Chapter Five: Pathetic (Encounter p.1)
It was done. Hagakure 'Invisible Girl' and Rikido 'Sugarman' had been killed. Each murdered brutally in a way they least expected it, except they did. Perhaps not the exact methods used, but they were very well aware that they were weaker heroes and therefore effortless targets for their former friends. That did not in any way mean they were any less mortified when they passed away. Just picture, being forced to your last breath by those whom you have once cherished not so long ago.
The four met up an old rendezvous point across town from the murders. Todoroki's and (Y/n)'s job had gone without a hitch, but a passerby had called the cops (and basically heroes) on Kirishima and Bakugou. They had in no way gotten caught, but they ended up needing to split up in the crossfire. The hero they chose for the job was sloppy. It was the hero 'Pinky,' or Mina Ashido. She had seen them, what they had done to Rikido, and she knew she was inferior.
Two people that had once been dear friends to her were now picking off her comrades. At this point, the heroes felt that their associates were dropping like flies. First Present Mic, then Mineta, Iida— it was too much. Mina couldn't help but think back to the times they had shared in the past. It was painful to think that they had once been what you would call "close" and "normal" and on good terms. It was heartbreaking, because no matter how much faith Mina 'Pinky' Ashido had in her former friends, she knew they were never going to be the same. They would never be the same.
They laughed...
"That was the best thing I've ever seen!"
"Yeah Bakugou, you should force Kaminari to blow a fuse more often!"
"You guys are terrible."
"Oh come on, you wouldn't be here with us if you weren't the same deep down in that icy heart of yours!"
"Haha! Wow, you guys are too much!"
"Ugh..."
"Don't be salty, Kaminari, even you chuckled at the video of you acting like a total idiot."
They cried...
"We'll get through this, Sero and Kirishima will be fine!"
"Yeah... definitely..."
"We can be strong for them, even if it hurts us."
"Yeah, they need us right now."
And then, they said "goodbye..."
"Hey Sero, where are the others?"
"I don't know... They didn't answer their dorms."
"Maybe Bakugou decided that he was tired of listening to (Y/n) and Todoroki talk about random crap..."
----------
"It's been a week..."
"Where are they..?"
"Guys... I... Mineta..."
"What about him?"
"He's dead..."
----------
"They left. They actually left."
"All four of them... just... just gone..."
"I can't believe they didn't even say goodbye..."
It hurt, so much, so so much. Seeing them, what they were, who they had become, the fact that it didn't bother them... But what hurt more, Ashido caught their eyes with her own. The eyes of her old friends were still there, so very strongly there- the exact same- and yet- they have that glow as villains, and without her. It was selfish of her to be upset that they had so effortlessly moved on... but... what else could she do?

Three of the four boys stood at their old rendezvous point, unsure of where the fourth addition to the Mayhem Squad is. (Y/n) and Todoroki had been the first to arrive, easily making their way there unnoticed after the murder of Hagakure. Bakugou was made it to the meeting spot not long afterward. He had taken back alleys and dark shortcuts to get there, trying not to be spotted. His appearance was attention grabbing, and his quirk even more so. That said he had to move quickly and quietly as to not be spotted. Kirishima, on the other hand, had yet to be seen.
"Where the fuck is Shitty-Hair?" Bakugou growled quietly, as to not gain attention from passersby.
"I don't know, idiot," (Y/n) scowled, "I wasn't his partner."
"That's a low blow, (Y/n)," Todoroki pointed out.
"Yeah, well I don't give a shit!" (Y/n) snarled, "I already had to worry about you and your idiot brother this morning. Now Eijiro is who the hell knows where and there are cops after him and Katsuki!"
"(Y/n) we need to focus, I'm sure he's fine, but we need to lay low for a while after this," Todoroki stated, "he'll get here eventually, and he knows the rules. We'll wait for two hours, after that he needs to touch base and skip here and go to the bar."
"We all know that Half'n-Half," Bakugou frowned.
It became quiet between the three. It was strange not having the redhead there with them. There was no one to lighten the mood, to cheer them up and on, and they were now lacking the defensive part of their attack strategy. That wasn't even mentioning that a good friend might not return to them tonight, and they would have to be ready to accept that. Not. No one gets left behind in this world. They aren't heroes, they don't have unlimited friends and comrades, and those they do have are cherished. God forbid Eijiro Kirishima got arrested, but when Bakugou said he wouldn't break Todoroki out of prison, he was telling the biggest lie of his life.

Kirishima bashed his rock-hard fist into Deku's jaw. It was so unlike Kirishima, but he couldn't help but scoff at the so called "Number One Hero," "All Might's Second," "The Symbol of Peace." Deku got back up, again, for the fiftieth time since they had crossed paths. Kirishima wasn't getting arrested tonight, he wasn't leaving his friends, his family tonight. Deku rushed at him, using his quirk to gain speed and strength. Yet, after all his effort, Deku was yet again sent to the ground.
"You're pathetic, you know that Midoriya?" Kirishima asked, squatting down to the hero who could stand no more, "here I am, the weakest member of Mayhem by far, beating the number one hero's ass as easy as a knife through butter."
"Shut... shut your dirty mouth... you scum," Midoriya muttered, then he choked on the blood wishing to curdle in his throat as Kirishima rammed his fist into the hero's lower back.
"You are so lucky that you crossed paths with me and not the others," Kirishima smiled- it was glowing, happy, it made Deku want to let his already broken guard down- and it was all too deceiving, "(Y/n), Katsuki, Shouto? Ha, they would have killed your pathetic ass."
"Yeah right... Todoroki is better than that..." Deku uttered, lying to himself.
"Oh, so you're an idiot too, huh?" Kirishima sighed, "I guess you haven't gotten wind yet, but Rikido and Hagakure are dead."
"What?" Deku choked, grief lacing his voice.
"Hint-hint stupid," Kirishima's smile dropped, and his eyes looked serious, "(Y/n) wouldn't waste his time on a weakling like her. And because he doesn't, Todoroki does the dirty work for him."
"No... that's a lie..." Deku mumbled in disbelief.
"I don't know whether you're telling yourself that because Shouto was your friend or because you loved (Y/n), dude," Kirishima told him as he hoisted the broken hero up, supporting him as he struggled to stand, "but I have no reason to lie. Everyone knows that we all have murdered people at this point, we have nothing to hide."
"Where the hell are you taking me?" Deku changed the subject.
"To an old acquaintance's house," Kirishima muttered, "we've been keeping up with you, and you haven't seen him in a while."
(That's all folks! I hope you enjoyed this portion of the story! I'll try to get the next chapter out ASAP! Anyway, make sure to tell me what you guys think of this! I feel like I rushed it, so I want you guys' feedback on this specific chapter. Also, just for the fun of it, what do you guys think will happen next? Make sure to comment what you predict will be going on after this! Is Kirishima a counterspy? Or maybe he's stronger than what meets the eye? Or maybe I'm just messing with you all? You won't know until the time comes!)
