Chapter 3: Storm

WHATS A LAMS COLLEGE FANFIC WITHOUT A HURRICANE SCENE? (this is totally original)

Laurens' POV

Classes are finally over. They dragged on for what seemed like forever. At least now they're over. I made my way back over to the dorm and opened it. I saw Alexander over at the desk writing in that journal of his. He says I can't read it, says its "too humiliating." I honestly don't really care. If he wants to keep certain things private, he can go right ahead. I mean, we ALL have secrets. That's something nobody could possibly deny.

I look over at him and smile. "How were classes?" I ask. "They were okay, I got another assignment in." He replied, focusing his attention back to the book. "That's good!" He looked at me and gave me a small smile in return. God, I could melt if he keeps smiling at me like that...

I'm not gonna even deny it anymore. I'm in love with him. I really, really, REALLY am. I love the way he smiles, or the way that his eyes compliment his skin tone, or the way that he gives me a reason to actually work, he's nonstop at that. I could go on for about 5 more minutes, that's really it. I just...gah, he just makes my heart melt! He honestly does! "J-John...? You okay there?" Alex said, waving his hand in my face. I snapped back to reality (oh there goes gravity) and realized I had been staring at him the whole time. I felt my face heat up and go a little red. "Oh-yeah, I was just...thinking." I replied. "About..?" "Shelly." My turtle. The turtle I had for a while. The turtle that loved me. I always loved it. "Who's that..?" He asked. Is he serious? I literally told him about them on the FIRST. DAY. "Uhh...my turtle? The one that I've had since the first day? I told you about him on the FIRST.DAY." I was so confused. "Oh...I don't remember..." Is he joking around? "Let me refresh your memory..."

TIME TRAVEL BACK TO FIRST DAY...

still johns pov lol

"Hey Alex!" I said, walking towards his desk. "Hi." He responded. "I should tell you, I've got a turtle. Are you okay with that?" "Uh huh." He was staring at his screen while typing furiously. "Are you even listening?" I wasn't sure if he was soaking it in..."Uh huh." "Well then what'd I just say?" "Uh huh." "...okay then"

BACK TO PRESENT TIME...

"Oh...now I remember." He said, his cheeks turning a bit pink. He laughed a little then looked me in the eye and said, "Hey, uh, I've got no work...if you don't...we could maybe do a movie night?" He looked kinda nervous. "Uh, yeah. I'd love too!" He jumped up from his desk and onto the couch. "Popcorn?" I asked, heading to the kitchen. He nodded his head in response.

Alexander's POV

"Pick a movie! I've got a Netflix subscription!" He called from the kitchen. I went over the movies and could honestly not find one that sounded enjoyable. I finally found one. It was just there. I thought he might like it. I've never seen it before, but he probably has. "How about '50 First Dates'? I've never seen it before." He turned around and looked at me with a shocked expression. "You've NEVER seen it?!" He looked so confused. "uhh no." He grabbed the bowl of popcorn and sat on the couch next to me. He started up the movie and moved a bit closer to me. I felt my phone vibrate a little bit but ignored it, it could wait till after the movie.

A wild timeskip appeared...

Wow. That was good...That was a really good movie! I really loved it! I've never seen it before, but I wish I had. I glance over at the clock and realize it's only 6..."Another movie?" I spoke up. He nodded his head and turned on another one. "Wall-E" the title read. I look out the window and noticed it was raining, just ever so lightly. I brushed it off as nothing and focused my attention back to the movie. I always like spending time with John. He was really nice and obviously cared for others. He's just so...cute. Just everything about him is almost perfect. Like...god, I could go on forever if I just listed ways of his perfection. I look over at John and back to the screen. I felt a light weight on my shoulder and realized something. It was John. I felt my cheeks heat up slightly and tried to focus my attention back to the movie.

yay another Timeskip

Laurens' POV

I woke up on the couch. I looked around. I noticed a couple of things. One, Alex was gone. Probably in our room... Two, it was pouring, heavily. And three, it was pretty late. Well, not super late, but almost one in the morning. Ugh. Why did I have to fall asleep out here? Here, out of ALL places. I guess I just have to get up sometime, right? Ehh...wrong. But I'll get up anyways, my bed is always superior to the couch. It's always so comfortable. I got up off the couch and got out my phone. I thought I'd send a little message in the group chat to annoy them.

2pintsofsamadams: still up lolol

FeminismCalled?: go tO SLEEP

2pintsofsamadams: mmmmmnu

Burningyou: mmmmmmmyES

2pintsofsamadams: mmmmmok

Sheesh, I guess some people actually sleep. Alex would always say "Sleep is for the weak. That's why I'm always up!" He'd stay up until three in the morning. Literally every single night. That's why I always seem to worry about him. Just always. He worries about me, too. I mean, we're best friends. How could we not worry about each other? I make my way over to our bedroom door. I heard something behind all the loud pouring rain. Alex was crying...Not like a sad cry, more like a scared cry. Not even crying, sobbing. I slowly twist the door knob, and peer through. Alex was covered in his blanket, hands over his ears, and panicking.

"A-Alex!!"
