"Shane, what are you doing? You are all over the news again. Not a surprise considering you are giving this news channel topic of discussions every now and then. First, you made the headlines a year ago when you married Emily and now you are seen with Skyler. I got so many calls asking about it. Care to explain all of this mess you created."

Shane

"I am sorry Dad because you have to answer anyone for my actions but I have an explanation to this and I swear its justifiable. I was on my way home. We have to talk about this."

David

"Of course. We have to talk about this. We are waiting."

Ava

"What did he say?"

David

"He is coming over to explain."

Shane

Yes, somebody leaked our photos on the internet and we are the trending topic of discussion now. It is not we, mostly it was me. The perfect husband cheating on her lovely wife. All they want is that one mistake we commit but do they do know they the backstory to it.No, all they want is to make judgments on it without knowing the entire truth. It is their job and they are not going to change it. I should have been careful. I know all of this and how this works. They just want something to raise their ratings. If only they knew the truth. After I hanged up with Dad, I called Skyler. We didn't talk after we saw the news.

Skyler

"We have to find out who leaked the photo."

Shane

"Why are we letting this bother us? After the divorce, I am going to marry you. Then again the latest news will be Shane married the love of his life Skyler."

Skyler

I could already feel a smile curl on my face. Married to the life love of his life.

Shane

"I wish I could be there to see your smile."

Skyler

Shane

"Don't worry Sky. I will take care of everything. I am going to Dad and Mom to explain the situation then I will come to see you."

I rang the doorbell and Mom opened the door. I hugged her and then entered in. I could already see Dad, Taylor, and Tyler sitting on the couch and Dad were furious. I hope he understands.

Ava

"Come on in. Everyone is waiting."

Shane

Without another word, I took a seat on the couch. I take a look at them. Everyone was looking at me for answers. Let's get this over with.
"I know all of this seems crazy but I have a clear explanation for this."

David

"You better start explaining."

Shane

Dad was furious. Mom was sitting next to him placed her hand on his shoulder telling him to calm down and let me explain.

Ava

"David let him explain."

Shane

"We all know how Emily has always liked me."

Tyler

"Yeah. She is desperate for you. Will go to any extent to get you."

Taylor

"True. I hate her and you married her. I am sure you lost your memory at the moment. Why Shane?"

David

"Continue."

Dad had a blank face. I hope everyone understands my actions. It makes me a little nervous now thinking about how they will react.
"It happened on the day of the wedding. When Skyler was serious. We had to perform the surgery as soon as possible. Remember when Emily took me to her cabin to discuss something. She proposed a deal."

Ava

"I am not liking where this is going. Don't tell me you are going to say what I think It is."

Shane

"I am afraid it is. She said she will do the operation only if I marry her. We didn't have much time so I signed a contract with her. I made Skyler hate me so much so that she moves on with life and finds someone else.No one except Bryon knew about this not that I planned on telling anyone. He heard us when we were discussing it."

Tyler

"I can't believe she will stoop down to such levels."

Shane

"I was shocked too."

When Maisha threatened me to take David's company if I didn't leave. I chose to leave because I knew David loved doing his work."

"If only you had told us earlier instead of pushing us away. We could have helped you."

"Now what are you going to do?"

I know it was partly my fault. I shouldn't have pushed them away. It was so selfish of me. They were worried about me while I thought I was the only one.
"We found a way out of the contract."

Tyler

"That's great news."

Shane

"The contract clearly says if either one of us cheats, the contract stands canceled and she is cheating on me with not one but two people."

Ava

"How pathetic. I am so sorry to hear that."

Shane

"You shouldn't be sorry. I am happy. Finally, I can get out of the contract and be with Skyler."

Taylor

"That's true."

Shane

Everyone had shared their views about it and I was glad and kind of relieved that they understood but whose reaction mattered me the most, had a blank face, and had not said a word since I started saying the whole truth. I looked over at him expecting to say something.
"Dad..."

Ava

"We will leave you two alone."

Shane

With that Mom, Tyler, and Taylor left leaving me and dad in the living room. I stood up and sat beside dad on the couch.
"Dad, please say something.Please.Yell at me, Beat me up but don't stay silent."

David

"I understand your reasons for doing all of this. When you love someone you can go to any extent for your loved one and you married the person you hate. I don't care about what others say but what hurts me more that you didn't think that you could share your pain with us. I thought we were close enough to share everything. I would have done everything in my power to help you."

Shane

"I know Dad. I am really sorry. I should have told you earlier."

David

"Well. You should have. You pushed us away and went through all of this alone. I would have hired the best lawyers to get you out. Do you know how hard it was to see you so vulnerable yet I couldn't do anything for you? I feel like I failed as a Dad. I couldn't even be there for my son."

Shane

"No Dad. It's not your fault, Dad. I am at fault. You are the best father everyone could ask for. I am sorry. Please forgive me."

David

"You don't have to apologize."

Shane

Dad stood up from the couch and opened his arms calling in for a hug. I smiled and hugged him.
"I will never do this again."

David

"I am glad my old happy son is back."

Shane

"You know why."

David

"How is she?"

Shane

"She is great. It was only because of her. If she didn't do all of this. I would have still in that contract. She is the one who encouraged me."

David

"What matters to me is that you are happy."

Shane

"I am the happiest."

David

"Does that also mean that you will be visiting us often?"

Shane

"Of course, Dad."
After having a talk with Dad. We sat down and Mom made snacks and coffee. We sat all together and I asked Taylor about her leg? She broke her leg yesterday and I didn't come to visit her yesterday. She was fine. Luckily, it was a minor one. We talked about everything. Not long ago I was missing this thinking if things will ever go back to how it used to be and I have to thank Skyler. How she stepped into my life and it was lit up again. I was happy. I felt so light now that they know the truth. All I cared about was how they would react and now that they know. It felt like a weight had been taken off from my chest. Everyone was happy but I knew there was one person who wouldn't be happy about the news, Emily. I am sure she will do something and we have to be careful, especially Skyler until everything is over. I have to get over this soon and get rid of her.
"I should leave now. I promised Skyler I will go see her today."

Ava

"Of course."

Shane

After I bid goodbye, I drove to a restaurant and ordered Chinese food. I bought some cupcakes from the cake shop and drove to Skyler's house. She will love this. I rang her doorbell and waited for her outside as soon as I heard the door open, I went in close for a hug but took a step back.
"Sky...Noah...I didn't see you there."

Skyler

"Who is it? Shane, you are here."

Shane

"Oh yeah. I brought food but I absolutely forgot about Noah. We can order for you."

Noah

"Don't worry I have to go to my friend's place. She broke her leg yesterday and I have to go see her. I won't be home tonight."

Shane

"Oh. See you later."

Skyler

"Byee."

Shane

After Noah leaves. I close the door behind and kept the food on the kitchen counter walking up to Skyler.
"That leaves the two of us."

Skyler

"What do you have in mind?"

Shane

"Let's have dinner together."

Skyler

"How did your parents take it?"

Shane

"I am starving, Sky. Let's talk over dinner."

Skyler

"Alright."
We sat at the dinner table and ate Chinese food as we talked about how our day went. I am glad everything is going to be fine now. In a few weeks, Shane will be divorced and we will be together but before that, I had to ask...
"Shane..."

Shane

"I was waiting for you to say."

Skyler

"Don't you think Emily will do something?"

Shane

"We have to be careful now at least until everything is fine. I don't trust her."

Skyler

"I am worried she will do something."

Shane

"You don't have to worry, Sky. I will not let anything happen to you..."

Skyler

"I know that. By the way, How is Taylor? She broke her leg."

Shane

"She is fine now. It's nothing serious. Luckily it was a minor one."

Skyler

"That's great. How is Mom, Dad, and Tyler?"

Shane

"Everyone is fine."
We talked for a little while and after dinner, we went to bed. I was exhausted after the long day I had and we laid on the bed just talking to each other and time passes by so fast when I was with her. Every second I spend with her is perfect. She makes me the happiest person in the world and I only want her to be by my side forever.

Skyler

We laid down on the bed talking about things. I always feel like yesterday. Every day is so exciting with him and it really doesn't feel like he left and we have been apart for a year. He never left, he had always been in my heart. Though he wasn't physically present, he was always there and now that he is back with me again. I will never leave him because one thing I learned in the past year I cannot live without him.

Emily

Emily
