Everybody was panic and confusing after watching the memory chip.

Some people yelled. Some people cried in fear. Some people showed their suspicions.

Who was I?

It was really a miracle that I could take over Joy's place at the same time that Hansol boosted her.

I killed her before she was boosted.

Now I was a robot with a human's soul.

Even though I don't have any memory before and forgot my objection to save the world but my instinct drove me to destroy The Paradise.

I was glad that I changed the terrible destinies of my close people unconsciously.

Now I took back my memory and it was the high time for me to fulfill my duty.

I went on the stage which was prepared for me.

In front of the chaos, I turned on the electric security wall. This wall could buy me enough time for my speech.

Man 1: "Look, it is the destructor"

Man 2: "Then the video is real"

Yeah, the presence of a character in the video will prove that the video was real. It was the true reason why I must appear to persuade them.

Woman 1: "Oh, the world end is real and she will kill us and our children"

Actually, a scientist successfully invented the crystal to block the virus rain. We put it in the center park. If we could mass-produce this kind of crystal and freeze the world before the rain, everybody will not affect the virus. No one will die.

It was okay if you don't believe and not enter the crystal cage because people could make medicine to cure that future disease anyway. However, please remember that when the medicine succeed, 2/3 population disappeared. In that 2/3 population, there might be your sons and your daughters too"

That was all I could do. I felt sorry that the percent could not increase to 100% as my promise.

Someone wanted to enter the stage to punch or kill me. I was not sure. All people were in their confusion and angry. It might be because that they saw corpses died by virus and killed by robots too. However, at this time, they could not enter because of the electric wall.

But then the wall became weaker.

A young man could set his feet on the stage. After him, several people could enter the stage too.

Man: "Take her"

Dell: "I am sorry for lying all of you, Jeff, Hansol, Mode and Syd"

Syd: "Stop it"

Then I realized that Syd was in that group too.

He suddenly knocked everyone off the stage. Then he poured the petroleum tank which he carried around the stage and lighted a fire.

The stage looked like an old cremation pyre to kill witches.

Dell: "Why are you here? It is dangerous"

He ignored my words.

Syd: "People, why did you want to kill her?"

Everyone could not pass the fire so they became more and more angry.

Man: "She was that robot. She will kill all of us"

Woman: "It was the guy in the video too. He fought against the robots"

Syd: "Please open your eyes, everyone. Looking at what this girl did so far, you still think she was just a cruel robot?"

Then he turned his eyes to me as if he was talking to me.

Syd: "She went a long way. Even coming this dangerous situation, she bet her life tell you the truth. She was ready to throw her life to warn all of you about a disaster. How can you kill her as if she was your enemy?"

He looked at the crowd through the fire.

Syd: "And if you believed the video, you must believe all of it. The girl who is standing in this stage now is not Joy – the destructor. That Joy has never appeared in this world at the first place. This girl is Dell. She has a human's soul. She has her feelings and she has never hurt anyone"

I felt tears dropping in my face.

Their minds wavered but...

Man 1: "Even you said that, how can you make sure that that Joy will not take over that robot body in the future?"

Man 2: "Yeah, if that Joy comes back, she could create a new paradise and kill us in the future"

Woman 1: "Yes. We could not let that situation happen"

Woman 2: "Better to kill by mistake than to miss"

I understood their thoughts. Even I could not confirm that my soul will survive in this robot body forever. It was safer to kill me to preventing the paradise's leader re-live.

But I was really grateful that Syd still stood by my side until this situation.

If only I could live more.

Syd: "Sure, you could live more"

He smirked to my surprise face.

Syd: "I can hear your voice from the beginning. Although you hid it, I still could hear your desperation voice that you want to live so I-"

He took out two metal necklaces from his pocket. He wore one and wore me the other.

Syd: "If she escaped, just kill me and she will die too. And if you killed her now, my necklace will blow up. That means you will kill all of us at the same time. Now I used my life to ensure that I will set my eyes to observe her until our last breath. If you could not believe her just because she has a robot body, you could consider believing me. I have a human body like all of you. Now you have 2 hostages: a robot and a human. Therefore, please believe in us"

He bowed his head.

Syd: "Please open up your hearts. How can you sentence a death sentence to one who has never committed a crime just because you believed unreasonably that she would do that?"

I could not stand more. How can he do that? He intended to sacrifice his life because of me one more time.

But why did I still feel a little happiness in my heart?

The fire was slowly dying out but no one moved.

Suddenly, there were the police sirens and helicopter sounds.

The police came.

Police: "Please stay away. We need to take in charge this case"

They took us to their helicopters.

In my heart, the small voice yelled <Thanks for give us a chance>

Vigil office

Jeff: "Well come back, Dell"

Syd and Mode set off small fireworks from both sides.

I looked at them.

Where did they take those dangerous toys?

Oh right, when I stayed at the government center, I heard that they released Syd before me several days.

Dell: "I am sorry for lying to you"

Jeff: "It is okay, I am grateful that I could see you come back in one piece. At that time, I thought the crowd will tears you into pieces, Dell"

Dell: "Thank you"

Jeff: "I heard that the government agreed to let you and Syd live under their strict control. It was annoying but still the best thing we could have"

I felt that he considered it as a toy but not a bomb. He was so weird as always.

Within 1 month since the that shocking day, the government released the Adrian robot and turned it off forever. About Adrian, they arrested him but instead of putting him in the jail, they nominated him to work as a scientist in the government lab under their strict control. He taught the government how to mass-produce the crystal and he was still in charge of virus's medicine research too.

I looked around to find one more person.

Dell: "Did Hansol stay at his lab again?"

Jeff: "No, he applied to government engineering team and has worked there about a half of month"

Dell: "What?"

Jeff: "He worried about both of you and he want to do something to protect your future. He told that although the current government system let you and Syd live,there was nothing to make sure that they would not change their mind next years. Besides, he was afraid that some corrupted state civil servants could take advantage of you to do bad things. Therefore he chose to become one of the government officials to help both of you when the time comes"

My eyes became wet. I knew how much Hansol hate to socialize.

Jeff: "It is okay Dell. I think this is the way he uses to say thank to you because you changed him. If it was not because of you, he could become a bad engineer to support Adrian to create that robots army"

Then Jeff smiled.

Jeff: "Do not show that sad face, Dell. He will not disappear forever. He will come to help us in some cases as always. Of course, he must work harder but that's all"

Dell: "Yeah, you are right"

Jeff: "Hold yourselves guys, we will have a next case soon"

On the way to the center park

I came to think about Adrian again.

Dell: "Do you think Adrian found what he could do to make the world become a better place?"

Syd: "His wish is not to make the world become a better place"

Dell: "???"

I surprised at his words.

Dell: "I did not know that Adrian has his own wish..."

Syd: "You think our metal necklaces just falling from the sky? He created them as my request"

Was it connected to his wish?

Then Syd continued.

Syd: "When I suspected that you and Adrian hid something, I came to the Hansol's old lab to ask Adrian. I thought that I had to force him speak out by force but he just tell me anything after my first question. It maybe just my feeling but it was as if he waited someone to stop you doing that dangerous plan"

Syd: "I want Dell could live. He said to me it was his wish"

There were tons of questions in my head.

Dell: "It is impossible that he wanted me to stop. He wanted the percent of the future calculating system raise to 100% even it means that I-"

Syd cut off my words.

Syd: "He changed, Dell. You changed him successfully even though you did not realize that. He told me to stop you. It is the truth. I think he love you more than you thought"

I choked up and kept my silence for moments.

Then I realized something weird. I turned my eyes to look Syd directly.

Dell: "But you did not stop my plan as Adrian's request?"

Yeah, I thought Adrian will support my plan to the end but he wanted to stop me.

And I thought Syd will stop my plan and will not let me show my memory to the world if he knew it.

But then, my plan still happened normally.

Syd scratched his head confusingly.

Syd: "Yes, you are right. I denied his request because I..."

My heart started beating fast when I waited his next words.

Syd: "I knew that you love the world more than your own self. Your happiness is to try your best to save human... You even threw yourself to come to this place. Therefore, at that time, I could not force myself to break your wish. I do not want you could only live but I want you could live a happy life"

When he spoke the last words, he could not help but avoiding my eyes.

Syd: "The only thing I could think at that time was to tie my life to your life so I requested Adrian to make these necklaces. I hoped that people could realize that you was not a threat if we could extend more time for them to think again"

Dell: "But if it failed, you will die too"

Syd: "It was better than just watching you were killed without doing anything"

Dell: "Stupid"

He still bowed his head to hide my eyes.

Dell: "Can I hug you?"

Now he raised his brows in surprise.

Syd: "Sure, but..."

I hugged him and started to giggle.

Syd: "Why are you laughing?"

Dell: "I am happy, Syd"

I could feel he relaxed his body after hearing my words.

Now he giggled too.

We continued to hug each other without saying more.

Suddenly Syd shouted in surprise and pushed me lightly.

Syd: "Hey, you have a gray hair. Look at it!"

Syd showed me my gray hair.

Dell: "Um hum, so what?"

Syd: "??? How can your hairs turn gray? Oh, is it a technology issue?"

Dell: "Oh, I forgot to tell you. Yeah, you could think that as a technology issue but it is a little bit different. It will last for a long time and it will not recover as a cold or a sickness which I suffered before. Actually, it is a side effect of the new code that the government inserted to control me. The side effect will age my biological body parts and wear down my mechanical body parts"

Syd: "How can they do that to you? It is unfair. Finally you saved them from that virus disaster but they tried to harm you. I thought that they just kept us under control by coming to their lab for checking each month. They went too far"

I could feel the angry in his words.

Dell: "I thought it is a blessing, Syd"

Syd: "???"

Dell: "Isn't it a good thing that I could get older with all of you?"

I smiled. Actually, I liked my current body status now. Since I dated with Syd, I have always been afraid of the date that Syd and all of my friends become the old but I am still young.

As his confusing face, I continued.

Dell: "Oh, and the government promised they will give me an official identity card next month too. They considered me as a human now"

Syd sighed.

Syd: "If you want an identity card, Hansol could make tons of them for you"

Dell: "It is different. I will have my own real identity card, not a fake one"

It looked like that Syd took back his calm. We continued to walk while talking.

Syd: "Why did you want a real identity card so much?"

Dell: "Of course I want it. With it I could marry you and we could hold a wedding in the church"

I smiled happily.
