm sorry for everything. From standing you up on dates to forgetting our anniversary while I was hanging out with Hoseok..." Jimin almost ripped his hands from Yoongi's just to slap him, but he resisted, "I'm sorry, but would you ever take me ba-."

This time, Jimin really did slap him, a familiar burning behind his eyes, "You think a simple sorry will make things better, Yoongi?"

Three months ago, sure Jimin would have taken Yoongi back in a heartbeat, but things were different now. He had Namjoon, someone who treated him like he was the apple of his eyes, the prince to his kingdom, the brightest star in his galaxy... He wasn't going back to Yoongi, not when it hurt him so much when he was.

"You-You didn't just stand me up on dates! Standing me up on dates didn't really fucking matter in the long run compared to everything else you did! You forgot our anniversary and you-you ignored my calls and texts and then when you finally answered you gave me such a shit excuse! Hoseok this and Hoseok that... And then you yelled at me for blowing up your phone one night when I... I was in HEAT, Yoongi! Something could have seriously happened to me while you were out doing god knows fucking what and you didn't even care!"

Jimin's face was puffy and red in anger, his fists balled up as he stared directly into Yoongi's soul. They eyes were the window to the soul and Jimin thought he would slap Yoongi again if he looked at him for any longer.

"Go away. I don't want to talk to you. Fuck off."

"Jiminieee! I didn't know if you wanted apple juice, orange juice, or lemonade so I just got all three!" Namjoon yelled, walking in on another awkward scene.

Jimin grinned at Namjoon, "Thank you, Nammie. I like them all so we can just pick from the three and we'll have one left over!"

Jimin glared at Yoongi, exiting the booth, "Hold on, Yoongi. I still have something to say."

Yoongi followed Jimin out and Yoongi closed the door behind them.

"I'm together with Namjoon now. I have him and you have Hoseok. It should be worth it since you practically alienated yourself from our own home.

"Who knew you were the type to move on so quickly. Are you thinking about mating with him soon? Having him claim you as yours? Do you think you're ready for that?"

Jimin glowered at him, "I haven't thought about all that other shit yet. What does it matter to you? You're together with Hoseok aren't you? I don't see why you would be crawling your sorry ass back to me after you were the one who ended it all."

"We aren't together anymore. He found out that I left you for him and was super pissed."

'As he should,' Jimin thought, his inner Omega swelling with a smug pride.

"And so we broke off our relationship. Hoseok is off on his own, so I thought that I should come to you..."

Jimin scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest, "Suck my dick, Min Yoongi. Hoseok deserved better than you anyway. I could never hold him responsible for what happened since we never told him we were together, but I bet he put two and two together, didn't he?"

Yoongi stared down in shame, "Yeah, and that only made him angrier once he realized I was cheating. And me trying to beg him to come back didn't change anything between us."

"And I don't blame him. I would have left you sooner if I wasn't so blind to the obvious. It's pathetic how smitten I was with you back then, but that ignorant me is no longer."

"And I understand... Sorry for coming in tonight. I should get going."

"Please don't ask me to be in a relationship with you again. I would have accepted it long ago, but I won't anymore."

"Goodnight, Jimin..."

"Goodnight, Yoongi."

"Namjoon, let's go home."

Namjoon took the headphones off his head, "I thought you wanted to get one more recording done to send to the producers?"

Jimin shook his head, "I think this one is best. Let's send it to them and cuddle at your place, ok?"

Namjoon nodded, turning back to his laptop, "Ok, Jimin. Whatever my prince desires."

Jimin blushed and his cheeks puffed up a little as he fought the instinct to smile at the nickname.

They walked out hand-in-hand and Jimin could almost feel Yoongi's envious eyes on his back. Jimin honestly couldn't care at this point. Just like Yoongi's eyes on his back, he was leaving this entire thing behind him. He had Namjoon walking side by side with him, what else could he want.

Although Yoongi had raised up a good question... Was he ready to let Namjoon claim him if they were ready?

"Inside your heart right now

Making my head dizzy

So beautifully

It would explode so sweet
