Prefect of Dragons

He is good-looking..

Isabelle Long

As I walked over to the table of the dragons, I glanced up and caught sight of the same black-haired boy as before. He was watching me intently again, his dark eyes following my every movement. He stood up and walked over me, he smiled at me. I found everything about him handsome. His smile was also so charming. "Hi.. I am Nicholas Berling"

I froze as he approached me, his smile sending a flutter through my chest. "H-hi..." I managed to reply, feeling suddenly shy. "I'm Isabelle. Isabelle Long." "You are new here?" He asked with a friendly smile. I nodded, feeling some of my initial nervousness subside in the face of his friendly demeanor. "Yeah, I just got here not too long ago," I replied, offering him a small smile in return.

He chuckled softly, "don't be nervous. I won't bite you" He winked at me. His attempt to lighten the mood made me laugh softly, my nerves relaxing a bit more. "Good to know," I replied with a teasing smile. "I was starting to worry for a second there."

He laughed softly, "would you like to sit with me?" My cheeks flushed before he completed his sentence, "and with my friends?" My heart sank as he added "and my friends," but I quickly masked my disappointment. "Oh, sure," I said, trying to sound nonchalant. "I'd be happy to sit with you and your friends."

I took the seat in front of him as he gestured me to sit, my heart doing a small dance at being so close to him. However, my joy was replaced with a tinge of disappointment as he didn't sit next to me but in front of me instead.

He just smiled before introducing his friends, "so he is Noah, Oliver and that's beside you are Christine and Emma. She is Isabelle" I smiled and nodded politely as Nicholas introduced me to his friends, but I found myself constantly stealing glances at him. Every time he smiled, my heart skipped a beat. "Nice to meet you all," I said, trying to sound composed.

He turned back at me, my heart skipped a beat again as he smiled at me. I looked away for a moment, feeling a rush of shyness, before stealing another glance at him. He was still smiling at me, causing my heart to flutter. I couldn't help but return his smile, hoping the others wouldn't notice my schoolgirl crush on him.

We were heading towards the dorm, Noah and others were telling me about their house and everything when Nicholas grabbed my hand suddenly. I was surprised as Nicholas suddenly took my hand, his touch sending tingles up my arm. I stopped listening to others, my focus shifting completely to him.

"Can i..talk to you for a moment?" He whispered to me. I looked up at him, my heart beating a bit faster at his question. "Sure" I whispered back, nodding. "What is it?" He pulled me in a corner before speaking, "i know where you are from. I know everything. That woman who was talking with you....she is my mother so i know everything." He came closer, cupping my face, "until you are here, you can tell me everything, okay? I want to make sure you feel comfortable here" He softly whispered.

I stared up at him, my heart pounding in my chest at his words. He knew about me, about where I was from. I felt a mixture of surprise, confusion, and relief. "Y-you know everything...about me?" I whispered back, my voice wavering. "Y-you don't think I'm strange...?" He smiled softly and shook his head. "Why would i think that? You aren't strange. You are special"

I felt a small smile tugging at the corners of my lips at his words. "Special...me?" I murmured, my heart fluttering again. "Most people would...think I'm a freak. Or a liar." He bent slightly to get on my level, his hand still cupping my face. "Hey.. i know mostly people would think that.. And we can't go around to change their mind set.. But i trust you.. I understand you must be feeling scared and must be missing your house.. And i want to help you, help you feeling better.. So just trust me, hm?"

I looked up into his eyes, my heart melting at his words. "You...you trust me?" I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "And you want to help me...feel better?" His thumb softly caresses my cheek. I let out a small sigh as his thumb caressed my cheek, sending a flutter through my body. His touch was so gentle, so comforting. I found myself leaning into his hand, feeling a sense of safety and comfort in his presence.

He smiled down at me, "let's go" He took my hand, guiding me inside his house. I followed him, my heart racing as he held my hand. "And you should be proud. You got into my good eyes. I am the prefect of Dragons"

"You..you're the prefect of dragons?" I repeated, looking up at him. "That's...that's really impressive." He smiled proudly, "and you know what that means?" He turned around to face me, "being a friend of a prefect makes you superior here" I widened my eyes, not expecting those words. "Superior...me?" I repeated softly, feeling a mix of surprise and disbelief. "Just because I'm your friend....I'm superior here?"

He nodded with a smile. I couldn't believe my luck. Just because I was friends with the prefect of dragons, I suddenly had more status her than anyone else. It felt...surreal. "I...I can't believe it" I said, a small, bewildered smile tugged at my lips. "No one has ever treated me like this before."  He caresses my hair gently, "i promise.. Everyone will behave nicely with you here"

I felt a shiver run down my spine as he caressed my hair, his touch sending tingles through my body. His reassurance melted my heart. "You promise?" I whispered, my voice slightly trembling. "You'll make sure everyone is nice to me?" He nodded with a soft smile.

I felt a rush of gratitude towards him, my heart swelling with emotion. "Thank you," I murmured, looking up at him with sincere eyes. "I...I really appreciate it. I've never had someone look out for me like this before."
